Liam Rush Design

I can't recommend Liam enough. He made a large display, storage, TV concealing cabinet for our front room which is hopefully one part of many more Liam Rush Designed storage and furniture pieces for our home. His eye for detail and problem solving were fantastic. He is very understanding, empathetic and an all round great guy. Very professional and an excellent carpenter. Wouldn’t use anyone else for future projects.

Our design is made a reality by the hugely talented Liam Rush. It’s been a true pleasure working with Liam, from the initial conversation to concept design, built and final installation. Our design was borne out of a few different design ideas we’ve seen, having finalised the fully suspended wardrobe design Liam was hugely invested and enthusiastic in making it a reality and input some creative changes we had not thought of. The finished result is even better than we imagined and we look forward to working with Liam on our next project soon.

Liam completed a full renovation of my restaurant, The Ethicurean, while we closed for two weeks for our winter break. Liam worked with us closely from day one, and had several visits to the site to meet with us before we started working on designs. Being in a 1901 grade II listed building creates many challenges, but all of these were immediately met with solutions. We felt in very good hands. Liam listened to our needs, and how we thought the new front of house space should function. It was a much larger space than we had devoted to front of house before, and we worked through workflow and service points together. He offered practical solutions to pinch points and things that didn’t quite work in our vision. Liam has known about our business for a long time, and knows the whole principles are about sourcing locally, and sustainably. With that in mind, once we had the designs mapped out, liam suggested materials and an overall aesthetic that was very in keeping with our core principles. He chose local Oak for our counter tops, and pine sourced nearby, which he burnt with a blowtorch to give it a beautiful finish. He inset brass into the countertop fronts, which pops against the black pine. All cabinets and countertops were built in Liam’s workshop, and he managed to install everything in the restaurant in good time, against a tight deadline before we reopened. All in all, we couldn’t recommend Liam enough. Very understanding, empathetic and an all round great guy. Very professional and an excellent carpenter. Wouldn’t use anyone else for future projects.

Liam and his colleague Will Banfield constructed a birch ply kitchen in our new kitchen extension over the summer in 2017. I found Liam through a friend in Bristol. I had a kitchen layout/ design in mind and Liam and Will worked closely to ensure that the kitchen matched our requirements. I visited their workshop to see a mock-up before fitting, which was really useful. Communication was smooth and easy and they consulted with me every step of the way - on the design, materials etc. They were able to work with a range of materials - not only ply but also a wrapped steel worktop, metal backings for the cupboard doors, and a marble worktop. Other carpenters who quoted said they would only work with wood, so it was great that Liam and Will were able to be flexible on this.

Found service to be friendly yet professional, highly skilled & on time and budget. Will certainly work with Liam again - highly recommended.

Highly satisfied. Liam is useful to work with from the very early design stages of a project. His input on materials and functionality is well grounded in experience. He produced work to a very high standard with great attention to important details. Clean and efficient.
