We engaged Nottingham Builders with the renovation of our deck/back yard. The project was an extensive renovation that included architectural design, hardscapes, and the installation of a hot tub. From the beginning of the project, Lee was very engaged and listened to our thoughts and concerns. Most of his subcontractors were diligent and worked hard to ensure their work was completed timely. Even during bumps, as all projects do have, Lee worked to ensure the project moved towards completion with quality work. Lee is a true professional and comes through with his commitments all while staying within the budget. Although Nottingham Builders builders built our home over six years ago, we continue to love every bit of our home's timeless design and quality workmanship. We recently had Nottingham Builders make some improvements to our outdoor living area. Our quote was quick, the workmanship top quality as usual, and tradespeople professional and highly skilled. Can't say enough good about Nottingham Builders, Inc! After an awful house flood, we were working with insurance and feeling in over our heads. Lee came in and was such a calm and knowledgeable presence. He helped us figure out what we needed to do, how to communicate effectively with our insurance company, brought in his sub contractors to give estimates and was just a down to earth nice guy. This was all before he even had the job. It was a no brainer to go with them. I'm so glad we did. They were on time, worked hard and we saw Lee's face all the time, as he oversaw the project. Shawn was also a pleasure to work with and was very good at his job. They did so so much drywall for us, wood floors, fixtures, plumbing, electric, and more. We even had an unfortunate snag towards the end, that was not their fault but they took care of us and fixed it anyways. Our house looks beautiful! We wouldn't hesitate to use them again and we will be recommending them to everyone we know!

My wife and I have been in the Commercial Construction Business for over 25 years and both of us had the confidence to hire Nottingham Builders and owner Lee Norton to build our house. We interviewed quite a few contractors before deciding on Nottingham Builders and saw the quality of construction in the houses that he had us visit prior to deciding on a contractor. We are glad we made the decision we did. Lee is open and honest about his fees, subcontractors and schedule. Lee's subcontractors are some of the best in the residential housing market and we met with all of them for selection and budgeting. All of the subcontractors were professional, honest and did what they said. We couldn't of chosen a better contractor.

After narrowing our list to just a few builders, we ultimately chose Nottingham because Lee was approachable, up-front about costs and willing to spend as much time as it took to answer our questions. Paul and Shawn put a little of their skill and craftsmanship into everything they did, ensuring we ended up with a quality home with some very special touches. Looking back on our project, my wife and I are extremely glad we chose Nottingham to help us build our home. Where do we begin!!!! Building a house is probably one of the highest stress factors that life has to offer and having Nottingham Builders guide us thru and build us our dream home, they were the best business partner out there! Lee has been doing this for so many years and there is a huge trust factor with him and all of his tradesman that he has developed over the years. I can't thank enough each and every one of them and the professional craftsmanship, talent and passion that everyone brought to building our house, you can see it in our home! Things come up as you build a home, they always do...Lee is there to find a solution and fix it! When building a custom home for the (first) time there are a lot of needs, wishes and wants on our list and Lee always did what he could to make us have it all...he wanted us to have the home that accommodated our lifestyle with our 3 little boys...he made our bonus room possible among several other things! We did our homework before we picked a builder, we reached out to 10 builders, talked to 7, narrowed down to 4 builders looking at 3 homes per builder....Lee stood out to be the best value out there! We had an outstanding experience with Lee. He did an excellent job building our dream home, and keeping us pretty close on budget. The project was completed within our expected timeframe. Lee always took the "customer is always right" approach to make the experience enjoyable throughout. We would highly recommend Lee.

I found Lee through the recommendation of our architect and confirmed through the proposal process that he was an excellent fit for us. He was honest and we were were able to establish a great working relationship. His proposal was the best value out of all the bids received while being competitive cost he was the most value for our money in terms of features and quality of construction. Our project involved a teardown and total rebuild on the lakefront in Crystal Lake. We knew going in there were going to be issues we could not predict until we got there such as water table and hook up to a vintage swear system. Lee found contractors who were able to find economical and effective solutions. We went from permit to occupancy of our new 2000 plus Sq Ft house in 7 months. While we had record rain fall and a lake levels not seen for 100 years he found ways to keep the project moving in spite of the challenges that inevatably come up. We expanded the scope a few times adding a custom pantry, a full 450 sq ft attic, a 45 x 18 ft beach front and a killer stone fire place. Every step of the way I knew he would be fair with "adjustments". The Stained Oak trim and mill work is outstanding, the full wall expanded stone backsplash catches everyone's eye and the deck overlooking the lake is amazing and was built around our maple tree. Lastly the house feature a octagonal double decker tower with a screened porch as part of the deck and a sun room on the second floor. With Lee's guidance we converted it to a fully heated room that is the jewel of the home. Lee's son Shawn was tireless in making sure every detail was addressed and that we were happy. His sub contractors for HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical, and Cabinetry were beyond responsive. This is the first home we have built and hope it to be our last but we have already recommended Nottingham to friends and he has all ready started building their home.

I have known Lee Norton and Nottingham Builders for some time and had originally worked with him designing a new house project in 2016 on a 5 acre lot in Lake Geneva. Due to life circumstances and changes that project was put on hold. Instead, in early 2017 we purchased an existing residence on 1 acre in unincorporated Lake Forest that seemed to better suit our current needs- of course with some major remodeling. Without question, my first choice for contractor was Lee and Nottingham Builders. He knew my personal tastes and aesthetics and with a superb team, Nottingham went to work. There were many adaptations, revisions and add-ons (initiated by us) and I had gone into the project expecting such. Lee was there for every change, keeping tabs on the details and the broad strokes as we progressed. His son Shawn was my on-site contact man and was awesome guiding us through the process. We added significantly to the project and Lee and his team never blinked. Kudos to a great job Nottingham. Finishing touches are happening as I write this review.
