Larocque Elder Architects, Architectes Inc. (LEA) is located in North Bay, Ontario, founded and directed by architects Jean Philippe Larocque and Iris Ruth Elder. LEA is committed to providing quality LEED sustainable architecture throughout Northern Ontario. Since 1995, LEA has been involved with numerous projects, mainly in the areas of North Bay, Sturgeon Falls, Callander, Sudbury, New Liskeard, Timmins, Hearst, South River, Haliburton, Mattawa, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal. LEA continuously strives to build constructive long-term relationships with its clients, and provides the highest level of personalized service possible. LEA continuously refine their client-focused approach and have witnessed the resultant benefits of repeat commissions with regional school boards as well as with various individual clients, community agencies, colleges and universities, municipalities and Ministries.

We have engaged the services of LEA on two residential projects. On both occasions the team surpassed our expectations. From the site analysis and schematic design to the final construction drawings, every detail was carefully considered right down to the impact of the location of the sun throughout the year. LEA’s ability to capture the vision of the client and transform it into a magazine-worthy work of art is spectacular! It brings us so much joy to sit back and relax after the completion of the project and take in all of the wonderful architectural elements of the home… a true masterpiece! John and Julie Piché

My wife and I hired LEA Architects to design our final dream home overlooking the city. We wanted a contemporary home with lots of natural light and an open concept. We had a great rapport with the architect from beginning to end. Our budget and time line were important to us and both were achieved The architects competence and passion was obvious from start to finish. His attention to detail was most impressive. He encouraged and utilized our input to a level above what we expected The interior design and selection of furniture was as important to us as the exterior. This was the part of the project were the true artist came out. The professionalism and talent of this firm were over and above our expectations. We would highly recommend this architect to anyone.

I had the opportunity to hire LEA architects for the complete design and building project of our cottage in Northern Ontario. Our homebase being Europe and not Northern Ontario until 2013, caused us to search for an architectural firm from the area. LEA matched our design criteria and were willing to work through correspondence via emails and Skype. From the first concept drawing, their expertise and taste exceeded our expectations, their professionalism and quality of work that followed during the planning and the entire construction phase made us feel confident, comfortable and trusting. Whenever there was a building issue, or a new design direction, it was addressed immediately and we were involved in every decision – all from overseas. The services that LEA provided us, allowed us to turn our dream cottage into a reality, and provides us, and our Airbnb guests a true connection to the surrounding forest and lake.

This firm has consistently impressed me with their ability to find creative and practical solutions to any and all design solutions. Whether it be a small custom job or a full building, you can expect the same level of quality and professional service. I had struggled with the concept of my main floor lighting and windows for 2 years. Jean Larocque designed a concept that fit my needs perfectly within minutes, and one which neither myself or anyone else had envisioned before.
