Lars Langberg Architects

I hired Lars Langberg a decade ago todesign three outdoor decks on this country duplex! He was patient, creative, and collaborative, and to this moment I have enjoyed decks built as he designed. I asked for decks that were not just squares or rectangles, so he offered trapezoidal shapes that are just lovely. This was a small project, ten years ago….that has turned out to be an ongoing asset to this building, and my life!

Lars helped us create and realize our wine country dream house! He was patient with our many questions, provided several creative options and gave us advice about aspects of our project that we would have never known to ask. Lars also provided great information about resources for materials and worked extremely well with our contractor throughout the building phase. We hired Lars Langberg as the architect to remodel/rebuild a property as a second home on a tight budget (the project cost below is for the architectural services, not the the full build cost) . We bought in part because of Lars' assessment that we could get the result we desired within a limited budget. Lars helped us to get an excellent result while working within the necessary budget constraints. As well as bringing his own design sense to conceiving our house, he was extremely collaborative, and was open to incorporating our ideas into the plan. He worked particularly well with the contractor who built the house. I would have no hesitation recommending Lars to other people, and we would definitely work with him again.

My husband and I are currently working with Lars Langberg to build a home and guesthouse in Sonoma County. The process of designing the structures has been a wonderful and exciting collaboration. Lars has an amazing way to communicate with us and with the team of professionals we’ve assembled. He brings forth his expertise and talent but also his open mind and kindness. He is always careful to listen to our needs and aspirations, while keeping an eye on the budget. Lars is also holding our hand through this entire process, which is totally new for us. We feel extraordinarily grateful to be working with him and would highly recommend Lars to anyone.

This is the third major greenfield project currently underway that we have commissioned Lars to design. They are part of a family compound with guest cottage, home, pool house, winery, caretaker home and various outbuildings. We are delighted with the design, the attention to detail, the interface with contractor/interior designer/landscape architect, and ourselves. .Most importantly, we are pleased with the buildings and their functionality, clean lines, low maintenance and unique style, use of materials. Lars is great to work with, willing to entertain options beyond his own design and is always responsive to calls from contractor during construction, visits site often enough to ensure quality and consistency.
