Storry Norman and Jack Hollis

In the midst of the 2019 Covid19 chaos, Larry Mock, Lee and the Cascade Custom Remodeling Team and subcontractors managed a major remodel of our kitchen, family room, bathroom, and hardwood floors. Larry’s exceptional organizational skills and his nearly daily on-site visits showed his attention to detail and quality and his remarkable concern for our satisfaction and convenience. From start to finish, Larry inspired confidence and trust, saying his “most important product is predictability.” The details and costs of the project were laid out in great detail from the start and adjusted both up and down as inevitable changes were agreed to along the way. The transparency and fairness of the process was comforting. Larry also has a loyal group of high quality subs who do superb work and were both timely and flexible as needs arose. Supply chain challenges created some delays and inconvenience, but Larry worked creatively with subs to minimize disruptions in the overall timeline. A major remodel is a daunting experience and we greatly appreciated Larry’s calm, patient, and wise counsel through the process. Now, months after completion, we remain delighted with the quality and appearance of our remodel and are thankful for all who contributed.

Overall, we were quite pleased with Cascade Custom Remodel. Our kitchen remodel was close to being on time, and most of the subcontractors were excellent. Our main complaint was the lack of leadership during the project. It was our impression during the bid phase that Larry would be overseeing and managing the project. We soon found out that was not the case. The project foreman was not an employee of Cascade, and there were important times when he was not on site. Communication at times broke down, and some hiccups could have been avoided if there was greater attention to what we wanted, as well as a better explanation of available options for various installations. That being said, the quality of work was very good, and the finished product looks great. There were some problems with the cabinet maker Larry recommended. These mainly involved the operation and fit of the drawers, and delays in delivery. However, most of these issues were eventually addressed, and the final product does look nice.

I take full responsibility for the lack of focus on this project. It did not go as well as we wanted or expected. We have taken specific steps to correct the lack of communication that happened on this project. I appreciate the owner's patience during the more chaotic times during production. We will do better.

We have hired Cascade Custom Remodeling for all three of our projects (kitchen, bathrooms and outside re-siding/painting) and have been very happy with the results. Larry the owner, hires great contractors who really know their stuff. The projects were finished on time and Larry is very diligent. His expectations with the contractors are high and they deliver! Larry is accurate with his costing process which results in an accurate bottom line. Unforeseen problems are promptly resolved with focus on owner’s satisfaction. We have one remodel project remaining and will be hiring Cascade Custom Remodel and Construction once again!

This is the second time we have hired Larry's company - the first was for two bathroom remodels, and an upgrade to our fireplace mantel and tile. Excellent work! Our most recent project was a complete kitchen remodel - again, we could not be happier. Larry hires quality sub-contractors, has an excellent on-site construction manager, and utilizes a scheduling and billing software that enhances communication between all of us involved in the project. We finished within days of the original scheduled completion date, important to us since we finished so close to Christmas. He personally followed up on any issues as they arose with integrity and honesty. Highly recommend him and his company.

We did extensive upgrading to the downstairs of our home. From the beginning Larry was direct in what we could expect. Communication was clear and consistent. When unforeseen project issues were encountered (there will always be some!), they were resolved to our satisfaction. We were also impressed with Larry's subs. Not only did they perform quality work, but because Larry had a longstanding working relationship with them, it made handling all issues that arose much easier. After our kitchen suffered a dishwasher leak we had to find a contractor that would allow us to not only make the repairs, but also give us this opportunity to upgrade our 1970s kitchen. I stumbled onto this company through Nextdoor and I am so glad I did. Larry was professional, timely, and all around pleasant to work with. He was upfront about all our costs and we never had any sudden surprises throughout the process. The companies he used to build our kitchen were exceptional. Everyone was efficient and highly skilled. We now have the kitchen of our dreams and we could not be happier. I will certainly be using this company again if/when we take on a bathroom remodel. Larry worked closely with us and our Designer on a full kitchen remodel in our home that was built in 1993. Our project included updating the entire house with new floors, paint, lighting and changing out old oak trim and doors. Throughout the project Larry communicated clearly and worked hard to keep us on schedule and within budget. Working with Larry was a great experience and we are very pleased with the results. Larry has done such an excellent job managing my basement remodel. He dealt with unforseen plumbing and designer issues wonderfully, and always showed up for treats with my dog. He was professional, kind, and understanding about all my questions and concerns about the project. I recommend him to anyone who needs any remodel work done.

Complete remodel of condo - including floors, kitchen, two bathrooms, painting, addition of bookcases with bench seat. Great to work with Larry throughout the process. Larry gave detailed explanation of what needed to be done and the cost of the project. Project was completed within time frame given. Appreciated the detailed weekly invoices that showed what work had been done that week. Prompt attention on completion of minor issues that had to be corrected. Would highly recommend for any project.
