I've worked with many contractors before and the attention to details Asaf brought to the project is the highest I've ever seen. - Communication is clear and fast - Crew always showed up on time - House was cleaned at the end of the day - Everything we agreed on was delivered and even more! I interviewed several contractors for the remodel of my entry, kitchen, dining/living area in my 1948 Hollywood Hills home. I met Asaf Kofler from Kofler Design Build and knew within minutes he was the one for the job. I showed him drawings of what I had in mind, he listened and asked important questions. He got my aesthetic right away. The project was beyond the scope of what I knew possible since it included removing a load-bearing wall on a second level. I could see his enthusiasm to make it happen. The job began a few months in advance of a November construction date and during that time the plans were worked on and all necessary permits pulled. I would need to relocate and let Asaf know that it was critical to keep things moving as quickly as possible. There were a few surprises but Asaf was a master at trouble-shooting and keeping us on track. The house has been totally transformed and it feels like the space it was always meant to be. I would recommend Asaf in a heartbeat.

Asaf and his team are a dream come true. I never thought that a renovation from across the country would be virtually stress free and fun. Yes, you heard me- fun! My husband and I purchased a rental in Venice Beach that we used to live in 15 years ago. Living in New York, and planning and completing the majority of a gut renovation from 3,000 miles away should have been a great challenge. I cannot convey how lucky we were to find Asaf and his team. We were referred by a local real estate broker, as we didn't know any contractors in LA, and I cannot believe how well it worked out. Asaf and his team are the most professional, kind, honest and innovative folks I have had the pleasure of working with. We worked with Asaf and his team from February 2018 to present. Our apartment is more beautiful then I could have ever imagined. We worked with Asaf over 15 months to completely gut our apartment and transform it into a modern, luxury beach condo. Asaf is always straight forward, never over-promises, and properly manages your expectations. He stayed on budget- and would always give a heads up if he thought something could go sideways. Managing money (budget) and expectations is critical, and I felt completely informed and rarely was surprised. Things always "come up" in a gut reno in an older condo building, but Asaf predicted most of the potential problems and costs before agreeing to move forward with what we wanted to do. I know that my husband and I are "particular" and know what we want, and Asaf diligently worked with us to make sure all of the details were communicated, and he did EXACTLY what he said he would do- always. Asaf was extremely flexible- having conference calls late at night most nights, to make sure we were always on the same page and there were no misunderstandings. We spent countless hours on the phone, email and texting at all hours. Asaf was more than accommodating- we spoke on weekends, holidays- you name it. Asaf brought a level of service I would have never expected- ever. I could not recommend Asaf and his team enough. I will continue to work with Asaf on future projects and hopefully a bigger home down the road. At this point, I honestly consider him a friend, and will definitely hire Kofler Design Build for any future work that we have. Thank you to all of Kofler Design Build- Asi, Asaf- you are amazing. We hired Asaf's team to do a major renovation project on a new home we purchased. It hadn't been touched aesthetically in 50 years. There wasn't a room in the house that wasn't given some kind of upgrade, whether it was removing acoustic ceiling, re-wiring, re-plumbing, or painting. About half way through the project we sustained terrible flooding in the lower part of the home. Asaf's team were able to add on the additional dry wall, support beam and drainage repair for the same cost as the remediation companies we received estimates for. A few days ago a row of our recessed lights suddenly stopped working. Asaf sent his electrician over within hours and repaired it. Everyone on his team is professional and polite. They gave us the home of our dreams.

Our first LA home required a total strip out having been left derelict for years. Finding the right contractor was a pretty daunting prospect having never experienced building work in America and also living in London for a large part of the build. When we met Asaf from Kofler Design Build we felt instantly at ease and confident that he could manage our project and deliver within budget and to our timescale. As with all renovation work there were unseen problems and decisions to be made. We had quite a tight budget and whenever the project ran into problems Asaf was on hand to provide cost effective solutions without compromising the design and finished feel of our home. Asaf and his team of experienced sub contractors kept the project running smoothly, managing all appropriate permits and keeping us up to date with progress. Having previously renovated our home in London we were aware that the process can be incredibly stressful - Asaf’s approach was super calm, friendly and reassuring - a rare quality in the world of contractors! I bought my house in Reseda over 20 years ago and hadn’t touched it since then. Needless to say, it needed some work. Asaf was remodeling the house next door to me, and when I saw him and his crew at the job site every day, I knew I should talk to him, as it’s so hard to find a reliable contractor. When Asaf came over to take a look at my house, his confidence and knowledge was very apparent. I am completely clueless when it comes to interior design, construction, or anything related to it. The few ideas I did have, Asaf kindly told me that they weren’t necessary changes and would cost a lot more than I wanted to spend. An honest contractor in LA?? I didn’t think it existed. Without even having to ask, Asaf came up with ideas that were cost effective and that made complete sense to me. Within a few short months, Asaf and his crew made my house into a palace (at least from my perspective) and I couldn’t be happier with the result.

My home in Hancock Park is within a historic preservation, and for good reason. It’s beautifully charming, and has a lot of its original charm and character throughout. However, there were parts of the home, including the kitchen, bathrooms, flooring, and some of the structure that was not so charming, let alone safe from a structural standpoint. Asaf and Kofler Design Build was referred to me through my real estate agent, and I was very hesitant and timid to pull the trigger on hiring just any contractor, because the last thing I wanted was for someone to come in and rip out all of the beautiful, original character from the house. Asaf immediately understood and heard my concerns, and never once pushed to just modernize the house and start from scratch, as that probably would’ve been easier from his standpoint. He carefully listened to each and every detail I went through with him and really made me feel comfortable with the whole process. Naturally, there were some issues along the way with some of the structural stuff hidden in the walls, but whatever it was, Asaf handled it and never made me feel panicked or uneasy in any way. I plan on buying another home in the area as an investment soon, and Asaf will be my first call.

I found Kofler Design Build several years ago as a local contractor in my area (Highland park). At the time I just needed someone to get my house up to par with some retrofitting, repairing my foundation and getting all my doors and windows aligned.I met with Asaf after going through several time-wasting appointments with other contractors that wouldn’t even bother to quote a price. I knew it wasn’t a big job, but I needed someone to step in and get it done. Asaf mentioned that he could help but he might need some time to schedule a crew for this type of work, as the project was on a small scale. He called me a few days later to let me know he can have his crew available in one week and e-mailed me a quote that was very reasonable with a guaranteed timeline. Asaf pulled all the needed permits and started work on the date promised, and better yet he finished the project on time. About a year later, Asaf's team put a new roof on my house. Recently I decided to move. I put my house on the market and bought a new condo in Silverlake that needed some renovation. I needed a bunch of electrical work, recessed lighting, chandelier install, drywall work and painting... and to accomplish all this I needed scaffolding since my new place is a loft with 20-foot ceilings. I was supper stressed with logistics as I was selling my prior home and had a definite date to move out and move in to my new condo. Asaf coordinated all the details and got it all done. Honest, accountable and reliable. Great work and attention to detail. I highly recommend these guys.

I bought a house in the Hollywood Hills in the summer of 2014, and although the house was in good shape for the most part, it was still a 1930’s house that needed work in terms of modern plumbing, piping, electrical, and some cosmetic work including the kitchen and bathrooms. I found Asaf through an online search and met with several contractors before meeting Asaf. However, Asaf had an ease about him that immediately made me feel comfortable and confident that he would complete the job in a timely manner and within budget. His design ideas were better than anything I could’ve thought of, and just as my gut told me, Asaf and his crew finished AHEAD of schedule, and within budget. I was completely amazed that it was possible to find a general contractor that delivered on his promises. I will only call Asaf and Kofler Design Build for any future remodeling needs.

My husband and I purchased a new home in Brentwood CA that had good bones and great views but saying that the house was outdated is a major understatement. While we were in escrow we hired an interior design firm that recommended two different contractors for the project, one of them was Asaf Kofler, from Kofler Design Build. He shared his thoughts as well as his concerns for some of the ideas presented, such as the removal of a load barring wall between the kitchen and living room. There was no question in our mind that Asaf was the best fit for our vision and by far more knowledgeable, experienced and creative then the other recommended contractor. His presentation was impressive, he did his homework and sent us an extremely detailed proposal, not missing a single thing. Ironically, we were not happy with the design firm that we hired initially and decided to let them go. We asked Asaf kindly if he would consider taking the project and jump in to redesigning the whole thing. He said yes, and it was smooth sailing from then on. He brought in his designer Dante and the three of us started working on my vision. It was so easy to work with them, whenever we ran into a challenge, Asaf turned it to an opportunity. Asaf, got his architect/engineer to prepare all the needed plans for the structural work that was needed and pulled all the required permits in no time. From demolition day to final product Asaf’s crew worked six days a week not missing single day. Every worker was polite and top notch in his field. The project took four months to turn around the entire interior of the house, including all the outside decking. The project included: Structural work, windows, doors, custom kitchen, master bath, glass railing, tile floors, Master bath, guest bath, kids bath, wood floors, interior painting and so much more. Asaf and his team, with his amazing foreman finished ahead of schedule and right on budget. The communication was flawless the pricing was fair, and the vibe was great! We were so happy with Kofler Design Build that we hired them again for the second part of the project six months later, the outdoors. The experience was the same and we recommend them to anyone that is looking for a creative, responsible and capable contractor that can really provide peace of mind and a great end result.

My condo in Hollywood was in desperate need of a facelift. I inherited the condo from my grandmother and she hadn’t updated it since the 1960’s! The potential was endless, but interior design let alone construction is not my wheelhouse. When I mentioned it to friends that live in my building, they told me I had to call Asaf, as he had just finished a unit in my building that turned out beautiful. I met with Asaf and he was so kind and patient, and took over two hours walking through the condo with me, giving me design ideas, and solutions to modernizing the condo to my liking. I came to find out that having a crew work in a condo can be difficult, but Asaf made great relationships with the building managers and concierge and was able to put their minds at ease, which made his crew working in the building no issue at all. I was shocked by the end result, it didn’t even look like the same condo!! My new home turned out so beautifully, I never want to leave. Thank you Asaf and Kofler Design Build!!

I met Asaf from Kofler Design Build through a friend who highly recommended him. I have a cute bungalow in Sherman Oaks that needed some upgrading including some structural work, as well as the kitchen and bathrooms, but it was very important to me to keep the original charm. Asaf came over and listened to every word I said, and came up with spectacular ideas on the spot. It was a no brainer that he was the man for the job. Asaf’s crew worked every day of the week and were just as friendly and responsible as Asaf! I am so grateful that my friends introduced me to Asaf and Kofler Design Build, he made my already charming house into a masterpiece!

When I finally decided to bite the bullet and do the addition to my house I had always wanted to do, I called Asaf who I found through my real estate agent. Asaf came over to take a look at the area I wanted to add onto. It was going to be a complicated job, but Asaf without hesitation was able to navigate around the potential issues and make it happen. The end result was beyond my expectations and working with him and his crew was a dream compared to other contractors I’ve worked with, who typically disappear before the job is even complete. I have been living In Mar-vista CA/West LA area for over 30 years. My house is about 3,000 Square feet and I have procrastinated renovating it for a very long time. I was very concerned with finding a reputable construction company as I heard so many horror stories related to this industry. I was so lucky to be referred to “kofler design build” by a close friend I trusted very much. I met with Asaf, and with no time my worries fated away. He asked me all the right questions, took notes and open my eyes to the possibilities at hand. What I liked most was that he wasn’t pushy in any fashion and told me to take my time and think things through. My main focus was on the kitchen, flooring, master bath and powder room. Within two days, Asaf emailed me a detailed proposal that fully explained the project. He of course included the total price as well as a fair stage payment process. I called him up and told him “Let’s do it”. He sent me all the documents to review and had me signed them via DocSign, at my own privacy, which was another very comforting factor. (Especially after having a guy from a different company that wouldn’t leave until I signed his contract – Terrible) After several days we met with his amazing cabinet maker to work on the kitchen design and schedule the official start date. A week later demolition started. I never imagine anyone paying so much attention to cover walls, floors, doors etc.. before the they start demolition. His crew finished all the demolition, haul away and cleaning up in one day! (WOW) The crew members and his foreman were at the house every day at 7:45 am, waiting to come in at 8:00 am sharp. The work was professional and the attention to detail was remarkable. Cabinets came out better than I thought. We had one issue with the counter tops, where the island counter broke. Asaf took care of it right away and three days later they came back to install a new one, no questions asked. Asaf Helped me with all the fixtures selection and was able to save me quite a bit of money on most of them including all the tiles. One thing I really appreciated was the fact that each day about 20/30 minutes before they finished for the day, his workers stopped everything and clean-up the work area. I am very sensitive to dust and so I found this incredibly thoughtful. The project was done in just under six weeks about a week before schedule. I don’t have much experience in renovating so it’s hard for me to compare this company to other companies, but I can most definitely say that my experience exceeded my expectations and was very, very good!
