Karen responding immediately when I asked for help with drapes and upholstery. She had great ideas and brought a number of samples. Karen recommended a vendor and provided bids for the project. I paid her for her time and the materials she ordered for me. I thought we were finished, but she followed up a few weeks later to check that the material was delivered and the upholsterer had contacted me. I will use Karen for any future work in our home. Karen and her staff did a wonderful job installing our company's legacy wall. Given that the wall is brick, the installation was a bit trickier and Anthony was meticulous. I was under a tight deadline and Karen worked with me to ensure that all pictures were hung by our grand opening events. I would not hesitate to recommend her!

The Kent County Road Commission had their grand opening on July 11. This amazing 29-acre complex facilitates equipment, repair and maintenance buildings, storage, salt barns and administrative offices. We were honored when asked to assist with the legacy wall. The legacy wall not only showcases a pictorial of the history of the commission but also serves as a focal point in the lobby. The photos with their interesting subjects, shapes and frames give a
memorable welcome to everyone who enters. Maura was more than a pleasure to collaborate with!

K Linn helped pick out exterior pain color for my home, May 2022. Karen was extremely receptive to my thoughts on this project and was an excellent listener to my goals. Jamie wanted assistance updating the exterior of their home. Her goal was a fresh look that made a statement but stayed away from anything trendy. Selecting a darker shingle, brightening the base color, accenting the front door, window trim and peak along with selecting new post and exterior lights with a greater presence worked magic towards accomplishing her desired aesthetic. New landscaping added the finishing touch. It was a fun project! Jamie and Jim are a delight to work with.

From our first encounter, she understood my issues and concerns with downsizing to a retirement facility and brought forward innovative ideas to make our new residence truly our new home. Her work is speedy and insightful and respects our ideas, yet she adds her exceptional insight to use of space and design. She works well with support staff from facilities. We are simply delighted with her services and could not be more pleased with her work.

My family hired Karen to help us with decorating a room for our mother who was on a fast track to move into an assisted living apartment. Karen completed the project in one week! Karen sought out every contact she had to find the items that we needed. From purchasing a couch to finding the right color towels and sheets she handled everything. We were amazed at her tenacity to find just the right piece of furniture or a bedspread that had the colors my mom would love. Karen’s attention to detail, her expertise and willingness to do whatever it took to finish the project on time was appreciated by the whole family. Best of all our mom loved her new room!

An occupancy permit granted ahead of schedule put this family in a position to act quickly. It had me calling out all the stops in business relationships and resources. I was flattered my friends entrusted me with this important task but it was the collaborative effort that made the ultimate design goals and deadline achievable. I truly enjoyed working with them in making their Mother’s new home functional, comfortable, complete with her signature.

I was happy to have Karen recommended from two sources. My job was not a large on, hanging a mirror over a fireplace, but the care and attention she gave me, my lovely restored old mirror, and the task at hand, instilled trust from the beginning. She was attentive when scheduling the job and followed up several times to confirm. She and her helper arrived exactly when she said they would. I felt like she listened to me and showed interest through out. I will be telling friends and family about Karen and K Linn. I only hope I can call her again for a big important job!

She is very pleasant to work with and strives to meet all of my decorating needs. She is hard working and makes sure she completes one project before going on to the next one on the list. I downsized and moved to a Condo that needed updating. Karen handled the entire project. She always discussed every aspect of the project with me. I am so pleased with her work. Judy downsized from a home to a condo. It was dated and needed thorough updating. She had other commitments and was looking for design help along with a take charge person. She has been a delight to work with, receptive and easy going. Collaboratively, we were able to create an aesthetically pleasing environment that also meets her needs professionally and as a grandmother.

Karen worked with me on a master bedroom and bath remodel. Working with Karen made the job fun and almost stress free! She helped me coordinate functional and beautiful tile for shower, floor, and back splash; choose cabinet hardware, paint, fabrics and carpet; made furniture and art suggestions; helped decide on proper type of window treatments, and overall was a guide on the side throughout much of the project. Karen connected me to artisans and shops in Grand Rapids as sources for quality, yet reasonably priced products. She can advise an guide on large to small details, like where to place knobs and hooks for towels. Karen listens carefully and bounces ideas back and forth till you land on something you both like. I really appreciated that she gave honest (yet sensitive) feedback about things she thought would not work that I was considering. I needed an expert to assist and Karen's many years of experience were obvious. Her extensive knowledge and sense of color, pattern and design helped turn this big project into a big success. Karen is very hard working and reliable. She responded and initiated night and day! I highly recommend Karen who I know you will enjoy working with.

This is the second time I have hired Transforming Interiors. The first time was wonderful which is why when we needed an update, we turned to Karen again. We were not disappointed. This time I needed to replace the carpeting in our home, which is a big expense and a big decision. I knew I needed professional advice. Karen provided that advice and we are grateful for her skill. Karen is able to present common sense but innovative ideas. She helped me through my indecisions when I was simply stuck. The result is great. And, she is affordable!

My wife and I would highly recommend working with a designer for any remodels, updates and/or changes you would like to make to the interior of your home. One designer in particular is Karen Vander Werp. We have worked extensively with her on several projects in our home. I have a had a 30 year relationship with Grand Rapids Lighting. They are the equivalent of a big home-town store. They are very personal in there approach along with a willingness to "go above and beyond." The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. They are happy to assist with those designer "can you do this" projects. The store offers a vast selection of lighting in numerous styles and finishes. The catalog library with comfortable seating offers more creative options waiting to be discovered. The close out section gives even more possibilities with exceptional pricing.

We needed a reliable, get it done source to stage our home and advise us on items to address to ensure we maximized our homes value and position us for a quick sale for full asking price. Karen delivered! Karen's sound advice, keen eye for spacial placement of our existing furniture to enhance our home and have it show its potential for buyers was a critical component to successful sale of our home in 10 days from when we listed it. Karen came to our meeting prepared, carefully identifying modifications that were easily completed in a very short time period. Karen has an astute eye for interiors, works in a very supportive collaborative way, her ideas were enlightening to us and the results of following her suggestions paid dividends. Karen has been working with us for years on several projects. She has brought unbelievable transformational changes in our homes and I would recommend her to everybody I know. Her creativity and artistry had always amazed my husband and I. We have been very appreciative of her promptness, dependability, and honesty. My husband and I have lived in our home for almost 30 years and apart from a few updates in the past, we knew our home needed some freshening up. We called Karen Vander Werp of Transforming Interiors and with her amazing vision and incredible eye for detail, our dining/living room has been completely redone and we are so thrilled with the results! She was able to work with a few pieces of furniture that we wanted to keep and incorporated them into an updated an amazing look. From painting our tire woodwork, painting our oak table, modernizing our 3-way fireplace with faux painting and adding a new seating area with beautiful window treatments, the dining room was completely transformed. It was the same with the living room a year later. She was able to see options that we wouldn't have noticed or thought of. From artwork to furniture to accessories to window treatments, she was "spot on" every time. What we also appreciated was the way she listened to us and what our likes and dislikes were and would fins ways to ensure her vision, along with keeping our wants and needs. Plus she made it fun and interesting. We learned so much from her guidance. We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed working with her now and will look forward to when we will get a chance to do so again in the future.
