Kinesis Construction completed a major basement remodel to include an additional 2 bed/1.5 bath apartment for our multi-gen family. The work was challenging due to many factors; especially our tight budget and demanding time constraints. Scott Davis was very creative and ensured that the work was completed on schedule. His Tradesmen were friendly, knowledgeable, respectful, and helpful. Quality was impeccable and clean-up was spotless. As homeowners, be prepared! Scott moves fast and you must have a good sense of what you want in order to keep up with him!

I worked with Kinesis Contruction this summer and fall to finish our basement. I was referred to Kinesis by a friend and former colleague. The Kinesis team was great to work with. They did an excellent job finishing our basement - it looks better and is more functional than I expected. Geoff and his team were friendly and available to answer questions or give updates on the work. The project did take a bit longer than expected to complete, but Kinesis kept me updated on the timeline and worked hard to make sure it was done asap. The finished product is excellent. Kinesis Construction has done a wonderful job of renovating the home where my son and I live with my mother. We hired Kinesis to renovate an old horse barn into usable space as a workout space plus storage. Attention to detail with everything from new doors, a new slab, and electrical and lighting. Which we finished in a timely matter with a satisfied customer. Since then we have continued to work together and have left every client happy. Scott did a big remodel plus addition from the foundation up for our old 1960 based house in the first half of 2018. He completed the project under budget and exactly how we wanted. People in our neighborhood keep mentioning that the new addition looks like it has always been there, which is of course how an addition should be. Extra care was taken to make the new addition look like the original house which has some non-standard architectural design elements, but still meet modern code and have modern and hence ticker wall and roof insulation. Also as we live in a forested area with a lot of natural underground water flowing around the foundation, we had extra non-standard requirements for drainage. We wanted to keep the new basement dry without using sump pumps. The natural gravity based drainage using the natural terrain works so well the pump in the existing house has not kicked in either since, which is probably a first in decades. Last, we also remodeled parts of the existing house, by changing the front entry, adding some sound-proofing and new windows to match the new addition and provide better insulation as well. Scott kept providing options and showed flexibility all through the project allowing us to change our minds along the way. I would use Scott again, and recommend him!

Kinesis provided excellent planning and support services; they helped us price the project (kitchen renovation from original, challenging 1960 condition), referred us to subcontractors, and enabled us to reduce costs as we were able to do some of the work under their supervision. What really sets Kinesis Construction apart is how they handled our project; their extensive experience quickly became obvious. Many GCs have serious trouble adapting to unknown conditions. Lack of flexibility can become a serious problem. The bigger the project, the bigger an issue this becomes. My family and I have worked with many contractors over the years. Most are in a hurry and might even pressure us to make quick project decisions, when our research is still in progress. Kinesis took the time to work with us. Scott is able to patiently work with us to figure out what’s best, for us. The results are terrific! Kinesis has been GREAT to work with! The way they do business is not to just complete XYZ tasks. What sets them apart is adaptability in managing the project and offering suggestions. Result is that we love our renovated home and within my budget. Anyone looking for a half-decent contractor in Seattle, let alone a truly good one, knows how hard that process is. We were extremely lucky to find Scott and the team at Kinesis. We were a recently married couple doing a significant remodel of our old 1940s Wedgwood house and needed a contractor willing to guide us through the process, let us add value where we could and help us manage a razor-thin budget. Kinesis did that and much more. Scott and his team guided us through everything, offering design, cost saving and alternatives input from day 1 to help us work with the budget that we had. In fact, they talked themselves out of work more than once because they knew it was what was best for us. That's unheard of with the contractors I've known in the past. They are clearly busy, and rightfully so, but always made us feel like we were their only customers through their communication and focus. The quality of their carpentry work was top notch and every sub they brought onsite was timely, respectful and professional. They have clearly built a team of the best trades around them, no doubt because those folks like working with them as much as we did. I really can't say enough to recommend Kinesis to anyone looking for a remodel or new construction contractor. They are head and shoulders above any other group we have ever worked with and we're looking forward to the next time we can bring them into a project.

Let me start by saying the Kinesis team was wonderful to work with. I was referred to Kinesis via a friend and architect who had worked with them over the years. I feel the company does quality work at a fair price. In addition, my remodel project hit several snags as such projects can do, & Kinesis, the architect, & the structural engineer worked exceptionally well together to problem solve. Just by these people collaborating, the snags were figured out & the project even came in a little under budget. This is also a very active construction market with there simply not being sufficient people out there to meet the demand, so any hiccup in the schedule can take weeks to get back on track. My projects did take more time than anticipated, but the Kinesis team did the best they could & kept me apprised during the process. It was a good partnership & I would recommend Kinesis.
