Working with Donna was a pleasure. She directed me to quality materials for my new kitchen and she managed the ordering and delivery schedules. My husband and I had never renovated a room before and we had quite a challenging bathroom to re-design because of it's small dimensions. Donna was such a great person to work with - she is easy going, let us choose out our style, but where we were clueless she could fill in the gaps seamlessly. She had excellent suggestions that never occurred to us (lighting under the floating cabinets that act as a nightlight for our kids at night, outlet inside our cabinets so our electric toothbrushes weren't on display all the time, etc) and the end result was achieved - the space looks much bigger and is much more functional than before. Because of my husband's mobility issues, we decided that a bench in our oversized shower would be helpful. After hiring a handyman for what I thought would be an easy build, I was disappointed to find that he had no experience in this area. His bench allowed for water to seep into the wood frame causing months of unidentified stagnant water odors coming from the bathroom. In my search for design assistance, I was fortunate enough to find Donna from KE Interior Solutions. She not only assessed the situation but determined who among her trade contacts would be best suited for the bench rebuild. She also went the extra mile in helping find remnant quartz that would keep the price reasonable and in recommending a qualified and responsive shower glass company. The design was elegant and the builder she chose for us was a perfect match for our unique needs. The finished product is a classy shower bench that is waterproof, comfortable and a safety addition that adds value to our bathroom. Donna designed and executed the plan for our kitchen, bath, mudroom, and flooring renovation project. We are extremely thankful for her help and expertise through this large undertaking. The most valuable asset Donna brought to our project was her ability to determine and design the most functionality with the space we had. It really is important to bring a fresh set of eyes into your household and allow them to imagine what is best for your home. I moved into a beautiful Spanish Style home will a 22 ft wall surrounded by windows making up my living/dining/kitchen area - luckily the wall was a blank canvas. Working with Donna to design a wall worthy of the room was a delight. From finding and sourcing the Colorado Fir Wood beams, the Colorado Native Sandstone tile, a beautiful fireplace, floating shelves and cabinets was amazing. Now that it is complete I love spending time in the space..most importantly the house now feels like my home.

We sought out Donna as an experienced, local designer who was open to working with homeowners. Donna was well worth the investment not only for the initial design work, but as our sounding board and partner during our kitchen project. What we loved most: - Excellent design. Donna took our 1960's ranch (with stairs in the middle of the house), and helped us envision an open floor plan, with space, light, and custom touches. She got to know our style and what we were looking for - she made excellent recommendations on things like cabinet door style. - Vendor liaison. You are going to run into issues with any remodel project. For example, when our dishwasher arrived damaged and the replacement was backordered for 6 months, Donna took it upon herself to call other local appliance stores to help us acquire a replacement. Thankfully Donna was always there to make sure that we ended up happy. - Lighting layout. Donna is a master of layered lighting, and we are so pleased that this was included in the design. HUGE long-term value. - Professionalism. You can tell this isn't Donna's first time designing anything--and we needed that with our tricky layout. On top of that, she was timely in her responses with us, and provided us with nice materials, like a full design binder of all our layouts, appliance descriptions, etc. What we would advise others like us: - Donna has good connections - use them. She wasn't pushy about going with her vendors or contractors, and the value of having her be your advocate is enough to make it worth it. She came with us when we shopped for appliances, cabinets, and granite, and helped us coordinate the delivery and installs. - Don't under-value the (extra) cost of a designer. We have had friends go without a designer to save money. Don't make that mistake! Donna's services are unique and valuable on their own and would be hard to come by in a general contractor or Pinterest board. Overall, we wouldn't hesitate to use Donna again and would recommend her to anyone looking to embark on a remodel journey.

We are typically a DIY couple and enjoy our home remodeling projects. But when it came to our kitchen remodel, we decided it would be best if we enlisted help – especially with the “unseen” aspects of such a project. We decided to hire a designer with some credibility associated with them and not the large box store “employee de jure” model of selling things we didn’t want. WE COULD NOT HAVE DONE IT WITHOUT DONNA!! We have a beautiful and efficient kitchen that we would not have envisioned without Donna's assistance. We cannot be happier with our new kitchen! Working with Donna was an absolute pleasure. I don't normally do this, but we felt compelled to leave a review so that anyone who is in a similar situation can find her and get the kitchen they've always wanted. Our situation was that the previous owners partially remodeled a 1970s era kitchen, and it was not holding up well. The space was oddly shaped and on the small side, and we really needed help figuring out how to maximize our space and making sure we didn't make any serious design mistakes. Donna to the rescue! She really listened to what we wanted and suggested design and utility enhancements that we never would have thought of. We went through at least 3 different layouts before we landed on the right one - this was actually a very important part of the process, because it gave us the push to think about what we wanted and why. After that, it was quite easy - she managed the project, over-communicated every step of the way, and created a beautiful space that our family loves and will use for many years to come. We were budget conscious, and Donna was good at communicating the costs and reasons behind them to justify the spend. When we started looking into our bathroom update, two colleagues recommended Donna because they were both impressed with their recent remodels. Our project involved updating two older bathrooms. We were so impressed with Donna's professionalism. Donna was an amazing resource for design ideas and identifying materials. We started the project with some ideas of our own, and she was great at taking those starting points and working with us to improve on some things, refine others, and introduce new ideas we wouldn't have thought of on our own. We are thrilled with the end result. We hired KE Interior Solutions to design a kitchen that coordinates our mountain home. I’m happy to say that Donna McMahan exceeded our expectations. The large island, configured with a Taj Mahal Quartzite counter incorporates a chiseled edge, embracing the elements of elegance and casual mountain living. Further, Donna consulted on lighting, textiles and appliances. After hearing about my love of entertaining and my dislike for cleaning, Donna steered us toward a state-of-the-art induction cooktop. We couldn’t be happier with this decision. The induction cooktop is attractive, cooks fast, has precision heat control, and my most favorite feature…. it’s a breeze to clean. Because it utilizes induction technology, you can actually place a cloth on the cooktop while frying, boiling and searing food. Once you’ve finished cooking, simply roll up the cloth and toss it in the washer. I’m no longer concerned with splatters, spills or cruddy build-up. Most importantly, Donna was irreplaceable from a project management stand point. She was always present to review installation details with each trade, proactively identify and solve problems, while keeping our best interest in mind. Donna is her client’s advocate. She doesn’t stop until you are 100% satisfied.

Our family has been thrilled with the newly remodeled house that Donna helped us design and finish. She patiently saw us through planning changes as we kept enlarging our vision, and when it came to seeing that vision realized, she found us a fantastic builder. Donna possesses a keen attention to design and details, most noted in the way she communicated with our cabinet fabricator in order to get the look we desired in the space we had, no easy feat. Another place where her design shined was the master bath vanity and wall. Everything turned out perfectly. I also appreciate her knowledge of products. I particularly love the sinks, tub, tile, and plumbing fixtures she recommended. It was a relief to know Donna had our backs and would help us weather any wrinkles along the way.

Our kitchen was the second remodeling project that Donna completed for us. Our master bath was the first and it exceeded our expectations, so it was an easy decision to use her services again. And then there is Rob, our contractor for both our kitchen and bath remodels, who Donna introduced us to. Rob is an extremely gifted craftsman who takes enormous pride in his work and it shows. Donna was thorough and patient with us throughout this large main floor remodel. This is my first house and my first remodel project and I am picky and cautious to make decisions. Donna guided us through the process smoothly, helped us stay on budget and designed a beautiful, functional, modern main floor for us. She was always available even with my random work hours and she was prompt to respond when would run into problems. Donna did an excellent job guiding me through the remodel process. She was very professional and experienced at managing every stage of the project from design, measuring, ordering, and interfacing with vendors and contractors. I would definitely recommend her. One area that could use improvement is communication and time management. She was over 1 hour late for at least half of our appointments, and missed two of them altogether. I never knew when we had an appointment when or if she would show up. My preferred communication method was text or voicemail, and I missed several important communications that were sent to my email. This happened over a 6 month period despite my reminding her to text or voice mail me. If not for the communication and appointment keeping problems I would have given her 5 stars. Despite these problems she managed the project very well, and I hope to hire her again for future projects.

The goals of my home renovation came from visions of creating a fully open, modern and airy living space. The vision to open up the dining, living and family room spaces to the kitchen was easy in concept, but understanding how to make that happen was over whelming for me. How was I going to take a vision and make it a reality? The contractor I was working with recommended I call Donna McMahon with KE Interior Solutions to help with the overwhelming task ahead. He had worked with Donna before and had great results. Donna came in and went over some initial thoughts she had about opening up the space and then talked with me about the process and how it would typically unfold, with guidance to move from one selection to the next. Her initial plans gave me two strong options to consider against each other, and ultimately the plan I chose gave me everything I had hoped for in functionality, storage and design for entertaining. The process was extensive but the guidance thru it, with the resources that Donna shared helped me to easily digest my choices and ultimately make decisions that I was comfortable with. Donna never over whelmed me so the decisions came easily. As always in a renovation, there are surprises, sometimes miscommunications, but as I found it is all in how those glitches are handled that then again helped me move through new decisions or choices to solve a problem. Donna was always immediately available and always responsive to questions or concerns. She was on my jobsite constantly throughout the process which was hugely beneficial. Her resources, showroom and vendors where also professional and responsive to any issue that arose. In the end with Donna’s guidance and support, I feel I have put together a home that is now so beautiful, so comfortable for the lifestyle I am living and a space all my family can enjoy with me. We are so glad we found Donna when we were considering the remodel of our late 1800's row house Kitchen & Bath. Our kitchen is on the bottom level, which is currently below grade, altho it was not always so, having changed sometime in the early 1900's. This was our first experience with remodelling. This scenario made for many logistical challenges at several points in both design and execution. Donna's kitchen design gave us more access to light coming from our windows and much more storage, which we really needed. In addition to this very handsome kitchen design, we added a spacious walk-in shower to a small bathroom which was a design challenge but will be greatly appreciated by our guest. Donna guided us thru the selection process with patience, while educating us on the pros and cons of some of our choices. Our experience was almost completely without problem or delay, partly due to Donna's working relationship with her team partner Gary Krause, our contractor. Between the two of them, most issues were resolved before we even knew about them. She was available to us throughout the project and frequently onsite during the actual renovation. At one stage, she let us take on the responsibility of certain elements of our project at a perceived savings. Knowing now the full scope of this task, we would gladly pay her an additional fee to save ourselves some of agony. We love the final product and couldn't have enjoyed working with Donna more.

I originally found Donna through her website. I had narrowed our designer search to four professionals based on budget and portfolios. The decision to go with Donna was a very easy one. She was the only designer that was very responsive and very thorough in her answers. She was unafraid to give specifics and answered every question or concern. Her “Budget” remodels section showed she could be a good fit for our needs. Our main need for a designer was to create a new layout within the constraints of an old home's bones. Donna was wonderful and helped us to not only create a great modern and functional layout, but to make choices that had the highest impact for each dollar spent. We had some remodel experience, but knew we needed professional support for the kitchen. I told Donna we wanted a $50K kitchen that looked like we spent $100K and that is what we got. Donna respected our commitment to the budget and worked hard to find product that would look awesome, but not be out of our price range. Our situation was unique in that we remodel for ourselves, but due to possible frequent job relocations we also needed the kitchen to have a wide appeal in the event we move and need to sale. The end design was something that was both very much our esthetic while also being very appealing to a mass market. Additionally, we had found a subcontractor on our own before meeting Donna that did not work out. She SAVED us and found a replacement that was outstanding. We have three small children and the layout and functionality allows for all of us to be in the kitchen with extended family and no one feels cramped. We are very happy with the new appliances, and especially love the two peninsulas built into this new space. This has been great to have the kids at one end doing their homework or crafts, while my husband or I is in the kitchen working and the other is on the opposite peninsula working on a laptop and not worrying about little hands. There is plenty of room for multiple activities in the same space. The kitchen is modern but still blends perfectly with the rest of the house. We are thrilled with the out come of design, services, and style. We recommend Donna highly!

My experience with Donna at KE Interior Solutions was excellent. We began with a vision of an open, airy kitchen that would be better for entertaining friends and family. As a parent of two kids who are beginning to show an interest in cooking, I also wanted a kitchen that would be able to accommodate all of us cooking together. Donna designed the layout and custom cabinets for our kitchen remodel in our 100 year old bungalow. She also coordinated the installation of the countertops. We had a major flood in our newly purchased house in mid November, where just about every room in our home was affected. Donna McMahon from KE Interior Solutions changed our do-it-yourself kitchen project from a simple remodel to a magnificent home transformation. She listened carefully to our needs as a family and created several designs for us to choose from. Her layout made the best possible use of the space while opening up the kitchen to the living room allowing us to use more of the natural light from our huge living room windows. Since I was doing the majority of the work myself, I was in constant contact with Donna concerning details in the plans. I'd never done a project this large, but Donna was just a phone call or email away to give me all the detailed measurements I needed along the way. She is very detail oriented and gave me all the specifications I needed to layout the new walls and 26 lights. Her communications was excellent! Donna had our budget in mind throughout the project and kept us on track with purchases and materials to stay within budget. When we fell in love with the most expensive cabinets, she gave us ideas on features to cut out (like detailed end panels) in order to make the cabinets fit our budget. Donna was able to educate us on specific counters, sinks, and facets, with pros and cons to help us make our decisions. She was available to meet us at various showrooms and seemed to note what interested us so that she could make suggestions. We went into our project directionless and came out with a design that we're really happy with. I have some fine details to finish up (like backsplash, baseboards, and paint), but Donna offered to come over with a color kit to help us coordinate colors. Overall our experience with KE Interior Solutions was marvelous!! We'd highly recommend Donna to anyone looking for a creative, detail oriented designer. If you're a do-it-yourselfer, she'll help you get it right. If you're not, she'll point you to someone who can do the work. I give Donna an A+.

We hired Donna to help us design our new kitchen for our 80's colonial home. I performed the construction and left the design in Donna's very capable hands. Donna's experience, creativity, and industry connections gave us the ability to design the kitchen exactly to our liking and at a price that is well below what any big box store could offer for the same or better quality. I know that without Donna's help I would have made a great deal of mistakes in all the subtle details of the kitchen design. I'm very pleased with how our kitchen turned out and I never write reviews unless it's absolutely justified either in an extreme positive or negative light. Working with Donna was such a pleasure. This being our first down-to-the-studs addition / remodel my husband and I were absolutely clueless about organizing and designing a kitchen and bath from scratch. Our builder had agreed to install but we needed someone to bridge the (huge) gap between my folder of images and the installation date. Donna's ability to quickly identify our wants and needs along with her clear communication and attention to detail was a perfect fit. She personalized a kitchen that works according to our habits and we absolutely love it! Not only did Donna's design aesthetic add fun and creative solutions to our minimalistic style, she also managed to keep us on budget and on schedule. Donna has been such a creative and knowledgeable resource during our renovation to a 1938 Tudor in Denver! After suffering from some neglect as a rental, the house was in need of many upgrades such as bathrooms and kitchen along with laundry room and family room. After searching Houzz and talking to other people that had tackled similar renovations, we contacted Donna and are so glad we did! We made an appointment and filled out a questionnaire with a wish list – new kitchen with storage, master bath addition, improved layout of the laundry room and an improvement to the basement family room space. The house was charming but needed lots of TLC, and we wanted to maximize our investment! Out came the measuring tape and Donna went to work creating a design. There were several meetings during the design process, and the outcome was a real transformation. The workflow and storage in the kitchen were improved; the master bath was creatively worked into an existing sun porch – so many details were carefully planned and integrated. The house presented with structural considerations and Donna’s experience and creativity were very valuable. Donna created a design that we could work with and implement to get a final product that we are so proud of – we love the end product. Home renovations are a challenge and come with the inherent risk of unknowns. Donna’s design plan and attention to detail got us off to the right start and paved the way for a successful renovation. Renovations are almost complete, and we will move in before the holidays this year. It will be wonderful to celebrate with family and friends in our beautiful home. Thanks so much Donna!

Donna was a pleasure to work with. She listended to my ideas and was able to incorporate by vision until a cohensive kitchen design that is both beautiful and functional. Donna McMahon was very respectful of my budget, time frame and size of project. She was prompt regarding all aspects of communication and coordinating times and dates to look at varies materials. My kitchen needed a face lift, rather small project with fantastic results. We found a wonderful quartz pattern which we discussed in detail the advantages of quartz verses granite. I am so pleased. We had dark laminate counter tops previously the new counter tops are lighter, easy to clean and made the kitchen so much brighter. Donna suggested that we cut down the high bar counter top and make it all one level. What a great improvement instantly made the kitchen look Bigger. She suggested a curved counter which improves when sitting @ the counter and having conversations. Next was the title that was selected for the back splash her expertise in how the top edges and how high was very much appreciated and needed . We had a small desk area that Donna inquired about the use of this area and suggested a large pantry with a wine rack to divide the pantry doors. Another great idea and very nice touch. She did not stop there she was able to figure out if we had enough left over quartz that our master bathroom got two new tops also. I am so pleased and get compliments all the time. We hired Donna a few years back (prior to houzz.com :) to design our kitchen, from scratch, and I am thrilled to be able to rave about her now! Essentially, we bought an old Tudor style home in Denver, CO, with a traditional floorplan. Separated rooms, no open floorplan, and specifically a galley, narrow, old dated kitchen... Donna, from very little direction or input, and after only 1 visit to her showroom-- knew exactly how to give us the wow factor we were looking for, and within our budget. Actually, she came in under budget. :) This was a project that literally included tearing out walls to open up the space to the formal dining and family room area; making space for an exterior door to a side patio; closing up a window to allow for the design; and multiple other challenging system changes to plumbing and electrical. Donna's understanding of these key system changes helped set the stage for the beautiful kitchen design she ultimately executed for us. This was a high-end home, and though the home was traditional in its original state, built in 1939, we did want to blend new contemporary materials with the old character of the home. Donna did that perfectly. From the two-tone cabinetry, to the gorgeous granite and tile selections, to the functional layout of the space, not to mention the unique shelving she added at the end of the island for cookbooks, photos, and such. We ended up with a stunning kitchen, to say the least. Donna was really wonderful to work with. She listened intently, shared her knowledge and design ideas and then really managed the whole design, contractors, and installation seamlessly. She made sure everything was done to perfection. As a real estate professional, broker/owner, I am in homes, of all price points weekly. I see good kitchens, and I see bad kitchens... Kitchens are key to resale value and can make or break a deal. We met Donna McMahon on a home tour. It took only one meeting for us to ask her to help design a completely new kitchen from floor to ceiling. The first design opened the wall between kitchen and dining room. After realizing that this design would result in losing a much-loved China cabinet and rearrangement of other furniture, we decided to preserve our separate dining room space and instead slightly enlarge the opening between kitchen and dining room. At this point, Donna produced detailed plans for a kitchen that would have the same size as the present one but make much more efficient use of space, modernize the look, and enhance the storage space. There were several iterations of the design. Donna took into consideration a detailed wish list for the new cabinets and drawers. She was very patient and accommodating when we agonized over decisions and always offered good advice. She worked very well with our general contractor, with whom we had worked often before, and consulted with him on every major aspect of the design. She developed an essential loose-leaf folder with detailed technical drawings, views of the proposed kitchen layout from multiple vantage points, and full specs for all the new appliances, lighting fixtures and cabinets. She accompanied us to appliance, kitchen and lighting stores to show us a broad range of choices. In particular, she custom-designed the cherry wood cabinets by Wedgewood that give our new kitchen a rich look. A focal point is a large cabinet six-and-a-half feet wide, tapered on each end, and seven feet high, suspended ten inches above a new porcelain tile floor. This holds all our nonperishable food stocks. Donna ensured that every installation was to our liking. When it became evident that some corners of the quartz countertop should be altered to prevent running into sharp corners, she made sure that we were fully satisfied with the changes. When some metal racks she had ordered did not fit under the sink, she took them back and arranged a refund. Donna McMahon is a highly competent designer. She has good working relationships with vendors and excellent rapport with customers. She is attuned to the desires and aesthetic preferences of her clients and works hard to satisfy them. Our project was an odd sort of powder room -- the only bathroom on the first floor of our house, but a full bath because of the presense of a first floor bedroom adjacent to it. Donna McMahon (Kitchen Evolutions) took our ugly, dated powder room and made it beautiful, serene, contemporary and, importantly, accessible to anyone with a disability or in a wheelchair. I got a recommendation to Donna from a woman in my neighborhood. We begin our meetings in March 2014. I had a color palate in mind, the idea that I wanted disabled accessability, and some fun "bubble" tile that I wanted to incorporate. Donna took that information and built upon it. She asked insightful questions, brought samples to help hone my vision. She is a superb communicator, with a very relaxed and thoughtful style. Donna is not a designer who imposes her own opinions on you, or makes you feel pressured to choose something. She created three different designs for us, and over the course of four to five months, we revised and perfected the one we chose. (They were all terrific. We frankly could have chosen any one). Early on, we provided Donna with a budget range and she stuck to it. She brought us options on everything -- tiles, fixtures, etc. -- and allowed us to choose where we wanted to spend our budget (and where we didn't). Donna accommodated our busy full-time work and parent schedules, almost always meeting at night or on the weekends. The end product is breathtaking. Truly. And exactly what we wanted. I plan to do several project with Donna in the future -- all of my bathrooms and my kitchen -- until my house is absolutely perfect.

Donna also worked well with the general contractor and organized everything for the kitchen installer/contractor, including a binder full of every detail any one on the job could possibly need. From start to finish Donna was not only calm and delightful to work with, but she was the only person I found who had an artists eye and openness to look at our project with a fresh, creative perspective. We hired Donna McMahon to do our kitchen remodel and will hire her again. The design that she came up with was fantastic, it used all the space efficiently and moved the appliances to the positions that provided the best layout for our cooking needs. It allowed for us to be in the kitchen cooking together without getting in each others way in a small space. They also provided some added items that we wouldn't have thought about to make it more convenient to have a phone and TV in the kitchen without using up any counter space. When the cabinets arrived prior to the start of the project Donna came by to check to make sure they were what we ordered and werent damaged. We actually had one cabinet that was damaged so her diligence allowed for us to order a new cabinet without delay to the project. They completed the project in the time they specified and were very clean which allowed us to be in the house during the project.
