Kathy Daukant Interiors

My wife and I engaged Kathy Daukant Interior Design to do a complete "refresh" of the first floor of our home in Riverdale. FYI, it was our first time working with a designer. Kathy began the process with a 2-hour consultation at our house. Looking back, it is remarkable how many excellent suggestions she made at that time that we ended up implementing--this alone is a testament to her skill and knowledge. Over the next few months Kathy worked with us on furniture selection, window treatments, selection of a color palette (we also painted our entire house), lighting, rugs, accessories, etc. We are extremely pleased with both the process and the results. Not only is Kathy a highly capable designer and a true professional, she is also a delight to work with--she has a very personable and friendly manner. Highly recommended.

I have had the pleasure of working with Kathy on several projects, including one of my personal favorites - her own home in Toronto. Kathy is a wonderful interior designer to collaborate with. I would recommend her to anyone looking to do work on their home, anywhere from a major renovation, to furniture placement and decor within existing spaces.

I had the pleasure of working with Kathy on the renovation of our upstairs family bathroom. She is creative, responsive and very understanding of budget - what more could we ask for! We live in a small, 1926 North Toronto home where space is at a premium, and Kathy impressed with her creative recommendations for making the most of the footprint. She also designed a beautiful tile layout for our shower, using subway tiles and one-inch mosaics, and capped it all off by helping choose the perfect paint colour. The end result is a bright, beautiful oasis that everyone comments on. I'd welcome the chance to work with Kathy again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her for any design project.

We wanted to update all four of our bathrooms without doing major renovations and were delighted when Kathy agreed to work with us. We were working with a limited budget at this point, so she provided her vision for future renovations (complete with gorgeous drawings), and then proceeded to transform the spaces with paint, mirrors, lights and accessories. What a difference she made! The bathrooms are beautiful; the work completed within our times lines; and all within our budget. We will definitely ask Kathy back when we are ready for the bigger renovations. Thank you Kathy!

Kathy came highly recommended to us a couple years ago when we hired her to re-do our living room and dining room, then more recently we called her back to do our kitchen and bathrooms. She really understood our requirements and design aesthetic and was able to create beautiful solutions for us, thinking of things we would have never thought to do on our own. It's a real pleasure to recommend services when you have had a great experience. I found working with Kathy not just enjoyable but educational as well. Kathy worked with us to revise the floor plan for our new-build condo - it had not been well thought out in terms of how we would use the space. She came up with great plans that reflected how we would enjoy the space the most, and worked in great storage and features that took it from a boxy plan to one that really allowed us to feel it had been customized to our needs. She was able to produce the drawings for construction and electrical changes, so the developer could follow the new plan. We were downsizing from a townhouse to a condo so had to be very mindful of scale of furniture, mixing some of our old pieces with new purchases. Kathy helped us to see what would work best together to ensure we felt it expressed our sense of style - not a "prepackaged" design concept. It was great to have her advice when choosing all the finishes - there are so many choices! We are absolutely delighted with the final result and really enjoyed working through every step with Kathy's guidance - I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her!

Kathy did the design work for the renovation of my 1980's home earlier this year. Overall, she did a great job. We agreed on a contemporary-classic look and she did excellent work looking at all of the alternatives. I also felt that Kathy had a good sense of what I was looking for and whenever there were several alternatives we tended to agree on which ones were best. I am very happy with the end result.
