WARE architecture

Working with Karl was a smooth, creative and collaborative pleasure! My partner and I lived in our home for two years before deciding to renovate the two most used and most outdated rooms--the kitchen and main bath. We had definite ideas of how we wanted to make those two spaces more functional and pleasant. Karl took our ideas and elevated them to the next level, all the while being very aware and respectful of our budget. The renovation itself was also so smooth and painless (unheard of!) thanks to Karl's recommendation of contractor. All in all, I have the highest respect for Karl's skill, vision, judgement and character. The outcome of our renovations is stunning and having two beautiful new spaces has changed the quality of our daily lives in the best way.

We can't say enough good things about Karl! He drew plans for our mid-century kitchen remodel. His vision for our space was inspired, and really made us appreciate the value of using a great architect. Karl was able to see potential in our home that we could not have on our own. On a practical level, he listens well, responds quickly, and is overall just a great person to work with. We now have several options for different budgets as we move forward with our project. Highly recommend!

Tucked in the woods. A compliment to our home. Provide storage for equipment and workshop, a screened in porch, and a space for garden tools and supplies. Those were the needs expressed to the architect, and they were fulfilled. The materials and design were to extend from the home to the barn, just 30 feet away with landscaping to intertwine them both. As we and talked about the needs and potential habits in using the space Karl sketched out potential designs addressing adequate room for a truck and lawn equipment, a work bench, and the placement of a stairway for additional storage on an upper level. The space for garden tools and supplies became a separate room with its own entranceway for convenience. A large screened in porch was a must for entertainment, as it has become an extension of our home. Let's just say he heard us, and we got it. We couldn't be happier.

As a general contractor and carpenter, I found working with Karl at WARE architecture to be a great experience. He effectively communicated his design ideas, made sure that all decisions were made in a timely manner, and had the project so well put together ahead of time that my job was easy. The finished product is one that I am proud to say that I built. It not only looks great, it made creative and unique use of the space in a traditional bungalow.
