Jacob Strobl graduated Kansas State University in 2008, with a masters in architecture. Once he graduated, he began working at Mahlum Architects in Seattle. While working at Mahlum for four years - he gained experience working on all phases, of various institutional and healthcare projects. After leaving Mahlum in 2012 he began working at Callison Architects in Seattle. During his time at Callison - he gained expertise in all phases of design, and construction administration for retail projects. Jacob then started working at Johnston Architects in 2013. At Johnston architects, Jacob helped with all phases of design in residential, municipalities, and institutional projects. Jacob started his own business in June 2014 called Strobl Design. He is a licensed architect in the state of Washington. Jacob works on Single family residential design, multi-family residential design, small commercial design, remodels, and helping with the permit process.

Jacob is very personable and professional. What I liked best was that he was always responsive on questions or changes that we talked about. Jacob reworked the whole interior of our house and we enjoy it a lot. Especially love the bathroom.

Jacob Strobl of Strobl Design was instrumental in guiding us through our home renovation project. From our first interaction to our last, Jacob was professional, friendly, precise, creative and knowledgeable. After speaking with Jacob regarding the scope of our project, he provided a detailed estimate of cost (which proved to be very accurate). Not only did Jacob help us realize our vision for our home, he was also very helpful in coming up with some great ideas for the new layout. Thanks to Jacob we have kitchen island, something we never would have thought possible. Jacob did such an incredible job with the plans for our renovation and working through the city permitting process the plans were approved by the city engineers without a single ‘red-line’ allowing our project to start weeks earlier than originally expected. Now that we are into the construction phase, whenever we or our general contractor have a question, Jacob remains quick to respond. We feel very fortunate to have been referred to Strobl Design.

Strobl Design was the structural engineer for our home remodel project. I had heard horror stories about the difficulty in obtaining a permit from the County we live in, but he had the magic touch. The design, timeline, engineering, and communication were seamless. I couldn't be more pleased.

We used Jacob when finishing out our basement, and could not rate him higher. He attended meetings with our contractor (which is apparently not the norm), was on top of communication, on budget, and of course had a fantastic eye for design. We would certainly recommend him for any home renovation or design, and hope to call him again in the future.
