South Florida Stairs

South Florida Stairs completed our stair remodel this week. I want to share my experience with South Florida Stairs. I would say that Josh and his team provided an excellent customer experience all the way around, from the delivered outcome of the project to the super proactive communications throughout the engagement. Our family had a lot of back and forth on critical design decisions (horizontal railing versus glass, versus a more traditional spindle look). Josh was patient with us and provided much needed guidance as well as his opinions. In the end, we feel that we made the right decision by going with a modern glass look with wood elements so it wasn't over the top modern (our house is a Florida Spanish style home). I'm happy to have made the investment to go with a top quality company like South Florida Stairs. That decision reduced a lot of potential contractor stress on what was a critical project for our house. We now have a great feeling when we walk into our house. Next up, kitchen remodel (groan) :) One piece of advice: We had a parallel project to eliminate the carpeting in out loft and replace it with wood flooring. One of the struggles we had was matching the coloring of the new wood stairs (treads and railing) with the loft wood flooring. In retrospect, I would have done the stairs first and then selected the wood after the fact to match the stairs. It's too hard to select wood flooring and stair tread/railing flooring simultaneously.

They recently finished a nice glass, wood and stainless steel staircase for my daughter that was done professionally and in a timely fashion. 100% Satisfied! SF Stair respected my budget and delivered exactly what I requested. Exterior glass rail is BEAUTIFUL! My new interior floating stairs are a showstopper. Joe, my head installer, is meticulous and was great to have around. Overall our experience with contractors in Boca Raton has been very poor - but South Florida Stairs is a cut above the rest. Josh runs a great shop - he and his team had very cool ideas for me and helped design the home of my dreams. I can't recommend them enough! Keep in mind, this is very detailed work, their business is booming and you have to be patient to get the best. It's worth the wait.

I have never been happier with a construction project in my life! I walked into the showroom without an appointment and I was greeted warmly and the owner, Josh, took time to sit down and talk about my project. He offered some great design choices and along with my own, came up with a concept I loved. Darren, the installer, is an incredible craftsman along with being kind, polite and neat. If you are looking for a beautiful staircase showpiece in your home, you cannot do better!

I drove over to The East coast of FL from Naples to meet with this company. I showed pictures and went over everything I wanted in the total remodel I was doing. Met with Josh and he assured my husband I he understood what we wanted. A couple weeks later we got a price and contract. Mid way through the planning the stairs had to change from the steel and concrete to wood due to engineering and weight. Unfortunately that's where our "meeting of the minds" went astray. I had a vision of white and glass stair case as per my pictures and first meeting. I was given a stringer stair of "Popular" wood, which is a light tan naturally. I was told I shouldn't paint! I was upset and told them I was getting my vision for $45,000.00! After many many weeks our stairs were finally painted and done. Unfortunately our contractors had put a couple knicks in the soft wood treads, I called/emailed 7 times with 1 being returned. Even after I agreed I would pay the $950 to do the minor work so I didn't lose any warranty going with another company. I am now having to reprint the stairs due to the primer not being sufficiently being applied and the popular woods natural color showing through (along with grooves). As you can summarize this company would not be one I recommend, due to no customer service and work being not what you invest so much if your money in. Please shop around and see actual stairs not pictures.

Renovations are never easy and finding honest, reliable contractors... even harder. My husband and I renovated a 1983 home in West Palm Beach last summer. South Florida Stairs is one of the FEW companies in this county I would recommend. They are honest, reliable, talented, hard-working, precise and amazing craftsmen. Josh is a true visionary. He loves what does and it shows through in his beautiful work. Our staircase is the focal point of our home. We are truly, truly happy with the results. We 100% highly recommend South Florida Stairs.

Wow, what amazing people! They installed a glass staircase, with glass panels both side of my balcony, which is about 25 feet long. Unfortunately, they supplied glass for the balcony that was 42" high, instead of the 36" height that we had specified. No biggie, I thought. We all make mistakes and they can just remove the glass and cut it down to the 36". Wrong! I learned that once glass has been tempered (for extra strength) it cannot be cut! We were so upset, but not for us. We were upset for Josh (the owner of the company) who is the nicest guy you could ever wish to work with. We knew at that point that there was nothing he could do but trash the glass and supply all new glass. I can't even imagine how much that must have cost him! When I made the call to Josh, without hesitation, he immediately accepted responsibility for the mistake. No excuses, no blaming anyone else and no trying to talk us in to accepting it. How many times can you say that about a Florida contractor?? I also have to say that the installers that installed the glass and handrails were not just pleasant, polite and professional, but were absolute perfectionists. It is rare for me to write reviews as, generally, I cannot be bothered but, in this case, I just had to write a rave review. The finished job looks spectacular! Thank you to the great office staff, also.

South Florida Stairs installed a beautiful railing in my home. The meticulous attention to detail from their craftsman was wonderful, just perfect. From the assistance given by the owner, Josh Cote, with the selection of the design to the timely completion of the railing was great. Remodeling would be an effortless, stress less, most pleasurable experience if every company and their workman would conduct their business in this manner.
