We had the best experience with Joe at Rossmore Construction. We wanted a complete update of a very dated family room, from new walls to new floors to a new fireplace. He helped us come up with a plan and then managed the entire project. All of the contractors that came to our house were professional and very talented. He responded to our many texts and calls and stayed within the proposed budget. We can't wait to work with him again.

We contacted Joe at Rossmore Construction after a referral from an associate of ours. We wanted to demolish our existing Single Story Ranch & build a new 2-1/2 Story home on our existing lot in Needham. We wanted to keep as much of the original foundation & footprint as possible in order to stay within Zoning & budget restrictions. Joe and his team came by and we discussed various ways to design & build a new approx 4000 sqft Home to stay within budget as best as possible given the challenges of materials & lumber price increases during the pandemic. It definitely was challenging to stay within budget as the price of materials kept climbing but Joe helped us to navigate that through flexibility with various subcontractors and with scope options and creative ideas. We are really enjoying our new home now and very happy that we Contracted our project with Rossmore and wouldn’t hesitate to work with Joe and his team again.

We were looking to hire someone to remove our deck and replace it with a larger one. We received 3 estimates including the estimate from Rossmore Carpentry. We decided to hire Rossmore Carpentry not only because the price was within our budget but because Joe Hackett explained, in detail, what they would do, the products they would be using, and where we could go to check out these products before installation. Where we decided to use a different product, they were very accommodating in getting the product. Their attention to detail was very much appreciated. Joe even explained, since our new deck would be longer than the longest piece of the flooring the manufacturer makes, he sent a sketch to show two options for installation. One with seams and one with framing the flooring into 2 sections. We went with the latter, and IT LOOKS GREAT!! We would highly recommend Rossmore Carpentry!!! We will definitely be using them again. Joe and his team from Rossmore built us what was effectively a brand new ~900 square foot composite deck, including framing out and finishing the space needed to drop our hot tub into it. He was patient in spending time with us to make sure we decided on the best materials for our budget (Azek Mahogany decking and Index Hampton Railings in this case), “held our hand” in designing the appropriate layout, and stayed flexible when we learned that we needed to add an egress to our basement. Allowing for needed changes, the project came in near the original budget and on-time. We’re considering a kitchen remodel and Joe will be our first call. He’s personable, honest and hard working and we’d be happy to recommend him to our friends. The space turned out beautifully!

Joe with his team built the deck attached to the back of my house. This project started from scratch and also included cutting out a new door way to the deck and replacing few windows. During estimation phase we discussed the project item by item. Joe was explaining all the details, giving advice, and at the same I didn't feel any pressure, and Joe was very responsive on my requests. He took care of the permit. And started the job as it was scheduled. Communication was very easy and timely with high quality of work. One of the items of my project was the replacement of few windows, and one of the brand new windows came with the cracked glass. Joe took case of all the warranty arrangement and the vendor fixed this window without any involvement from my side. I really enjoyed working with Joe, and I highly recommend him.

The job was exterior carpentry on a 1920s garage renovation that was sure to have a few surprises under its stucco exterior. The garage door was framed-out and ready for a window 2 weeks from the initial phone call, although it was a small project in our grand scheme, the extensive experience of owner/supervisor, Joe Hackett, troubleshot some tricky structural issues. As we continue our budget conscience renovation, we are approaching it in stages guided by the generous advice and professional contacts provided by Joe. Nice guys, good work, reasonable price

We hired Joe / Rossmore to build a deck and install two shelves at our house in September 2017. The quality and level of professionalism with the work was excellent. Additionally, working with Joe is a pleasure. He's a great guy, easy to talk to, listens to what you have to say, etc. I would recommend Rossmore to friends and family and hope to, personally, work with them again on other projects at our house. To be balanced, though, if there's one area where there could have been improvements, it would have been through better managing to a timeline and also communicating delays more effectively with us. Our project took longer than expected, and there were times when we had to call Rossmore and push for answers. The best professionals in any industry know how to effectively and proactively manage this dialog with the customer. An easy fix for Rossmore, so I hope they do this in the future. Overall, though, great job and great people!

Joe and his team at Rossmore Carpentry were excellent! I would highly recommend. We just had a 16x20 deck added onto the back of our house and couldn't be more pleased with the result. From the moment I submitted interest, Joe called me within 10 minutes and was professional and thorough throughout the entire process. If you use anyone else you'd be crazy. Thanks Joe and team! :)

Rossmore installed all the wood trim, baseboard and doors in our in-law addition. Did a great job, on time and great workmanship and friendly workers.

We're really pleased with the work Joe and his team did - they were very professional, clean and timely, and the finished product looks outstanding. We had them rebuild our basement stairs, remodel the basement and perform other projects throughout the house.

We were impressed with the response and quick estimate after contacting Joe with Rossmore Carpentry. He gave us a fair quote that was well below other estimates we had received for the job. I anticipated a late start date because of the busy summer season but he was able to schedule the work to begin the week following the initial site visit-- this was just great for us! His team was efficient and thorough and finished our porch in three days. They did a fantastic job and it looks great! We are really pleased with the quality of work and craftsmanship. Joe and his team were a pleasure to work with. I will definitely contact him again for any renovation projects. He was very responsive, polite and got the job done! I would recommend him for any project-- he is just great.

Rossmore Carpentry rebuilt and redesigned our back deck, extending the area and adding an extra entrance. The project was completed on time, and within budget, and turned out beautifully. We're really pleased with the work Joe and his team did - the team was very professional, clean and timely, and the finished product looks outstanding. Joe is extremely good to work with - he gave us great professional advice on how to maximize the space we had available and on the design elements that would make the deck a place we'll enjoy for years to come.

Joe Hackett, now with Rossmore Carpentry and Construction, is an absolutely amazing craftsman. He literally built a good portion of my residence while in the employ of his prior company. I am very happy to see he has now formed his own company. As I have for many years now, I will continue to work with him on the various smaller projects that come up from time to time that are incident to owning and maintaining a home in good repair.

I have worked with Rossmore Carpentry (and Joe Hackett, in particular) many times. They have done everything from custom build bookshelves, fireplace surrounds, a media center / firewood cabinet (it was brilliant!), an entire office, and more. My favorite project Joe did was a custom kitchen floor created piece-by-piece, like a giant jigsaw puzzle, from reclaimed wood we purchased from a house that was being torn down. Joe Hackett and Rossmore Carpentry are talented, committed, and will listen to your needs. I can't recommend them highly enough!

"We needed to replace/repair the front stairs on my mother's home. I can't say enough good things about Rossmore Carpentry. My mother's front stairs leading up to the house were in extremely bad shape and were becoming a safety hazard. However, it's a really old home and we didn't want to spend a fortune on replacing them. We contacted a few other companies and explained our concerns and pretty much everyone came back with extremely high quotes that entailed a full replacement of the stairs. We found Rossmore and contacted Joe. He fully understood our concerns that safety and functionality were more important. Joe started work on 12/6 and was done in two days. He actually did end up replacing the majority of the stairs (risers and decking) and while "pretty" was't our goal, the stairs are absolutely perfect. And to top it off, his final bill came in a shade under his best case bid. I could not recommend Rossmore more highly and will be using him in the near future for some work on our home "

Joe Hackett of Rossmore Carpentry responded immediately to our request for an estimate. He came to our house and assesessed our rotting back porch. He came up with a beautiful solution to repair the porch rather than tearing it down and starting over. He was able to keep its period style. The estimate was fair and professional. He did the work very quickly to accommodate us for the graduation party we were having. His carpenters did excellent work. They cleaned up the work area thoroughly. All in all, would highly recommend them!

Joe handled a variety of projects for us, including construction project management, home maintenance, and carpentry for us. Joe is very responsive and professional. He shows up on time.
