The short of this review is to NOT purchase a home or do any business with J. Fuller! They lack integrity, are unprofessional, negligent, & dishonest. We built a home in 2020 with them. Since then we have had 2 roof leaks. One of the leaks was under warranty, which they attempted to repair the interior ceiling from the damage 4 times! The vice president of J.Fuller came to look after the 3rd repair to which they brought in a new company to replace the Sheetrock & paint. The fourth repair occurred & it STILL looks like there are speed bumps in the ceiling with every Sheetrock seam visible. Multiple attempts to contact the project manager & vice president have been made, and after nearly a year, we have heard nothing. Along with this repair, the construction workers left their bags of trash in our driveway, and a deep clean to clean the sheet rock dust out of our kitchen & living room was supposed to occur, which never did.
The year-end builder warranty repair process was such a headache! Most issues that we had were met with pushback saying it wasn’t covered under warranty. For example, from the time we moved into our home, cold air would rush in through the hood vent over our stove, causing at least a 15 degree temperature difference in that area. Multiple contacts were made to J. Fuller & each time we were told, everything was correct with it. We had an outside contractor look at it who told us it was missing the damper & you could see daylight when looking up through the hood vent, definitely not normal! Once again, we brought it to the attention of J. Fuller, who argued it once again was correct & we could pay out of pocket for the damper if we wanted it unless we could prove the hood vent required one. After researching the owner’s manual online, it was revealed a damper is required in the hood vent. The corner of our driveway cracked within a month of us moving in due to poor construction as it was missing a seam to prevent such cracking. When contacted, J. Fuller denied the repair citing normal wear & tear was kit covered.
Another big issue is our neighborhood has been closed out for 1.5 years & we as homeowners STILL do not have control of the HOA. We have had one HOA meeting with 2 employees from J. Fuller back in April 2021, in which there was much misinformation given & inability to answer questions effectively from the homeowners. One of the main issues holding back the turnover is the wet/dry pond for the neighborhood required by Wake County for water runoff is not approved by Wake County. In the HOA meeting, we as homeowners were assured multiple times that it was approved & they just needed to locate the approval paperwork. Summer 2022, repairs were made to the wet/dry pond, but J. Fuller did not follow the plan that Wake County had approved, so it did not pass inspection. Since then there has been no follow-up or information
