Never actually wrote a review that starts “if I could give it zero stars I would” but, here I am!!
We went to jeromes to purchase a mattress because out old jeromes mattress began sinking where we sleep leading to back pain and horrible nights sleep. This went on for quite some time before I finally reached out. Only to find out the mattress was discontinued and yes, in fact, our mattress was defective. We went shopping to buy a new mattress at jeromes bc we had a credit from our last mattress.
As we walked through the mattress section, the Salesman was really nice but admittedly newer. So we had a few questions he had a little trouble answering. He brought in a senior salesman to help us. After looking at similar mattresses to the one we had, he directed us to their mattress that is similar to the Sleep Number “but better” per the sales associate. He gave us the run down, walked us through all the bells and whistles, and we were pretty impressed. But had a lot of questions. He repeatedly assured us that this is the most comfortable on the market, that there is nothing better, and that he guaranteed this would relieve our back pain and poor sleep. He said multiple times this is the best mattress on the market, even better, more comfortable, and quieter than the Sleep Number. I prefer a softer mattress, which I told him several times, and he said even at the lowest setting for pressure you still feel supported. Even as we were leaving I still had reservations and he again assured me we would love the mattress. I laid down on a pillow top mattress to try since we hadn’t laid on that one and the associate said to me “the mattress you’re getting can be any mattress you want it to be. If you want it to be a pillow top, it can be a pillow top”. So, we purchased it.
We get the mattress, so excited to FINALLY have a good nights sleep. We follow the directions which were very straightforward and easy to follow. We pick “our numbers” and go to sleep. Slept ok but still curious about if I was happy with the setting Bc I wasn’t blown away the way he had promised. Night 2 I woke up several times to adjust. And every night since then I have slept well or comfortably. At the lowest setting I am completely unsupported and wake up with killer back pain. The weird thing too is that though it’s at its “softest” setting it still feels like something is poking you, like princess and the pea. I think it’s the air bags that don’t completely deflate or something. It’s so weird! And it’s not quiet, as promised. The air shifts are surprisingly loud under your ears and it sometimes makes a buzzing sound. The firmer you make the mattress the more pressure you feel on high pressure points such as hips and shoulders. There isn’t a number that I have found that I can be comfortable with. I hate this mattress. We feel completely duped by the sales associate. He blatantly lied to our face, made promises about the product and our satisfaction that are far from reality, and told us things we wanted to hear just so he would get a big sale. I know they work on commission at Jeromes and it’s clear why he would have motivation to push this mattress. It’s NOTHING like he promised. Nothing. I’m having to sleep in the guest bedroom some nights Bc I’m so uncomfortable.
I have emailed all of this to the customer service people and have been told “all sales are final”. And I am repeating myself by saying that this is about the fact we were lied to and purchased a product that isn’t at all what we were promised. I am a Nurse and mother to 4 small kids, sleep in incredibly important to me. They don’t care. They don’t care that the product sucks or that we’re completely dissatisfied. They don’t care that I have back pain every morning from this crappy mattress. Their customer service is a joke. I’m filing a complaint with the better business bureau as well. It’s not ok to lie to your customers to increase sales. And it’s not ok that this behavior is supported by customer service.

The sales rep showed my wife and I the Murano bed frame with storage drawers. When we said we wanted it the sales rep typed everything up and told us the price for the set we wanted was $2300. When the delivery guys showed up with the bedroom set they have the wrong bed frame. It turns out the sales rep wrote the invoice with the wrong SKU. The frame we wanted was actually $600 more. Jerome's said they were sorry but did they do anything to make it right, no. They just told us, "Sorry that is price and there is nothing we can do about it." That is a direct quote from the sales manager at the El Cajon store. Why should we have to pay for their mistake? We said we wanted the storage bed frame, and they told us a price. Jeromes did nothing to make this right other than saying they will sell us the storage frame for $600 more than the price they already told us it would cost. All anyone would say is, "I'm sorry." Saying those words means nothing if don't actually do anything to make it right. Saying that you will deliver the item if we pay the difference is not making it right.
The best part was the sales rep tried to pass it off as a "miscommunication." How could it be a miscommunication? She showed us the storage frame. We specifically said we wanted a frame that had drawers. We were standing right next to the Murano storage frame and said we want this.
So because of the mix-up we had to wait till 10:00 at night for our furniture to be delivered. This meant our young children could not get to sleep until the delivery guys had finished which wasn't until after 11:00.
This is the worst customer experience I've ever had. We've shopped at Jeromes many times over the past 10 years but after today my wife and I will never step in a Jerome's store again. We will do our best to make sure no one else does as well.

Jerome's deeply regrets the situation which has occurred. It is never our intent to inconvenience our customer's. However, we are humans and mistakes do happen. As careful as we are, this is not a common occurrence, it is important that our customers review their invoices for accuracy as well. The issue has been addressed internally in an effort to prevent this from happening in the future.

I just visited Jerome's new showroom in Anaheim looking for a sleeper sofa. I was immediately greeted and had a great customer experience. The process was simple and easy, and they were able to help us find what we want.
PROS:

Good selection of overall products
CONS:
Bought at 2:10, 2 pm is cutoff for same-day delivery
Small selection of sleeper sofas
Overall, would visit and purchase from Jerome's again!

When looking for reasonably priced furniture and decor, and quick delivery, I head to Jerome's. I am impatient when having to wait 6-8 weeks for furniture. With Jerome's, your furniture arrives the same week you place your order.

We were looking for a fold - out bed for a small room. They only had two styles available, so selection was a bit lacking. The bed we chose was of decent quality, especially when we added a foam top pad to the mattress. The bed serves it's purpose & we got a great mechanical guarantee with it as well. The price was reasonable.

As a military family, every 2 - 3 years when it's time to move, we always have a dilemma: Do we let the military movers take our belongings early - resulting in sitting in an empty house for a month? Or do we let them take the stuff a few days before we move, leaving us in a new empty place for a month when we arrive at the new destination? BUT, when the duty station was in Hawaii, the belongings were taken from North Carolina to Hawaii and took a few months... by boat. Our FINAL journey was from Hawaii, back to California. We bought our forever home in Southern California, knowing that we would have to wait a few months for our car and belongings to arrive. But one thing we planned on was getting new bedroom furniture the day we got off the plane in San Diego. And we wanted to stay in our new home the first night. We remembered (from living in SoCal many years before being moved around) that Jerome's delivers the SAME day you purchase their furniture.
We got off the plane, rented a car, and headed straight to Jerome's before going anywhere else. They took their time helping us pick exactly what I had always dreamed of for our forever home. We purchased over $5,000 worth of furniture that day, and headed to get the sheets, towels and groceries. When we arrived at our house, we were greeted by the Jerome's delivery crews who brought in our new furniture, set it up, cleaned up and took their boxes with them. All of our new "forever" furniture in our "forever home" is gorgeous. You may not think it's a big deal to get your furniture the same day you buy it. But to a military family who, on one end of the move or the other, is forced to sleep on the floor or rent something, this is HUGE. We've since gone back and bought lots of accent chairs and other things to keep the "forever" dream alive. Thank you Jerome's for the consistent excellent customer service over the past 20 years I've shopped there.

My wife and I purchased a dining table and chair set from Jerome's last month.
The price was very reasonable.
After having the set for a week or so we noticed a few scratches.
Jerome's immediately sent a replacement piece.
Great store!
We will be back.
