Spurling Design

Jeri Spurling , principal at Spurling Design, was commissioned by the Bass Harbor Memorial LIbrary in Tremont, Maine, to design an addition for children and young adults, and to renovate part of the existing library. Jeri worked well with a committee made up of library trustees and community members. Her design reflected the culture of the town, captured the elements important for us to be incorporated, and was mindful of our limited budget. Jeri has met all deadlines. She is thorough in her preparation, is pleasant to work with and is a good listener. I highly recommend her .

Spurling Design worked with our committee to design an addition for the Bass Harbor Memorial Library. Jeri listened to our needs and created a plan that is both beautiful and practical. She is skilled at working with a large group of people, staying on task to meet deadlines, considering costs, energy efficiency, flow, and function. A native Mainer, she "gets" our small town ways. Jeri has a knack for coming up with low-cost solutions for problem areas, tight or non conforming spaces She guided us through "phase one," resulting in a concept design to start our fundraising campaign. We look forward to working with her again through the building process.

Our local library (I'm on the Board) contracted with Spurling Design to take our ideas and turn them into plans. Jeri listens extremely well and makes her point without having to "disagree" with others. As we are just at the intitial stages of our efforts, there will be more to report later, but relative to the work to date, I am extremely happy.

This woman worked for me and a group of people doing a library expansion. She and her engineering associate did a great job. She had practical knowledge and artistic creativity. She exceeded our expectations.
