Founded in 1991, Jay Baker Architects has produced a body of work recognized for design excellence at local, regional and national levels. For contributions as practitioner, teacher and volunteer in service of the built environment, Jay Baker was honored as a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects in 2002. Jay Baker Architects believes that in order to make architecture of enduring value, we must embrace the context in which it is to be made. Consistently present within our work is the conviction that architecture should convey a sense of place – a sense that connotes both the spirited and the fitting, that which is original yet readily familiar.

Working with Jay Baker was indeed a great pleasure. He was able to understand my expectations, and our communication was never in question. Although I have heard many people express their frustrations and difficulties in working with their architects, I can honestly say that my entire experience was as near perfect as any such experience could be. I have recommended Jay Baker Architects to friends and acquaintances on many occasions, and I will continue to do so.

Working with Jay Baker and his team was a great experience. Jay Baker had a great initial vision for my kitchen remodel. His team did an exceptional job of two things: providing knowledgeable and thoughtful answers to my questions and then finalizing all of the small details that made my project turn out so well. It was evident very early on that this was the right team for me to work with. Their eye for design, ability to listen and customize the plan to my tastes, and their experience all made for a great experience. I look forward to working with Jay and his team when my next project comes around. Thank you.

Exceptional professional work. Jay designed exactly the home we wanted. Easy to work with and receptive to our ideas. Provided us w a beautiful country home in Brenham, TX. traditional and very comfortable living. A job well done.

Jay Baker Architects designed a magnificent kitchen addition in our historic home. It's now the room where we spend most of our time. They also helped us rethink and execute our outdoor space which is not only more functional but really beautiful. The entire team was joy to work with and the end result is quite simply perfect.

For us, like many others, building a home is a once in a lifetime event. It is also generally the largest and most personal investment one ever makes, so getting everything right is not just a goal, it's essential. Our home is 5,000 SF on a complex site. It hit all the basic targets: on time and on budget. But what was most meaningful about the experience was Jay's ability to translate our inchoate desires into wood and brick in a way that fits us like a glove and - by general acclaim - is absolutely beautiful. It feels like home and makes us proud. What more could you ask?

We just completed a major remodel on our home with Jay Baker Architects. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! The entire team was extremely professional, diligent and hard working-not to mention really nice people. They stayed true to the historical significance of the house while also making it more modern and livable. We are so pleased with the final outcome and highly recommend these amazing architects.
