Vic and his people did incredible work. Our kitchen was a small project, but they put a great deal of time, effort, and enthusiasm into it. Vic's suppliers provided great products, and they were installed with professionalism. The kitchen looks better than we thought it could when we started the project.

In 2022, we decided to add a new kitchen and substantially remodel our mid-1960s Edmonds rambler. After reading many on-line reviews and meeting with several contractors we decided to go with Johnson and Sons.....and we are so very happy that we did. From the very start we were impressed with how open, honest and responsive Vic Johnson was, a trend that continued throughout our project. As you might imagine, a significant remodel and addition to a 60-year old home is likely to bring with it surprises and our remodel was no exception. Despite the many challenges encountered, Johnson and Son and their subcontractors readily overcame them. Among the many lessons we learned during our remodel was the value of quality subcontractors. Vic's relationship with his subs in some cases extend more than a decade and the depth of these relationships was reflected by the quality and timeliness of their work. All in all we feel that the workmanship, attention to detail and care shown by all involved in our remodel was superb. We highly recommend Johnson and Sons to anyone looking to remodel their home.

We recently worked with Johnson and Sons for the third time, and once again, they exceeded our expectations. Having previously remodeled two bathrooms and repaired flood damage, we entrusted them with our kitchen remodel. Johnson and Sons Construction gave us an estimate to replace everything but the flooring in the primary bathroom. It was beyond my budget and Vic was very amenable to reducing the scope of work to a point that the re-do was affordable. They gave great recommendations for the finishes and styles and worked with my work schedule to make this project happen. I appreciated their flexibility and they were on schedule and on time when they promised. I'm very happy with the results!!!

We chose Johnson and Sons for a kitchen remodel in late fall 2022. After working with Vic Johnson and cabinet designers, we decided to remodel most of the first floor of our home. We chose a new kitchen layout and configuration, new cabinets, new appliances, replaced a sliding glass door with french doors, replaced all 6 panel doors throughout the first floor with single panel doors, updated electrical switches and outlets and added new lighting ceiling cans and pendants, replaced all trim with updated craftsman style headers above windows and doors, and repainted the entire first floor. Vic and his team were extraordinarily friendly and accommodating, answering a multitude of questions before and throughout the design and build process. They were extremely knowledgeable about construction, and helped guide decision-making based on their experience and towards an eye to cost. All in all, they wanted to make sure we were happy in all aspects of the design and build. Anytime there were snafus or things not going to plan (which happens often, even in the best of remodels), they were bending over backwards to make things right. I highly recommend Johnson and Sons Construction for any remodel.

Vic Johnson and his crew were great from the start to finish of our kitchen remodel: quality work, great communication, helpful in problem solving. All subcontractors and vendors provided quality work and products. Cost was fair and competitive. Will definitely call on them for future projects.

I interviewed several contractors before choosing Johnson & Sons, and chose them after speaking to three of their references. They received outstanding recommendations that went FAR above “5 stars…they are great.” Each of the references had a story about how their experience with Johnson & Sons exceeded expectations, about how Vic was a superior project manager, about how they hired Johnson & Sons for project after project. After hearing horror stories from people who had worked with others, I am delighted to report that our experience with Johnson & Sons for a master bath remodel was accomplished on time, under budget, and as promised! Vic excels at communication, Jon is a skilled contractor, Tony is skilled at almost everything. Another item for the “plus” column is that Johnson & Sons has found success using certain sub-contractors repeatedly, and we have benefitted from those long-standing relationships.

We hired Johnson and Sons Construction to completely remodel our main level half bathroom. Vic Johnson led us through the project, putting us in contact with several vendors to pick out materials. When the bathroom was finished no details were missed and the bathroom came out beautifully. We waited several weeks to see how the bathroom works for every day usage and we have absolutely no complaints. Vic and his brothers were great to work with and the sub contractors all professional, pleasant and capable. Thanks for a great job done.

My review of Vic Johnson and Sons Construction is summarized as 10/10; excellent. The work was made more challenging by Covid19 but Vic and his team of contractors performed cost efficient, timely work that is structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing. I am impressed by the high quality of the work done by carpenters, plumbers, electricians, tilers and mirror installation crew. All did quality work, on time; they were courteous and friendly, did immaculate work and cleaned up afterward. It was a pleasure watching them work. Vic kept us apprised of the schedule, helped us make decisions and explained steps and costs. Friendly, forthright and professional service.

This professional team compliments each other seamlessly, resulting in truly extraordinary quality and service. Goals, budget and deadlines are consistently met. Overall a pleasant experience. We would not hesitate to use them again.

Johnson & Sons remodeled our 1990's kitchen and replaced all of the flooring on the first floor and staircase of our home during the months of May - August of 2022. We met with multiple local companies to bid the work and Vic's bid came in under or comparable to the other estimates we received. We chose their company based on referral, price, and comfort level with Vic. Vic is fantastic to work with. He is knowledgeable, responsive, and creates a culture of partnership on his team's projects. This was our first time tackling a renovation project of this scope and using a general contractor. Vic and his team made the experience comfortable and as enjoyable as it could be considering we had no kitchen! :) There was a long wait time to get the project started due to Covid-caused supply issues on Johnson and Sons other jobs (we originally met with Vic in June of 2021 and the work did not start until May of 2022). It was hard to be patient, but it actually worked in our favor. Being able to choose and purchase materials in advance meant no supply issues or back orders once our project got started. Every sub that Vic and Jon used on our job or vendor he referred us to was professional, kind, and did a great job. If we ever had a question about quality or how the job was progressing (and we had a lot -- remember we'd never done this before!) Vic was patient, flexible, and worked with us until we were satisfied. As our job progressed, issues within our home were uncovered that were not in the scope of work included in our kitchen remodel. A water leak was found in an adjacent wall when kitchen drywall was removed, and holes in our roof were discovered when the electrician was in the attic running conduit. Even though these setbacks were not part of our kitchen remodel, Vic's guys jumped in and found solutions or recommended sub contractors to solve problems. There were multiple times that we had questions and within minutes either Vic or Jon were on site to address a concern or answer a question-- even after our job was complete. We could not be more excited about our new kitchen or pleased with our choice of contractor. We are already planning to hire Johnson and Sons again to renovate our primary bathroom!

Johnsons and Sons, once again, make the vision a realty. New floors, cabinets, countertops, paint, lighting in our Laundry Room/Mud Room-entryway (and new fireplace!). Top to bottom: perfect. Vic's communication throughout the project never left us guessing who was coming when and what we could expect on a day-to-day basis. He was always very clear on the cost and timing, no surprises. Jon gets the work DONE; I'm not sure there's anything he cannot do. And Tony . . . his tile work is second to none. We've asked Tony to tackle many and varied tile projects; his attention to detail has never left us disappointed and his finished product has always been the highlight. The Johnson and Sons subs (flooring, drywall, paint, electrical) are courteous, professional, and timely. When things are "missed" or overlooked (as ALWAYS happens with ANY project), the subs promptly return to get the work done, never a problem. Two more rooms to go and Johnson and Sons will have touched every room of our house.

We are very happy with our new master bath. All of the subcontractors were top notch. We would definitely use Johnson and Sons Construction again.

Vic and his crew, along with the subs were on time, professional and did everything that we asked for on time and within budget. They were awesome! Vic gave some great tips that saved us money and got us what we wanted. We are so impressed and happy with the results. The scope was a complete kitchen remodel, refinish our hardwood floors and refurbish our downstairs powder room.

I had Johnson and Sons Construction out to renovate a bathroom a few years ago and they did a great job. When I hired someone else on a friend's referral to redo my kitchen and it went horribly wrong, Vic was able to help me get everything back on track with some great referrals and advice and then worked the last pieces of the project into their schedule on short notice. They did a great job all around and I highly recommend their services!

We have used these fine folks three times, most recently for a bathroom remodel. They are experienced, reliable, honest and usually have excellent ideas to improve your project. Their work crew is always clean and courteous. Their "tile guy" Tony does excellent work. The Johnsons---Vic and John---are running an excellent family business.

Vic and his team are amazing! They took our terrible tiny kitchen and turned it into the showpiece of the house. It is the kitchen of our dreams and we love to show it off. A couple years later and we still absolutely love the work they did and have hired them for every project since! As impressive as the actual work, I really want to compliment their communication, we always felt in the loop and like we were really being listened to. At every step of the way we felt like they were really doing everything they could to make our ideas into reality, not that they were trying to sell us on anything. You will definitely underestimate how stressful and disruptive large remodels can be and you want your contractor to be a trusted partner in the process, and that's Johnson & Sons.

I had a horrible little galley kitchen with a partial wall that separated it from the living and dining room area. It had very little counter space and was in desperate need of an update (circa 1983). I hired Johnson and Sons and they did not disappoint. I now have an amazing open concept kitchen with tons of counterspace. It still amazes me how big the kitchen and living area feels now. Ok so down to some details. They replaced cabinets and countertops, installed an island, tile backsplash, new flooring and scraped and resurfaced the ceiling (I had the old acoustic ceiling) for the kitchen, dining room and living room. Vic, Jon and crew were professional, honest and did beautiful work. Vic provided guidance when picking out materials and kept communication with me throughout the remodel so that I knew what to expect and when to expect it. My house is an older home and it is not without its issues. I really appreciate how hard Jon and crew worked to make the old look new again like the extra texture on the walls to help match to new ceiling and find solutions for a few of the uncovered issues like a joist where the hood vent needed to be, beat up base trim and older electrical wiring. They really went above and beyond, and I couldn’t be happier with my kitchen remodel. I highly recommend Johnson and Sons Construction and would hire them again.

AliMay Interiors teamed up with Johnson and Sons Construction on a 1997 split level to create a beautiful open floor plan filled with natural light and room to entertain. The middle wall separating the eat in kitchen and living room was removed, kitchen layout was reconfigured, floors were refinished and lighting was added. The end result is stunning and couldn’t have happen without the team and we can do it attitudes!

We had Vic and his crew completely remodel our basement bathroom. Everyone that worked on the project was on time, tidy, and did a great job on their particular part of the job. They were all very professional and friendly, everything was completed in the time frame Vic had set. We are thrilled with the work they did on our bathroom. We would absolutely hire Johnson and Sons again.

We had water loss in our house. In addition to the restoration work, we decided to do a broader remodel at the same time. We actually hired a different company that promised to make our house all new again, but we had a lot of delays and communication issues, and ultimately walked away from that company. We had already moved into temporary housing for the remodel, and needed another contractor to step in quickly. Johnson and Sons rose to the occasion and were able to get us back into our house quicker than the first company would have. Our remodel was basically the whole house. Floors, interior paint, all 3 bathrooms and the kitchen. The price was competitive. The timeline was good. The communication was outstanding, which was very important to us. Vic was always available to answer questions and proactive in letting us know what was going on. Jon and Tony were patient and willing to make adjustments as requested. We did discover an issue based on a previous contractor's faulty work, but Vic was quick to explain the situation and give us options and prices. We would definitely recommend them to others.

This team does phenomenal work and they are a pleasure to work with for home renovation! Extremely customer focused!!!

We are so happy to have worked with Johnson and Sons on our project. After nearly 6 months of planning and bouncing around with an unresponsive contractor, we were struggling to get our project (an 8’ x 20’ addition + master bed and bath remodel) off the ground. Once we connected with Johnson and Sons, Vic quickly spent time getting to know us, understanding our vision, and offering feedback and recommendations. We were able to start work as soon as all of the permits cleared. Throughout the process, Vic and his team were transparent, courteous, and communicative. I especially appreciated Vic’s responsiveness throughout the process. He was proactive in giving updates and provided same day responses to any questions or comments from us. Vic and his team were nothing short of professional and I would recommend them to anyone looking to have bed/bath/remodel work done in the area.

Our experience was wonderful. I would highly recommend this company. We love the job they did in putting up shiplap on our vaulted ceiling and getting our living room to be just how we wanted it.

I had trouble finding someone willing to do my small-ish size project in this market, and Vic was great. When he did his scoping visit I knew he was the guy. The accommodated my project schedule, he and his brother did great work, was timely and complete... what else can you ask for as a homeowner. Highly recommend using Johnson and Sons!

Description of Work: Interior remodel: kitchen, master bathroom and all associated flooring. We waited 1 year from project completion before writing this review for the 'honeymoon' period to wear off... but it never did. We went into this project with our eyes wide open, having heard so many stories of other peoples remodel projects ending in less than stellar results. Our experience with Johnson and Sons, from planning and project quoting thru demo and remodel, more than met our expectations. We would not hesitate in using them again and/or recommending them to our friends and family for their projects.

Vic and his team were able to complete our kitchen remodel even though we dealt with shutdowns amidst the start of the pandemic. They did a full kitchen overhaul and we are delighted with the results.

Vic always does a great job! This is our second project with Vic and his team. They did a beautiful job remodeling our master bathroom and we thought of them immediately when we needed to repair and replace the flooring in our downstairs powder room. Vic stays on schedule, communicates the plan clearly and does not exceed his budget estimates. We would definitely continue to recommend Johnson and Sons Construction to others.

First, it's worth saying that Vic Johnson was the only person to even respond to our inquiries for our bathroom remodel. Then, lucky for us, he was a pleasure to work with. He met with us for months before we started. We had no idea what we were doing and he talked us through it and was very patient. After about six months of talking from time to time, we were ready to commit. Once his team started working, they communicated well, texting us to let us know when they'd be here. Unfortunately, COVID-19 hit, but they were able to make our bathroom functional before they stopped work. Then, they came back to finish up when the state relaxed its restrictions. The quality of workmanship and the attitude of all of Vic's team was great. They asked all the right questions and didn't make any incorrect assumptions. We had some bumps with the cabinets we ordered, partially our fault, partially theirs, but Vic and his team took care of everything.

Johnson and Sons Construction gave me the kitchen of my dreams. They were clear, communicative, quick, always had recommendations and suggestions. They gave me a clear understanding of where we were in the process, next steps, and the road to the finish line. I am absolutely planning on using them again and have already recommended them to family and colleagues. They were professional and their work was top quality. I cannot overstate what a pleasure they were to work with.

We have a one bathroom home, built in 1962, and the bathroom was badly in need of repair. We had never had a fan in the room - and had no outlets, other than one on the light fixture. Because of the age of the house, we also had the electrical service panel upgraded while we were at it. The project took a full 4 weeks, but they made every effort to accommodate us during the process. I cannot express enough, how great every person who worked in our home was to deal with, from the subcontractors (plumbing and electrical) to the main guys who were here almost daily, doing the bulk of the work. The two employees, Tony and Russ, were always on time, cheerful and worked efficiently and were wonderful to deal with. Tony did all of the tile work, and he is really a perfectionist, an "artist", if you will. Both of them were experienced and knowledgeable with all facets of the demolition, and remodel that took place. The bathroom is now the most beautiful room in the house! Vic and John (the owners) were both professional and very responsive and great to work with as well. We would not hesitate to recommend them for any kind of remodeling job! The pictures were taken before the glass shower doors were installed, but we absolutely love it!

Highly recommend this company. Excellent design advice, determined to make sure that the customer is satisfied with even the smallest detail. Where other contractors don't show up, don't return calls, don't finish the job, you don't have any of these issues with this company.

Our home still had the original 1962 kitchen and we wanted to completely renovate it. We worked with Vic from Johnson and Sons, and expanded the the kitchen from 80 sqft to over 200, moved all the appliances ~15-20 feet, ran new electric/water/gas, rebuilt the floor, knocked down a wall, rewired a lot of the old wiring, and got all new cabinets + countertops. This was our first major remodel and since we weren't doing this to flip the house, we wanted to really do it right. Vic was helpful, courteous, and energetic and really helped us figure out the right approach. I was impressed at how reliable they were, with them only showing up late once or twice over the 2.5 months they were working on the house. Vic and his guys were also good communicators and we never felt we were in the dark. Like all older houses, ours had its fair share of craziness that we only found out once we opened up the walls and ceiling. Vic and the rest of the people at Johnson and Sons were always helpful and solution-oriented, which helped keep things moving along. They're pre-work price estimate + timeframe were pretty spot on too. The final price was about 3% higher, which is not bad at all! The timeframe was pretty accurate too, and hard to blame them for the week and a half delay caused by Seattle's Snow-pocalypse of 2019. We look forward to working with Vic and Johnson and Sons again in the future. They will definitely be our go-to-guys when we need work done!

Johnson and Sons Construction did a wonderful job remodeling our kitchen. The kitchen not only looks great, but is so much more functional. Thanks to their diligence we were able to overcome some holiday delays, and complete the job within 3 mos. If I had any questions, or concerns, they were just a phone call away.

Had a leak in an upstairs bathroom which came down through kitchen ceiling. Vic and his crew repaired the leak and performed the following: New bathroom flooring, shower/tub insert, molding, install ceiling fan (required cutting hole in roof for fan vent as the house was built without fans in the bathrooms), two new windows, repair holes in kitchen ceiling cut by emergency plumber to diagnose leak, paint both bathroom and kitchen. Their work was excellent! Vic and all of his contractors were on time, respectful of the house, worked around our somewhat chaotic schedule, and did outstanding work! I don't know if what we paid is considered high or low for this type of work. I can state with 100% confidence that it was worth every penny! We are so pleased with the final outcome and will use them again should the need arise. I recommend Johnson and Sons Construction without reservation!

Vic and his team were a pleasure to work with. The price for the amount of work we had done was very competitive with anyone else we got a quote from. His communication with us from the planning stage to completion was excellent! He went out of his way to squeeze our project in during his busy season so it would be completed before the arrival of our newborn baby. Even 9 months pregnant, I always felt stress free working with them and like we were in good hands. We got our beautiful 3/4 guest bath put in downstairs just in time for family to come stay and help with our new baby. We would definitely work with this company again! We remodeled our main bathroom with Johnson and Sons. We had an exceptional experience with Vic and his crew. Vic gave us ideas and suggestions on where to look for tile, flooring,vanities and counter tops, which helped us emensly. His crew was always on time, friendly and did an absolutely wonderful job. Vic would keep us updated every night and what was going to happen the following day and answer any questions or concerns we might have. Our bathroom looks amazing. Johnson and Sons did some basic remodeling and replaced a tub with a walk-in shower, plus floor replacement with tile. This was the second partial bathroom we had them do. Their best quality is their constant communication, you always know what's going on and when, and they are extremely responsive. Anything that we weren't happy about, they wanted the opportunity to fix and did. We had some hold ups with waiting for parts, but that was more about the lag time in being in the queue for busy contractors (and those parts being discontinued in the meantime), not negligence. They stuck to their estimate, no creeping up of costs other than things we discovered when the walls came down which were discussed with us first. I think the best recommendation is that we went back to them after the first job, and we'll ask them to bid again when it comes time for the kitchen!

Johnson & Son’s Construction completed our Kitchen remodel project within their estimated time-frame. This project included a completely gutted kitchen and also installing new tile flooring through-out the majority of our upper level. Brand new cabinets, quartz counters, glass subway tile back-splash, new appliances, added an island that was not there before & the tile floors replaced existing carpet. We added a vent in the kitchen to vent out of our ceiling above the stove, replaced our sink and re-used our faucet. No major plumbing was involved outside of a new garbage disposal with some adjustments under the sink. There was some electrical work done, adding some outlets, moving a wall switch, changing out some outlets to meet code and dedicating circuits down to the main panel. We opted to do any painting ourselves. We couldn’t be happier with the final product and we keep finding ourselves doing double takes, staring at our kitchen and floors, telling each other how lucky we are to enjoy such an awesome space. They worked very hard to accommodate any changes and adjustments that came up along the way and all of the workers involved in the project were very friendly and eager to make sure we were happy with the end result of each individual stage of the renovation. We highly recommend them and would use them again in a heartbeat!

Vic and his crew were friendly, professional and competent, and held the schedule. Vic went the extra mile to get the subcontractors lined up, and located an available sink when the ones specified were not available or had a 6-week lead time. They did a lovely job overall and especially with the trim. An error with the countertop overhang was corrected immediately. I'll definitely approach them for future jobs.
