The JDB Team is exceptional. They worked with us to add another story to our home, which also involved redesigning a good portion of the main floor of our house. Their focus on details, from concept to completion of the project, was incredible. The direct and constant communication we received throughout the project made it so there were no surprises. Some of our favorite design details include a voice controller shower, gorgeous hickory floors, a massive 3-panel pocket door, perfect patterns for the tiles, the wide base layout of our new staircase, and a fabulous walk-in pantry. We have worked with JDB on two major home projects. There are very few areas of our house that they have not touched and improved! Lisa is a pleasure to work with during the design phase. She listens and makes sure all the decisions are made before construction begins. Josh and Dan were great to work with during construction of our kitchen and basement remodel in 2016. Chris was a steady hand during our recent bathroom remodel and window replacement all with the added challenges of Covid. The whole team is meticulous about quality craftsmanship and getting everything right. We are very happy repeat clients!

Although it cost more than we initially planned, our remodel with JDB turned out perfect. We worked through the design process with Lisa - she made it fun, easy, and super stress-free. Our construction manager was Trevor, and he had a keen eye for detail. He ensured contractors delivered a quality product, and held himself to the highest standards, even if it meant long nights for him. Our project ended on time, and communication was always clear and timely. We are thrilled about our new space, and really enjoyed working with JDB!

JDB was professional, courteous, flexible, and accountable throughout the entire design & build process for our basement remodel. We were hands-on clients - we provided a conceptual design to start with, we had particular preferences, and we wanted to self-perform chunks of the work. JDB worked with us every step of the way, providing alternatives, identifying potential pitfalls, and hand-holding when we needed it. The build team was great. They completed the project on time and on budget, with no unexpected change orders and no major problems. The team took accountability for the few small issues that did arise. They were supportive and flexible with the elements of the work that we did ourselves, giving us plenty of advance notice of their look-ahead schedule and identifying where our work would fit in to keep everything moving. Finally, it was clear that JDB took COVID seriously, and we felt safe throughout construction, which was critical because we were at home for most of the work. We highly recommend them.

We had wallboard dropping out of the bedroom ceiling and a leak in the kitchen as well. JDB discovered rot in the roof deck railings and all down the west wall of the house plus some problems with the south wall. They suggested and used more leak-proof ways of dealing with construction details than we originally had while keeping the same look. Now we should be set for a long stretch of low maintenance. They did an amazing job despite dealing with Covid and the lead on our job going off to start their own business. I highly recommend them: everyone else thinks they are good too so there's a waiting list. When they get to you, you'll get the same conscientious oversight of your job that they gave us.

Jackson is the best! When we bought our house in Seattle 2 years ago, we knew we’d need to do some remodeling. Thankfully, we found Jackson and they helped bring our dream kitchen to life, all while we lived in the construction zone, pregnant and with a very curious 2 year old ( thanks to Dan for always taking time to chat with Summer each day!) They made a normally dreaded process easy and even enjoyable. We could tell that Dan, Lisa, Josh, and everyone at Jackson actually cared about our home and our family. We recently engaged Jackson Design Build to help us reenvision and remodel our basement. We are extremely happy with the experience and would highly recommend them to homeowners looking for an "all-in-one" firm who can handle the design, overall project management and construction. It was very helpful to be guided through their process. Throughout the entire project they were very responsive, transparent about costs and timing, easy to work with, and were happy to come up with new solutions as we changed our minds throughout the project. Their carpenters and tradespeople were all friendly, organized, and neat.

We have used JDB for multiple projects - a major remodel, moderate fixes to a house being put up for sale, and new windows/window seats/cabinets for our living room. Obviously, we love them because we keep coming back! They are consistently professional and helpful. When we identify issues (which is inevitable) they address them promptly and appropriately. Their work is top notch. I've recommended them to several friends and have never been disappointed.

We hired Jackson Design Build to remodel our brick house in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. This was a fairly extensive kitchen and bathroom remodel; but also we updated almost all of the infrastructure of the home; including replacing all the knob and tube wiring and meter, installing a tankless water heater, replacing all the plumbing for the kitchen and bath, and an earthquake retrofit to tie the home to the foundation. We could have not been more impressed with Jackson. They took their time to design and spec every last element of the project before starting construction. Their timelines were flawless and not only did they complete the project on time, even with us continually adding to the scope of the project, they even finished their completion list before our date to move back in. I was also amazed at how well Jackson managed their tradesmen. Always courteous, amazingly clean (they installed dust barriers in regions of the home not being worked on), and true craftsmen. When the tile work on the downstairs bathroom was not to their standards, they had no problem pulling out the old tile and starting over to make it right. We did not even ask this of them, they deemed it not of high enough quality to meet their standards. A rare find these days where contractors only want to make a quick buck and move on to the next project. We were so impressed with Jackson we have continue to use them for further projects including significant outdoor restructure of the side walkway and concrete stairs and drainage. And most recently we are working with them to refresh the front of the house. I could not recommend them highly enough.

Jackson Design Build helped us bring our 1951 home into the 2000's without changing the character. Their knowledge of the area they serve helped us move through the design and permitting process smoothly. The attention the JDB team paid to finishing and continuity with the remainder of our home was exceptional and very much appreciated. We appreciated the open communication and willingness to listed to our concerns. JDB bring the right team together to deliver high quality completion. We will use JDB again!

I met Erik Jackson at a friend's "celebrate our remodel" party, and was impressed with the quality of his company's work, his warmth and upfront ness, and the relationship he maintained with the homeowners ((Kimberly and Dave) even after their remodel was done. I eventually used Jackson Remodeling on a project in my basement to open up the basement for an ADU. This involved removing a number of posts and installing steel I beams in their place for support. My long term remodel of my (occasionally cursed) home is on what may be kindly referred to as a limited budget: Jackson Remodeling (JR) worked with me to get the price as pared down as common sense would allow, like allowing me to cut through the existing concrete floor and dig out a home for the post footing, that kind of thing. I was out of town for the big work, but the on site supervisor was great about updating me on the status of the work and sending me pictures along the way. They also checked back with me within the year to make sure that there were no unfinished bits, and sent someone out to fix something small that I had noticed after the job had been completed. (Please note that it was not a crucial bit, and I've just been remodeling long enough to notice even. picayune bits and pieces.) To sum up - I was really pleased both with their work and their follow up, and recommend them to friends and neighbors.

We had a pony wall built and electrical work done for a new chandelier and pot lights. The crew at Jackson Remodeling are talented carpenters, as well as detail oriented, mindful regarding daily construction clean-up, and genuinely nice people to work with. We were very pleased with our project.

I have used Jackson Remodeling to successfully "Do" several items on "To Do" List for my home. They are very good at remodeling and worked with me to provide multiple options for each project. They are also friendly, good people to work with. Since my "To Do" List is ever growing, I look forward to working with them for a long time.

I hired Jackson Remodel to install a furnace in my 100+year old home so all the duck work needed to be done as well. Because there was not enough room in the crawl space to install the furnace properly, they suggested building a separate little shed to house it. They made it look exactly like my house and attached it in a way that blended in perfectly! They did a very professional job and provided good advice when we needed it. They also installed a tank-less hot water heater on the outside our of house and put new sheet rock in our back door mud room area. Great job and we have had no issues at all!

Jackson Remodeling is a family business with the highest integrity and attention to detail. The company is honest, fair and patient. The office team is fabulous, always helpful and willing to go the extra mile to explain invoices or provide receipts. Josh Zauke is the best carpenter imaginable. ¡”Jackson Remodeling did a beautiful job of earthquake retrofitting my 1040s house and remodeling the original kitchen about three years ago. They were easy to work with, good listeners and were understanding during my moments of panic. I especially appreciate the design work, space planning, discussions about materials and lighting and exploring various options. They were very knowledgeable and professional and also very tidy. I came home from work everyday and never saw a mess and never had a complaint from my neighbors. They did a good job selecting the sub-contractors and any problems were quickly resolved. I would use them again and highly recommend them.

The Jackson brothers - Erik & Leif orchestrated our remodel in the fall of 2008 after our basement was trashed in a flood the year before. Their meticulous attention to detail and their excellent communication made them an absolute pleasure to work with. The internal vinyl water dam they installed in the walls and floor has already saved our butts once following extremely heavy rains a year later. Without the water dam, we would have been flooded all over again. I use the basement as professional office space and have received multiple compliments from clients on how beautiful the bathroom is (that they installed). The Jacksons' and their staff err on the side of over-communicating. How is that possible? During the remodel, they had a communication white board left at the foot of the stairs every evening. Written on it were details of when they would be there the following day and what they would be working on. Have you ever heard of anyone doing that? Since the remodel, we have gone through them as a general contractor to have our roof replaced (2012) and in the last few weeks (2014) to have our house painted. We pay them and they sub out the work to vetted and trusted contractors with proven track record. Both times we have been very impressed with the work. We hired Jackson for a kitchen & bath remodel of our 1903 house. We hired them in part because of their specialty in identifying “green” building solutions, which was important to us. We found them extremely pleasant to work with, they came up with some really great design ideas, especially for out bathroom, and did excellent work. They were also very accommodating to our participating in the remodel, doing the demolition and tiling ourselves, and handled a couple of small “bumps” along the way with sub-contractors very well. The employee who did most of the remodel, Josh, was great: super enjoyable to work with, accommodating to our requests, and paid excellent attention to detail in all parts of the job. In particular, he did an amazing job of installing very tall kitchen cabinets along walls that are not only un-square, but actually bowed. While I’ve heard endless nightmares from friends about contractors going way off-budget, Jackson did a solid job in their budget estimates so there were no big surprises. The only reason I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is that there were times when I wished questions were answered more directly. There were times when I felt like they were trying so hard to be kind and accommodating that it took work to get a clear answer. Other than that, they are honest, knowledgeable, do really nice work, and are completely pleasant to work with and I’d definitely recommend them.

We've used Jackson Remodeling 5 times over the past 15 years. First was to do seismic retrofitting of our old house - bolting the house to the foundation. A couple years later they refinished our bathroom and kitchen (walls, windows, cabinets). After that they rebuilt a fence and tool shed. Our big project was over the winter of 2010 - 11 at our new house. They managed the remodeling needed (new roof, insulation, gutters, some paint and electrical work, new hood over the stove, custom-built bathroom cabinet door, and more). Last year they devised a way to divert rainwater from under our deck away from a basement door in a very confined space. Totally a one-off custom job that has worked to perfection. Eric has been our lead contact person through all of these projects. Besides being a very fun person to work with, he is an absolute professional. Crew members (like Josh) are exceptionally talented. They communicate well throughout the project; their budgets are accurate; they are timely; they clean up; they are a real pleasure work with.
