Carton Interiors is a Dublin-based interior design and interior architecture service. From our studio in Rathfarnham, we prepare and project manage complete interior design schemes, working with you to define your style and create a home with feeling. Our small team has a big passion for interiors! Lead designer Jackie Carton is an interior design architect specialising in residential interior design. She has many years experience in delivering full design schemes - from modern and colourful to classically elegant. With a background in art publishing and graphics, her love of art and colour is evident throughout her work and she believes that a well designed home should reflect its owners personality. “As designers we have a responsibility to the client to ensure the layout meets their functional needs. Then, layers of colour and texture add warmth and character whilst some well considered final touches complete the scheme. Attention to detail is one of my hallmarks - it's the smaller, more subtle elements that really help create a harmonious feel. A beautifully designed space is a joy to live in and this is the ultimate goal of every project I undertake.” Jackie is known for her open and friendly yet professional approach. She collaborates with a number of developers, architects and building contractors to see each design through to completion. A regular contributor to interior magazines and newspaper articles, Jackie has also been invited to speak at shows such as House Event, the Ideal Home Show and the Self Build shows. She works with developers on showhouse fit outs and in 2017 took part in TV3’s Showhouse Showdown programme, winning across all four categories. Her work is featured on Houzz where she was awarded “Best of Houzz for both Design and Service” 2017-2024. She is President of the Interiors Association in Ireland.

We recently built a house and hired Carton Interiors as our designers for the project. We can sincerely say (and repeatedly have said throughout the project and beyond) that working with Jackie and Dawn in Carton was the best money we spent on the entire project! They made the whole journey seamless from initial inception to planning stage and on to implementation. They completely got the brief 100% and guided us through with their knowledge and expertise in order to achieve what was most important to us. It was a huge relief putting our trust in their expert hands which produced an output which was absolutely amazing. Better than what we could have ever imagined. Jackie and Dawn had a no-nonsense approach, they listened but also stirred us in the right direction when we were going off track. They always delivered with the utmost professionalism. We trusted them completely and the collaboration between us was not only professional but also had a very personal touch. We felt that they cared just as much as we did about executing the design to a tee. We would not hesitate in recommending Carton Interiors. It is because of them that our house has been elevated to a standard that we did not believe was possible and of which we are very proud. Visitors constantly remark on how beautiful our home is and how it seems much more spacious than it actually is. This is not by chance! Carton Interiors are very talented at what they do. We employed Carton Interiors for room designs for our sitting room, dining room, tv room and the hall in Autumn of 2021 and are so delighted with our refurbished downstairs! Jackie and Dawn were fantastic!... producing a choice of two mood boards for each area from which we choose one. I choose to project manage it myself from there (but they will project mange it if you wish) so they then provided me with a spreadsheet of all items suggested in the mood board...where to purchase, the cost of each item etc. and contact details for the tradesmen they use which is so beneficial. They were still always available by email for any questions/queries I had or to give assistance with decisions on things. I would highly recommend Carton Interiors, it is so worth it to get this professional design service. I had spent so much over the years buying bits and pieces and never pulling it all together properly!

Jackie is AMAZING! From the initial planning stage to the final interior stage Jackie was 100% invested in making sure the project was what we had discussed. I'll admit to not having a creative brain which meant Jackie had to became the project manager. Jackie answered calls and questions from builders, tilers, carpenters etc and always made herself available to answer questions that I didn't have the answer to. I cannot recommend Jackie Carton Interiors highly enough!

Jackie is one of the most talented persons on planet earth!!! She is simply amazing. She brought my dream home to reality. From a blank canvas to a breathtaking master piece. I couldn’t hold back my tears on the day of the great reveal. I had to keep tapping myself to make sure I was not dreaming. Her concept, choice of colors, patterns, ideas, skills are simply out of this world. She is very professional, from the first day I met her I knew I was in safe hands. The project was to start in March, but then the lockdown came to effect due to the pandemic. Jackie still kept in touch and gave me updates every step of the way. Even though logistics and purchases were hard to come by, she went out of her way to a make sure my house was set barely a month after the lockdown was starting to ease. Everyone who’s been to my home is amazed of how beautiful the house is…thanks so much Jackie, for making my dream come true!!!!!

I can't recommend Jackie highly enough!! She was a pleasure to deal with at every step of the design journey, guiding and inspiring the whole way. We have a house that has become our home, with a style that reflects our interests and personalities. Our kitchen/diner, which is where we spend most of our time, has a real 'wow factor' and includes a navy fitted cabinet, designed by Jackie, navy painted walls, and a gallery wall for our treasured artwork. The kitchen/diner flows really well, style-wise, into the living room so that when the adjoining doors are open we have one big gorgeous room, yet each room still has its own character. My son's bedroom has a giant map on the wall and a handmade headboard. Our bedroom has quirky geometric wallpaper and a huuuuge velvet bed that is so comfy, it is like sleeping on a cloud. Even the hallway and the downstairs loo now looks beautiful. I have to stop there - this is sounding a little self-congratulatory! I just want to tell you if you are looking for a great designer to help you transform your house, especially if you are a little nervous and unsure like I was, look no further than Jackie Carton. As well as being a fabulous designer, she is also a lovely person to deal with. We love the outcome!

My partner and I purchased a new build recently. As we were starting out with a blank canvas we soon became overwhelmed with the amount of choice and styles available to us online and in stores. We got in touch with Jackie for advice on the design aspect. Jackie was very professional to deal with from the beginning. She took the time to get to know us and understand what we were looking for. Jackie took into consideration both our styles and helped us create a great stylish family space that we are so thrilled with. She was able to understand what we were looking for even when we didn’t know ourselves! She could visualise the whole house coming together. We have achieved a stylish, complete look that flows throughout the house that we would never have been able to complete on our own. We availed of tradesmen who came recommended by Jackie all of whom were very efficient and professional to deal with. Jackie was very patient and always quick to respond to any queries we had. I would absolutely recommend Jackie to anyone looking for an interior designer.

Jackie is fantastic! We are a young couple that had purchased a new two bed apartment and wanted to give the apartment our own personal feel. We were apprehensive about working with a designer, but once we met Jackie and went through our ideas, she made us feel at ease and explained the process from start to finish very well. She done a brilliant job at combining both of our ideas into a cohesive plan and giving it that extra spark that makes everyone say ‘wow’ when they see the place. We couldn’t be happier & couldn’t recommend Jackie enough. She really makes the whole process easier too as Jackie has some great contacts with high quality painters, electricians, etc. so it saves having to go and find suitable vendors for different tasks yourself.

I was apprehensive about working with an interior designer - different personalities, being talked into something I was not sure of but within 5 minutes of meeting Jackie I knew that was not going to be a problem. Jackie is lovely, really easy to talk to and she put them time in to making sure she understood how we used our space. She provided visuals on anything proposed so we knew what it was going to look like and she had a couple of options if there was something that we didn't immediately warmed to (for us it was a set of lamps and a painting and Jackie ended up being right about the lamps). She kept to deadlines as did all of her trades people who were all very good. I could not have been happier with the results, it is like a completely different house, even the small changes Jackie made to things already in the house made such a difference. If we stay where we are and look for a change down the road or if we ever move she will be the first person I will call.

We have used Jackie twice so far, in our previous house to decorate and to change from a house in to a home with a lot of unusual features and hidden storage. We were delighted with the results. When we moved in February this year we approached Jackie again and gave her a blank canvas for all features from carpets curtains wall colours paintings lighting. Although she was extremely busy she was great to work with and fitted us in to her schedule. The results are fantastic and I love that she does the research and give three options on what to choose. She is very sensible with budgets and looking at alternatives to keep costs at requested levels. A brilliant service and the guys who work with Jackie are super and very trustworthy. We would definitely use Jackie again and would recommend her to anyone who is looking to lift the décor in their house and add a wow factor.

Jackie was absolutely amazing before and during our project! My husband and I bought a new home and had no idea where to start with the design and decor. Jackie met us and within hours helped us narrow down our style, gave us ideas for each room, and provided excellent examples and sources for the art, furniture, and decor. Her eye for detail is fantastic. Jackie listened to the vision I had for our home and tastefully translated it into thoughtful designs. She dedicated so much of her time to the project to ensure our dream became a reality. We highly recommend Jackie she’s such an amazing talent. The service was so personal and the results were everything we wanted and more!! Our home is individual to us and above all cosy! Jackie performed an excellent job and is so easy to work with. We are so happy with our home.
