It was my dream to have a live/natural edge table. Since I support local businesses (Edmonton, AB) , Innovative Woodworking was an obvious choice. Turned out that Ted is not a carpenter, he is an artist. His work is amazing and it shows love put into the project. Every detail is flawless and beautiful. Ted listened to my comments and choices beforehand, and the result exceeded my expectations. Not only the table was done on time, as promised, but also lovingly delivered to my home. If you value quality and artistry of your furniture, Innovative Woodworking is the place to go to!

We hired Ted Clark of Innovative Woodworking to design and install custom kitchen cabinets and an island in our new home. After we began consulting with Ted, we were so impressed that our order expanded to include bathroom vanities and laundry room cabinets and shelving and a mantle for the wood stove. After having a rustic railing installed by the home contractors, we were terribly disappointed in the quality of the wood and workmanship. Ted then also replaced the railing for us and we couldn't be more happy. We chose Nova Scotia Beech wood with a dark oil finish. The entire process with Ted was excellent. It began with 3-D drawings of the designs and followed with test samples. His manner of communication and questioning allowed him to know exactly what we wanted without us even knowing. We were consulted with every step of the process to ensure we were happy with the progress. We were offered a variety of woods, stains and sanding finishes to get the exact look we wanted. IWOC was precise in their timelines and budget. The quality of craftsmanship we received for the price was also amazing. In a "throw away" world where nothing lasts forever, I am confident these cabinets will be something that can be passed down the generations, not only for their beauty but their durability. Ted is a true craftsman which is very rare these days to find. His passion and drive for his work is evident and much appreciated. There were no details overlooked and his foresight into how everything was to be used and how our family functions was important to him in his decision making and design. During any new home build there are always miscommunications and things you get stuck with but we knew with Ted things were always just as they should be. Never once did we worry about how the IWCO project would turn out. Being able to speak directly with the person designing and building at anytime was very important to us. Overall, we have cabinets and other wood projects that were well beyond our expectations in appearance, quality, price and timeliness. We have not only discovered an amazing craftsman that will have already recommended, but have also found an incredible person that we trust fully and are happy to call a friend.

We had Ted at Innovative Woodworking team up with a great friend of ours, Daryl, over at High-Four Customs to create a one-of-a-kind boardroom table. We wanted something that would match our company's strong, bold vision and uniqueness. Ted's woodworking proved to be nothing short of beautiful and the table turned out so much better than we could have ever dreamed of. I would highly recommend Ted and his crew for all of your wood projects. Ted and his staff were professional, hardworking and delivered on time. Couldn't be happier with this project. Would use them again and again.

My wife and I retained Innovative Woodworking to build a custom table and stools for our new kitchen nook, which was the final piece of an almost 300k home renovation project. We have just received the finished product and all of the pieces are absolutely fantastic, and far beyond expectations. The quality and craftsmanship is simply unmatched by anything I have previously experienced. Ted came up with a great design for us as well as material selections. If you are looking for a custom work of the highest quality and attention to materials and detail, look no further. The pieces Ted made for us are my favourite part of our entire project.

As we are an Alberta based company and with our new offices we wanted to incorporate/showcase products from Alberta based companies/artists. We found Ted from Innovative Woodworking Co. and discussed building a library table for one of our meeting rooms. He understood our needs, budget, and quality requirements with one phone call. With the finished product Ted wasn't happy with how the top looked and wanted to redo it even before we had seen it. He called to inquire whether we wanted to still go with the leather top or perhaps use glass. As we still wanted the leather look, he redid it. Ted kept us informed of the change in delivery date, installed it, waxed the top and made sure we didn't use it for a day. He then pointed out the power outlet and USB port that were installed which we didn't know about - a nice touch. Our staff love the library room. Ted was very easy to deal with, professional and knowledgeable which made the end result worthwhile.

We met Ted Clark (IWCO) in the spring to discuss a new dining room table. After the first meeting we knew we wanted to work with a craftsman like Ted. The process of selecting wood and design took several months for us to discover what we wanted. The project ended up to be a collaboration between IWCO (top) and Simply Steel(base). We selected a walnut top with interesting grain, knots, sap wood lines and a beautiful natural finish. The sleek twin pedestal base is brushed steel with an epoxy coat. We are thrilled with our new table, it is truly a work of art.

After my wife and I moved into our newly built home we decided to buy a new bed. The problem was that we could not find anything we liked. We wanted something that was more than just a bed, something with a built in feature look. As a result we decided to have one custom built. We contacted Ted and he was able to take our ideas and together with his insight turn them into a pretty neat concept for the bed. The end product turned out exactly as we had hoped it would. We now have a bed that will last us a lifetime and is more than just a piece of furniture. Ted’s knowledge and craftsmanship are second to none. We highly recommended Innovative Woodworking to anyone who is looking for custom woodwork.

High attention to detail, excellent workmanship and a key eye for design. Conscientious on delivery dates and commitments. Not inexpensive but worth it!

We're really pleased with Innovative Woodworking Co's work. The finished product looks great, and is just what we were expecting. But what was even better is that it was easy working with IWCO on developing a design, and they did an excellent job communicating progress all along the way. Of all the people we've worked with on our heritage house project, they've been the best at keeping in touch and volunteering updates. Not everyone does that! We're looking forward to continuing to work with IWCO on our bathroom and kitchen renovations, which will need all-new cabinetry, and a design that is both period appropriate and highly functional.

After big renos to an old home my husband & I knew we needed those finishing touches that only a master carpenter could provide. To our rescue came Ted of Innovative Woodworking Co. His business is aptly named. He had the huge job of having new blend with old. He not only provided & finished baseboards he had helped us choose but in the end designed and custom made corner pieces to finish it all off! Fast, precise, & like the name says, innovative are the words I would choose to describe Ted. We had a custom headboard for our master bedroom that we wanted built for our newly constructed home. We discovered Innovative Woodworking Co. through the internet and made contact. Once initial contact was made we discussed ideas and submitted concept drawings. IWCO was able to take the concept drawings and issue final drawings to us for approval and construction. Prior to construction startup, IWCO did a site visit to better understand the scope of the project (approximately 3 hours - 1 way). We wanted our headboard built out of fir and IWCO was able to fulfill that request. The construction timeline was achieved as well as the initial estimate that was provided to us. We are considering having other custom pieces of furniture built and have been in contact with IWCO for concept and design ideas. We will definitely contract IWCO for future projects.
