Fable & Base

Fable & Base is a design led textile studio based in Whitstable, Kent. Our beautiful fabrics offer you striking designs printed onto luxurious natural materials. We work with you to connect to the natural world and bring the outside inside. We take a slower approach to how we produce our textiles, which will allow us to embrace local heritage and landscape to create a cloth that tells a story but also celebrates local traditions raising awareness of provenance and sustainability. We only working with natural materials including linen, hemp and organic cotton base cloths. Our dyes low toxic eco friendly dyes . We can help you develop a project for your home whether it’s giving new life to old furniture or prints for new homewares. Our fabrics are hand screen printed on our 6 metre print table in our Whitstable, studio giving a truly unique artisan piece of cloth. All of our fabrics can be made into a range of products Upholstery/ curtains/ blinds we can offer you a bespoke making service from initial consultations to realizing your final project. Bespoke design service is offered to connect with your own local surroundings and design a fabric that is personal to you. All of our designs can be colour matched to match your interiors giving a bespoke fabric that belongs to your home.
