I almost never write any reviews and this review is 2 years overdue. We hired Dan to landscape our back and front yards after a house remodel and had a 100% positive experience. If we need any landscaping job again he is the first one we will call. He was very responsive and continued to be responsive during the project and after. He made sure all of our questions and requests were addressed as quickly as possible. He was 100% on time to all our meetings. The crew he hired were amazingly fast, Dan supervises his crew with great attention to details making sure everything we needed was implemented, if there was a mistake, or for the two times that we changed our minds, he had no problem going back and changing things. All with a great attitude, apart from all this he is just a wonderful person. He has a good heart and I am so grateful that we got to know him. We had to contact him many times after our project was completed (due to a storm and a neighbor needing access to our yard for water. pipe) and he quickly fixed or gave his advise without question. When I wanted some plants in the front yard a year after project he purchased them and planted them without charging us planing fee. Highly recommend.

Dan and his crew did an amazing job turning our yard into a beautiful sanctuary. He’s a great listener and communicator. He has a wealth of ideas and suggestions, while hearing what is wanted on the project. Timely and with attention to detail too. A pleasure to work with!

We worked with Dan to completely remodel our backyard in 2020 and will continue to hire him for any future outdoor projects we have. Our landscape architect vetted a handful of contractors for our project and when we met with Dan, we could see that based on his attention to detail, his experience, and his ability to collaborate with our landscape architect, he was in a league of his own. We've come to appreciate his dedication to continue to work with us as our needs change and his craftsmanship. We hired Dan and were immediately at ease. He aligned on the overall project with our landscape architect and offered ideas as they talked through execution, helping perfect the way the space works so there’s no ‘gotcha’ when it’s all done. One example was suggesting a 6” wider gap between our two raised planter beds so they wouldn’t feel crowded and would be easier to tend to - a solution I’m thankful for every time I’m out gardening! He is very hands-on with the work and also coordinated various crews for the demolition, general construction, electrical work, masonry and stucco, and landscaping. Everything ran on time or ahead, all the materials were delivered and ready when needed (no small feat during the height of the pandemic!), and he was very present throughout the project to make sure all the designs came to life as intended. This project included demo, re-leveling the entire yard, putting in two large raised beds, DG, artificial turf, corten steel edging, lighting, plants, irrigation, flagstone, and more. Dan has this way of making the work not seem like work to him and it brought so much joy to the process. We added a lighting system to our yard and had some open questions about how to light the focal point of the backyard - a large oak tree. We had all the hardware but couldn’t decide how to light the tree, so he suggested a ‘lighting party’ with an electrician in a cherry picker after twilight along with our landscape architect so we could see the lighting at work! He made arrangements so everyone could be there at 7:30pm to view the lights and give input. And wow, it looks spectacular! And the process to get there was also fun. We’re really happy with how the yard turned out and highly recommend Dan to anyone. Great to work with, really respectful of everyone, and exceptional craft.

I am really impressed by Daniel’s conscientious work ethic. He was on site every day and fixed any problems that came up. He is one of those rare people that listens to you and considers your input. A very patient contractor that is a rare find these days. I was also amazed at how he was able to finish in the time frame he gave me. I loved his positive, can do attitude and enjoyed working with him. Our backyard looks wonderful now thanks to him and his amazing crew led by Antonio and we are beginning to enjoy it again! I cannot wait for the plants to fill in and become a true outdoor haven! Thank you Daniel and team!

HWH Home and Garden was incredible, I will use them for everything I do at any house I have going forward. I was referred to Dan by a friend and could not be happier with the job that he did. The paver reconstruction that he did in my backyard with the landscaping and irrigation system revamp was done perfectly. I had zero complaints and cannot stress enough that this was the best contractor experience I have ever had.

We had a MAJOR backyard remodel in Belmont from October 2020 - February 2021 and it turned out amazing!! It was basically gutting the backyard and upgrading everything. During the entire project Daniel listened to what our vision was and he and his crews made it happen with lots of patience and hard work. Daniel managed the coordination of the various crews (demolition, fencing, paving, landscaping, plumbers and electrician) and made sure things were moving along, materials were ordered, permits were secured and we were happy with the results. The project included replacing our fence, demolishing the patio and old landscaping, installing pavers for the patio and side yard walkways, building a concrete retaining wall with proper drainage, installing a fire pit, an outdoor gas grill and pizza oven, planting a variety of trees and plants and installing light fixtures for perfect accent lighting and ambiance. We love using our backyard now as a true extension of our home. It was a pleasure to work with Daniel and highly recommend HWH Home and Garden!

We were referred to Daniel @ HWH Home and Garden by our friends who also had their backyard remodeled by them. Daniel helped us design our backyard and guided us to think through the various options. He gave us a very reasonable price and his crew did an excellent job which included seating walls, pavers, synthetic turf, irrigation, and automatic night lights! He was super responsive, patient, and gracious. The quality and thoughtfulness of their work is outstanding. Prior to our remodeling the backyard, we did not use it often. Now, after the remodeling, we use it every day. We highly recommend HWH Home and Garden!!!

We recently remodeled our home and had to complete the process with a brand new yards, both back and front. Dan was amazing. He responded very quickly to my queries, showed up when promised and provided excellent feedback regarding what we wanted (cause you always need a professional to help you with plants and recommendations). Once he started, he and his crew moved quickly and with great skill. We are extremely pleased with his abilities, his professional and positive attitude and would recommend him to anyone looking for some landscaping assistance.

We recently completed a backyard remodel which included a pool. We hired Dan to do all our landscape needs which included pavers, palm trees, grass & irrigation, retaining walls, new fence and plants. I found Dan on this very website and am so thankful that I did! From the first time we met all the way through job completion (and even after), Dan has gone above and beyond. He's very responsive and always accessible if you have any questions or concerns and always makes things right. The yard turned out better than we could have imagined and we owe a lot of the credit to Dan for his great ideas and expertise. I cannot recommend him enough. Great work, even greater guy!

We had talked about doing our backyard for years and now I know why we waited so long. We were meant to work with Dan! I could tell right away that he really cares about his work and was open to all my ideas. I wanted something specific to go with the style of my home and Dan understood my vision. His knowledge of all things backyard is amazing and he had lots of solutions for making things happen the way I wanted. His crew were dedicated and hard working and we appreciate all their efforts. I also appreciate than Dan was on site most days and was quick to respond to my questions or concerns. We now spend most of our time in the backyard and couldn't be happier!

I've held off reviewing the project thinking that surely I will find something I don't love about the backyard that Dan did for us in the winter of 2017. I still can't find anything and it has been over 6 months. Dan was wonderful to work with. He did everything he could to make sure we were satisfied with the project. He even helped us with other contractors we had hired. I would not hesitate to use him again. He has great ideas, listens well, and responds immediately.

During the renovation of our master suite, we had to do some repair for termite related damages on one of the external walls adjacent to our deck. The deck turn out to have some termite damage as well. We also discovered was that it was built in such as way that it did not allow proper ventilation for the house's crawl space. Additionally, it was built on partially demolished aggregate concrete, which made the area unusable once the old deck was removed. At that point, we realized we'd have some unplanned spending on the backyard if we wanted to be able to use it at all. The approach we decided to take was to get a proper design for the entire backyard, then only implement part of the design to address the area right next to the house. This would allow us to not have to spend too much and still have some outdoor area we can use. Dan's company was one of few we contacted for a design. Dan actually offered to give us a free design for just the area next to the house. But we ultimately decided on a landscaping design company to do the overall design because we wanted to be able to visualize what the entire backyard would look like once everything is done. However, because we were really pleased with our initial interaction with Dan, with his helpfulness and enthusiasm, we decided to reach out to him again after we had the design to get his input on a reasonable first phase that meets our budget. There were quite a few other companies who also had good reviews on Houzz that we contacted. Once we mentioned that we only wanted to work on part of the design, a lot of them lost interest and some did not even bother to get back to us. Dan on the other hand, came out a few times, gave us at least a couple different suggestions for the first phase that would fit our budget and with a lot of details as far as the specific pavers and lighting we want to use before we even signed anything with him. So of course, we went with Dan and HWH. Once we signed the contract, the project was able to begin a little sooner than we had anticipated, which was great. The crew was here everyday and sometimes even staying past 5pm to make sure things stayed on schedule. Dan came several times during the project to check on things. The project was completed quickly and before our agreed upon completion date. It looks amazing and we did not go over the agreed cost at all, which was not the experience we had with other contractors in the past. We have entertained guests a few times since we completed the first phase of our backyard, and received a lot of compliments about how amazing our backyard looks. There were a couple of loose pavers, but as soon as we mentioned it to Dan, it was fixed the next day. Overall, we are extremely happy with the project we had with Dan and HWH, can't wait to have them finish the rest of our backyard once we save enough money for it! We wholeheartedly recommend Dan and the Team at HWH!
