Hulan Design is aimed at helping interior designers, architects, home owners, real estate developers and anyone else seeking expert guidance while creating residential or commercial projects that adhere to sustainable, environmentally conscious principles. Rachel Hulan has been involved in sustainable interior design projects ranging from the Sundance Film Festival and the Teen Choice Awards, to LEED Platinum homes. As an interior designer in Southern California for the last 19 years, Rachel worked on projects as diverse as television shows, science centers, private residences and master planned communities, developing a broad base of knowledge from which to consult interior designers, architects, home owners, real estate developers and anyone else seeking expert advice.

Hulan Design worked with us to renovate our kitchen and master bath. We started with pictures gathered hither and yon and more desires than budget. Long story told short, Rachel delivered ideas that friends have borrowed and designs that feel contemporary, yet fit our 30-year-old home. And it makes all the difference in the world to have those design plans as a reference during construction. Working with Rachel Hulan was our good fortune.

Rachel is a talented and creative designer. We've done several projects together and enjoy the interaction. She's easy to work with, attentive to our clients and isn't afraid to introduce new ideas. I have only compliments for Rachel's expertise. She is creative, listens to clients, offers ideas, and goes the extra mile. She has helped us twice, with bathroom remodels. Rachel met us at the wholesaler, to look at pieces of marble slab. We could not have handled the decisions without her. She coordinated the materials with our contractor. I highly recommend her!

In 2011/12, Rachel Hulan guided us with the design (mostly interior, but some exterior) selections of environmentally-friendly products when we built our LEED Platinum Certified Home. Products ranged from paints & stains, tile, lighting, flooring, cabinet design, and much more. She was very knowledgeable about a variety of resources; the pro's & con's of products, and how they would fit with our project. Rachel was a valuable & integral part of our Team (architect, builder, us). In 2013/14, we liked her skills and ease to work with so much, that we hired her again when we built a second LEED Platinum Certified "spec" home. The buyers of the second home are delighted with it. Both homes can be viewed on Rachel's website: www.hulandesign.com AND some on Houzz.com
