HJL CMS managed the "passive house inspired" construction for our new house project and we were extremely pleased with the results. The project manager, Jeff, was always on top of everything and worked well with all of our subcontractors. Also, the in house designer, Steve, was available to ensure everything was built to plan and managed the engineering calculations, timber frame design, and 3D modeling for virtual tours of the house. Of course the company founder and leader, Hugh, was always there to ensure things were going well with the project. The house is extremely energy efficient, with wonderful light and wide open spaces. The geothermal radiant heat in our concrete floors is very comfortable, and is a great improvement over all other heating systems we have experienced in previous homes. Over the last four decades, Hugh Lofting Timber Framing has developed a great reputation over the years for their timber framing construction, which we incorporated into our front entry, screened porch, and open terrace. Their Construction Management Services division complements their timber framing business, to which they have devoted the same principles of high quality with the ultimate in energy efficiency in their custom house projects.
