David is very easy to work with. He created three artistic finishes in my kitchen and family space. David was able to show me samples during the process. The final effect ties both areas together. Highly recommended.

Dave designed a living room for me based only on my vague desire to have a room that felt like candlelight. He completely understood what I meant by that and how I wanted to feel in that room. Sadly, I no longer live in that house but I always tell everyone about that room and how it made me feel joyous, safe, and loved. It truly was the color of joy. And, that is the thing about Dave. He gets you. He feels into what you are really looking for and creates it. He's brilliant and I can't recommend him enough.

This project by far exceeded my expectations. I gave David a general idea of what I wanted painted in my art niches to replace a decor decal that would not stayed adhered to the wall and he took the idea and made it amazing. Everything about the job went well from brainstorming ideas to the actual work to clean up. Would love to use him again!

David painted a compass rose on the 14' high ceiling of our study. We asked for the painting to look aged and faded, similar to a painting of a compass we had found. David's painting was incredible!!!

I have known David for many years and never cease to be amazed by his incredible artistry. I hired him to work in my home and he transformed the space into an invitation to relax and enjoy life. When building a custom home you put so much thought into the cabinetry, natural stones and beautiful woods. However, I must say that David's artistry is what really pulled the final design together. Our project included, venetian plaster in bathrooms and on columns, texture painting to look like large stone blocks in a 2 story dining room, dome and several ceiling with painting and stenciling, oh and a fantastic vent hood. With any contractor there are issues that arise that in this case were out of David's control. He was professional and handled everyone else with respect to pull the project to completion while always keeping me informed on the timeline. I would highly recommend David to anyone. Sharon Cordes

I would like to say that David is a very professional and talented artist. I have a relatively large home and David did all of my faux finishes. He has an incredible eye for color, Every suggestion he made while doing my home reflected the flavor of my home. I also appreciate the way that he does what he says he's going to do. For instance, if he tells you he'll be there at a certain time you can count on it and he'll be there . I highly recommend David for his talent, truthfulness, and is very kind nature.

David is the genuine article. He is considerate and cares about the results based on your face lighting up with satisfaction. He made sure we were very comfortable with the plan of action and he carried it out flawlessly. Talent and persistence combined is a powerful thing and this man has both.

Dave Hemmeline is hands-down the most creative, meticulous artist we have ever had the good fortune to know. We get so many wonderful compliments on our home, and we attribute that mostly to the beautiful murals and hand-finished textures that Dave created for us. He has made our home a showplace, and I would highly recommend his work to anyone.

I can't say enough good things about David at Hemmeline Surface Designs! He painted our stainless stell welded vent hood for us to look like aged bronze. It is our favorite part of our entire kitchen - we absolutely love it! You can hardly believe it is paint that gives the hood its natural, rustic look. He went to such lengths to make sure that every detail was perfect, and that we were happy with the way it turned out. He really has a passion for his work and seems to love what he does. I look forward to the next time we ask him to do some work for us! In addition, David is a delight to deal with. I want to have him come do more projects with us, just so we can hang out with him again. :o) He would be a pleasure to have around the house, no matter how long the project takes. David painted a mural for us that was unbelievable. He is extremely talented. He provided a lot of good ideas and we were very happy with his work. He also painted a archway to look like stone. Everyone that see's it , thinks it is real stone. He is efficient and very pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend David to anyone.
