Organizing By Oz

We received our second By-law infraction Notice, telling us, we needed to clean up our rental property, a property we rent to our son. He is a Hoarder. He hoards what most people call junk. He calls them treasures. It cost us over $6000.00 the first time the city came in, and cleaned up everything. The By-law Officer, knowing we were having difficult discussions with our son about his hoarding issues, suggested we get a hold of some one from Organization by Oz, and see if that would work. She sounded like she could help us, so we hired her. She met with our son, listened to his needs and wants. He did not want any of his stuff going to the dump. She made him feel less anxious about losing his possessions. She helped him understand, it was OK to donate his used bikes and wood to a school, that could use that kind of stuff, in shops. His tires could go for recycling. He was receptive with her, and she made all the necessary calls, to make it happen. Later, she met with our son, helped him sort his stuff, and the even loaded a lot if it into her van, to transport. she helped him sort other stuff that we later took to the city dump, and tires, to recycle. Oz accomplished all that in just 2, 2-hour sessions with our son. We were pleased, with the results, of the clean-up, as was the By-law Officer. We would hire Oz again, if it became necessary. We would rate Oz, on all her duties, a BIG 10 out of 10. Thank you OZ. Terry

Earlier this year I found myself being charged and harassed by several employees of the management of the seniors residence that I live in. Not understanding why this was happening, and in need of non-biased advice, I was advised by a friend to contact COLLETTE OSWALD OF 'ORGANIZING BY OZ'. I found Ms Oswald to be understanding, straight forward in her methods of inspection of my home. Her openness to listening and answering my questions was reassuring and very helpful to me. I found it easy and comfortable to follow her suggestions and directions, and, in fact, am still finding small yet productive ways to improve my organization of my home, always aware of what Collette said to me. Being a senior of almost 80 years, I was particularly vulnerable to this continuous and basically unwarranted harassment, as my home was and is clean, merely full of my many hobbies and activities that keep me focused and busy. These, coupled with my habits of leaving unfinished projects lying around and not picking up and storing properly, gave my home a wildly cluttered appearance (looked fine to me) but to others, especially minimalists and those who believe that seniors should be content with a couch, lamp and TV, left others with a different view of myself and my home. During this time, I completely lost confidence in myself, began to question my interpretation of my life, and my health began to deteriorate, blood pressure up 30 -40 points and digestive problems. Collete Oswald helped me to regain my belief in my self, was always available by telephone, returned calls promptly, and for this I will be forever grateful to her. I continue to follow her ideas and instructions; my health is improving daily, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND COLLETE OSWALD AND HER COMPANY ' ORGANIZING BY OZ to any and all who have a need for her services and moral support. I’ve never had an organized system that worked for me before. I had, had a previous organizer come into my home and it didn’t stay organized as it didn’t make sense. Collette knew all the right questions to ask and she drew up a plan that worked specifically for my family and I. She was punctual, polite and really knew her stuff! She also did all the work and I just sat back and relaxed as she folded, organized, shredded, disposed of, and donated for me. She also took away all the donated items at no charge for me whereas my previous organizer charged me. My house is still organized to this day which I never thought it would be but it is! It’s a miracle as both my husband and I used to misplace and lose things all the time! Now everything has a place and a home! She came over numerous times for 4-6 hours at a time. I couldn’t wait for her to arrive!
