Gunderson Pool Plastering was hired by our pool builder to install the plaster in our pool. During the plaster installation, we did not see Glenn on site, and the job was lead by his son. After installation, and during the pool filling, I noticed white streaking on our back wall that remained after the pool was filled. After meticulously keeping the pool chemistry in the necessary state for proper curing by a professional, the streaking remained. Glenn immediately blamed improper water chemistry when I approached him about the streaking. After he and the pool builder discussed the situation, Glenn told us that the pool would need to be drained, acid-washed, refilled, and then maintained at proper chemistry. He also sent a printout of the recommended chemistry. The pool was drained, acid-washed, refilled, and the chemistry was again maintained according to the printout by the same professional. The streaks on the back wall went away, but we were left with worse streaking all over the shallow end. Glenn then recommended a third party to treat the pool without draining the water. A representative came out and met with me and my pool builder. He gave us detailed instructions, which were exactly followed for the recommended number of days. After this treatment, the plaster is overall darker, streaks are still present, and many more new streaks are present. Our pool builder explained that further acid washing will significantly affect the integrity and lifespan of the plaster. I’m now waiting for Glenn to get back to me on next steps. I’ll update this review as things change, but as of now, I would recommend looking elsewhere for your plaster needs. We’re going on 6 months with this plaster process…and we are worse off than when we started.
