Marlene has an amazing eye. She knows what is attractive to buyers and can quickly see what needs to be addressed in your home. She appreciates what you already have in your house that will work well, and she also knows what is beautiful but won't appeal to a wide range of prospective buyers. She will tell you directly what is what, and doesn't waste time with indecision since she quickly sees what's needed. What was most impressive to me was not the room she furnished from scratch but instead the many rooms she added beauty to using mostly what was was already there. Her touch with a few additional pillows to a couch, the movement of a desk to a different space in the room, or her decisions on how to make a bed - there were so many simple things that took our house to the next level. I was super impressed with Marlene's talents, and I am so appreciative of her help. She was the best value added to our house sale.

The moment Marlene entered our house and started making suggestions as to the work needing to be done to sell our house, I knew without a doubt we made the right choice for a stager! Her vision, once achieved, led to our accepting an offer 2 days after our house was listed! Marlene has a keen sense of how to neutralize a home so that a prospective buyer can see what THEY may want to do with the space instead of getting lost in taste specifics of the current owner. When I received Marlene Gold’s bill for staging my 1920 Larchmont House I wrote to her, “this is the biggest bargain I have ever received in 30 years! If you worked for a big corporation and I received this bill, I would think someone in the billing department had obviously made an error, as I fully expected your bill would be at least twice what I was charged.“ I know only 3 people who always respond to my emails within 2 minutes or less, and one of them is Marlene Gold. Over a period of 101 days (during which my kitchen and 3 bathrooms were redone; an exercise room was transformed into a legal 4th bedroom with certificate of occupancy; all walls repainted; carpeting removed from second floor and the floors refinished; 7 chandelier fixtures replaced; 85% of my furniture replaced with the rental staging furniture) there was not a day in which I sent fewer than 3-4 emails to marlene about decisions, problems, frustrations, and personnel management, and she responded to every single email within two minutes, 8 AM to 11 PM, 7 days a week! She exhibits a level of intelligence (Assessment and analysis) far beyond that which is seen in her industry, which makes working with her a low stress experience within an otherwise extremely stressful situation (Living in a house as it is turned upside down). Her service included recommending an able, reasonably priced local architect and recommending (and supervising!) a good, reasonably priced general contractor who completed the work within time. She even offered sage advice on removing driveway shrubbery and five trees from the property which opened up and transformed the appearance of the property in a very dramatic and extremely effective fashion. To prevent you from forming an inadequate sense of her level of hustle, I should mention in passing that my initial phone call to her (before I was a client) was on Christmas afternoon, as she was boarding a plane, and she stayed on the phone with me a solid 5 minutes giving me free advice until, due to the exigencies of the boarding situation, she was forced to put our conversation on hold until later. Innumerable times she came to the house within an hour of my email in order to make decisions that were approved because of her being on location. The bottom line is that her service provides TREMENDOUS (!) value, and I think it would be a rare property which would not benefit from the Gold Touch! p.s. She even became a favorite of my two dogs:-)!

Marlene gave us great ideas for a major renovation we did a couple of years ago. We just asked her to stage our home for sale and again she proved her value. Marlene understands the customer and how to solve problems creatively and cost effectively. She's a very talented designer and stager.
