Barry and the Griffin Customs team renovated my kitchen in the summer of 2022. What was once my very small and poorly laid out kitchen is now the center and highlight of my home, where guests and family instinctually gather for every get together and visit. Barry quickly picked up on my personal design preferences and made design and layout suggestions along the way such that the finished kitchen is the perfect marriage of my style, seamless functionality, and preserved historical integrity. The crew was prompt, professional, and friendly with everyone in my home, including my four-legged family member. Even after six months in this new kitchen, where I’ve already created so many lifelong memories, I’m still so grateful that I was lucky enough to hire Griffin Customs for this project. During our first consult, I couldn’t stylistically describe what kind of kitchen I wanted. So I told Barry how I wanted it to feel. He immediately got it, smiled, and said “this is going to be fun!” And here we are now, 6 months later, and I’m teaching my friends, nieces, and nephews how to make bread from scratch in what they call my “Practical Magic kitchen.” You can’t put a rating on that.

We were referred to Barry Griffin by another contractor for a kitchen refresh/remodel. He spent many hours on the design, ensuring that everything was as functional and precise as possible, talked through the sticking points with us, respected our budget, and (most impressively) completed the project (complete replacement of cabinets, plus relocation of fridge and ovens, replacement of hood, installation of granite and new kitchen windows) in just over a month! We have already started plans to have him transform our next space.

My husband and I hired Barry Griffin to transform our detached “game room”, which was basically a box! We wanted something with a more rustic feel and unique touches. Barry and his team created an area that exceeded our expectations! He delivered exactly what we had in mind, and much more. Barry has a keen eye for design, very detailed oriented and his welding talents are amazing! We are really enjoying our new space and we would definitely use him again on future projects.

I hired Griffin Customs for a kitchen remodel. The project has far exceeded my expectations. Barry and his team were thoroughly professional and Barry spent hours working directly with me on selecting cabinets, floors, countertops, backsplashes and paint colors. His attention to detail is exceptional and he was a great partner in keeping the project on budget.. In the midst of this project a runaway truck run into my front porch. Barry and his team promptly came and helped clean up and put up supports to hold the porch roof up. And they are rebuilding that for me as well. I could not be happier with my choice of contractor for this project. He will be who I use for any future house projects.

Our experience does not mimic those represented here. Everything started on a professional note but ended with us releasing him from the contract and requesting our deposit back. Very unprofessional when handling his own crisis and those on his team. Numerous cancelled appointment and delays in just simple draft drawings. If your contractor stalls with excuses in the second draft meeting beware.

my wife and I hired Barry to demo a new bathroom shower that was started by what we thought was Reputable contractor, he verified what we thought was ‘poor’ tile work with many mistakes ...Barry’s vision and Quality work have transformed the shower into a welcoming space which is a pleasure to use, we have now contracted Barry for a complete remodel of a second bath and he will be doing a MAJOR remodel on our master after that...highly recommended...

If i could give more stars I would! Griffin Customs transformed a very dark, not well laid out, problematic kitchen into a space that's light, airy, beautifully functional and timeless in its design. The attention to detail, emphasis on precision and collaborative nature that Barry puts into practice made such a huge difference in the process and outcome. I would highly recommend Griffin Customs to anyone wishing to have a one of a kind kitchen or bath.

Barry did an excellent job on our very involved remodeling project. In addition to a complete kitchen and two bathroom remodels, we also required an additional room to be added to our home and a reconfiguration of our living space. Barry had wonderful ideas that made our home not only beautiful, but very functional too. He had the most creative ideas of all the designers we interviewed. He produces a quality product and we enjoyed working with him.

Barry did a beautiful job on our kitchen and dining room remodel. My husband and I are very pleased. The kitchen was an awkward layout, long and narrow. Barry reconfigured and updated the kitchen into a cook's paradise. For the dining room he took an awkward closet and made it into a show piece dry bar. During the design phase, Barry worked tirelessly to ensure that the reconfiguration met our expectations and more. He listened to what we wanted and was patient and honest with what we had to work with. During the construction phase, Barry was hands on. He was there every day working along side his team of skilled workers and supervising. Barry and his team were patient and took time to fully explain what they were doing when we had questions. Barry's attention to detail assured the remodel kept the original house feel (for example, moldings were configured to match the rest of the house). The remodel was also completed on time as promised.

Barry Griffin was an absolute pleasure to work with. We could not be more pleased with the design and construction of our new space. We started out with an awkward space that was not entirely functional as a working kitchen space. We met with a couple of designers prior but none who had as unique of a vision that would make the most out of the space as Barry did. As an artist, designer, and hands on construction experience Barry was the most well rounded and capable designer I believe we could have hired. Throughout the process any concerns we had were fully addressed to our complete satisfaction. Our concerns were always Barry's top priority. There were obstacles that came up during the process as expected for any major renovation. Each issue that arose that could have potentially been a problem he was able to come up with an ingenious way to turn it into a creative aspect of the space which easily became some of our favorite elements. Barry and his crew were incredibly respectful of our home and family during the entire process. We would highly recommend Griffin Customs over and over. Barry's work exceeded all of our expectations ten fold and we can't wait to work with him again.

Vary complicated kitchen remodel that included merging a breakfast room with an exciting high-end galley kitchen. Previous work had been piecemeal and Griffin Customs was able to affordability renovate the kitchen and where possible re-use the best of the existing kitchen. Their design capabilities were incredible and their selection of materials and fixtures made my final decisions easy. Their employees were conscientious and neat and pleasant to work with. I would highly recommend Griffin Customs.

We were extremely pleased with the result we received from our kitchen and family room remodeling. The contractor worked with us from the design phase through completion of the project. The subcontractors he used were all top notch. Barry, at Griffin Customs, was a perfectionist. He sometimes redid work that he was not satisfied with, and he was not afraid to call in a subcontractor to redo work that was not up to his standard. He also was a good listener who made sure we got the results we wanted and although he came up with many ideas to meet our goals, he didn't try to foist his ideas on us if we were not amenable to those ideas. His broad range of professional experience in the industry served him well on this project from the design phase through the nitty gritty details of construction. The only drawback in the whole process was that his perfectionism sometimes caused aspects of the project to take longer than expected, but it was a price worth paying for the outstanding results.

We have met with a few contractors for our master bath renovation and chose Griffin Customs because we were so impressed with the owner Barry Griffin. We really liked the idea of a rimless shower and Griffin Customs was the only one that was able and willing to tackle it. Some other contractors didn't know how to do it so they kept trying to talk us out of the idea. Barry was a pleasure to work with. He has a professional attitude and knowledge. He worked really well with our designer Cheryl Jarvis and made great suggestions in terms of materials as well as ideas. He is organized and knowledgeable and has the skills to be hands on when needed. When one of the subs could not complete our floor and shower tiles due to some personal issues, Barry came in and did the work himself so we could stay on track. We are extremely happy with the completed bath, it is a night and day transformation. It used to be a "blah" kind of room, now it's a "wow". I would recommend Griffin Customs to anyone. You will be happy with their work.

The chicks flew the coop and it was finally time to redesign the second floor of our 1980s colonial to fit our current needs. The main project was the expansion of the tiny master bathroom. Griffin Customs worked with us closely to design and install our dream bath. Barry Griffin, owner, interviewed us in detail before the quote and listened carefully to our ideas and requirements for the renovated space. He asked questions that we had not considered and helped us to refine our vision for the project. From the beginning Mr. Griffin was spot-on with suggestions for the layout and customized features of the bathroom. He immediately grasped our wishes, put them to paper, and worked closely with us to perfect the design before choosing materials. Throughout the project obstacles were met with innovative solutions. We felt confident with his suggestions for materials and placement. From fixtures to cabinetry, tile to stone flooring, his suggestions were perfect for the space. Mr. Griffin's sense of lighting and color is unmatched, and the little details he included created a unique spa environment that surpassed our expectations. Our favorite unique details: - heated travertine flooring - rain glass shower enclosure with stone corner seat - craftsman style window frames - recessed soaking tub enclosure with a wide granite surround - an above eye level rain glass window into the master bedroom and a rain glass pocket door that provide ample natural light to the bathroom and serve as a distinctive design feature in both rooms.
