Unfortunately there are not enough stars for Glennwood Custom Builders and the subcontractors used for building our 6400 sq ft home. It is perfect. Solid. Beautiful. And one year without any major problems and the minor problems were resolved instantly and flawlessly. We have built 9 homes and this was the best experience. The builder, Dan Collins and superintendent, Brett Hartzog, were experienced, knowledgeable and focused. Our home was featured in The Wall Street Journal under "accessible homes" which was a major consideration during the building process. I pinch myself every day when I look around.

The bedroom is just an overwhelmingly excellent example of design + space consideration! The color scheme is handsome and classically masculine and combined with the lighting and other textures makes this an ideal bedroom for kids + their friends if they come over. The structure could be used in a variety of bedrooms, not just a mountain getaway. Great use of lighting as well.

Glennwood Custom Homes is a high caliber and elite custom home builder servicing the Western North Carolina region. We have been fortunate enough to provide them with their concrete foundations, floors and excavation needs over the past seven years. Glennwood and their highly trained staff demand and except only the finest work possible from the team of subcontractors they have chosen to assemble. Our interior design firm has enjoyed collaborating with Glennwood Custom Builders on projects in the Asheville, NC area. The Glennwood team is well organized and they have assembled an excellent team of subcontractors and vendors. Their staff are conscientious, courteous, and professional. We enjoy working with them and would highly recommend them to anyone wishing to build a high quality custom home.

Glennwood built our dream home and we could not have been happier. We lived in another state and thought that there would be things that would just get miscommunicated or not turn out the way we liked because we were not able to oversee the job, but that did not happen. The quality of this home was superior to our expectations. We have looked in the past and now in the present at homes and are amazed at the quality Glennwood has in our home. The walls, floors, and ceilings all meet with the same attention to detail that is difficult to describe how beautiful everything came together. Glennwood also recommended the most amazing decorator as well even though I think if Dan had more time he could be a decorator as well. They work so well together as a team. When we would ask Dan and/or Brett for advice they always gave thorough examples of materials for different projects such as fireplaces, railings, countertops, and even appliances and the advice wasn't always the most expensive just detailed information to help us choose what would look better, be more durable, and least amount of maintenance as this was to be our vacation home. I honestly could not have been happier. We want to live in another area in NC and I only wish we could get them to build our next home as well. I don't think I'll ever find a builder to give us such attention to detail and simply such attention. We have heard horror stories about builders and I have zero complaints in building our home.

Are there more than 5 stars? If so, Dan and Bret deserve them for making the process of building a home from 600 miles away easy! From the initial design through completion your commitment to excellence shows through every detail in the house. Great, talented subs too!
