Glazing Vision

Fantastic project, looks great and the best value I could find. Thanks so much.

We chose GV for the stunning eaves style roof to wall windows they showcase. We completely understood the 10 week delivery time, no issue at all. We also completely trusted their measuring service and assume we paid fully for this. On their final pre installation check they confirmed verbally they were all set for the installation... then followed this by email saying that actually they had made the windows 10 cm too small and that it was up to us to either rectify the gap created, or reorder the windows with no guaranteed lead or installation date. Our builders pulled through, decreased the opening (at our expense) and installation went ahead with GV saying they would compensate us for the mistake. We have had a couple of issues since, and they are so unhelpful it is unbelievable. Screws that are not screwed into holes, simply popped over the gap, moisture leaking through one seal. Plus a constant refusal to pay adequate compensation. Add to this, no apology or admission of it being their fault. We are appalled by their lack of service and continual avoidance.

Six of Glazing Vision's Rooflight systems were installed on the penthouse level of this new build in central London. Within the first three years, 4 of the six systems had developed critical failures with their transformers, control switches, waterproofing, shattered glass, rain sensors, proximity sensors, locking mechanisms. In summary, despite their so-called 10 year warranty, everything that can go wrong with Glazing Vision's systems does go wrong, and they never honour their warranty. Look carefully for alternative roof-lights before committing to Glazing Vision.

I am still mid-project, and should not be. I may never know how good the GV rooflight could have been, because they are delaying to the point that I'm strongly considering cancelling - the 50% I've given them is about to be outstripped by the additional costs their endless delays are costing me, so it might make sense to write off the amount and start again. The project manager assigned to my project is a perfectly nice person, making sympathetic noises, but he couldn't seem to get the timely attention of his own designers to stop delays continuing to build up. Then a promised date to order glass slipped for no apparent reason, which delayed the likely install date, and the eventually promised install date slipped again from what I was told it would be - but (icing on the cake) I only found this out from the Glazing Renovations person who visited the site today. Avoid at all costs - I would have said 'unless you're one of the projects they choose to focus on', but reading the other reviews, it seems like they treat everyone as badly.

Great product. Appalling service. Our architect had recommended them to us. So I told him of our experience. He apologised and said he had also recommended them to two other clients who had similarly terrible experiences. Apparently it changed hands recently. I could write an essay on how dreadful (and expensive) the whole process was. If you're a homeowner - and god forbid, a layman - you'll be spoken to as if you're an idiot. And poor - with the implication that that's a bad thing, of course.

"I must remind you that we our contract is between your architect and Glazing Vison". Very poor experience with both Glazing Vision, who sell you the product, and Glazing Renovation, who fit it [as has been noted elsewhere, this is not at all clear to the customer]. Glazing Vision were recommended to us by our architect for a sky light wall in-fill between our two dormers, as part of our recent loft extension. Not only was it meant to have a 'Grand Designs' style 'wow' feature - it was an integral part of our planning application with the local authority. We duly paid the deposit on 1 July. Glazing Vision received all the dimensions etc from our architect. We were told manufacturer lead in time was 6 weeks, and a site measure would be done on-site before manufacture. I had to follow up with Glazing Vision on 1 September politely asking 'where is it?' to be told we were scheduled for installation 3 October. This was 13 weeks on from our order confirmation. We were told the site survey had been conducted on 5 August - 5 weeks after our deposit was paid - and that manufacture lead in time had now slipped from 6 to 8 weeks. Chris Cowdrey, our project manager, than erroneously - presumably through a careless typo - said our installation would be brought forward. When he corrected his mistake, and we expressed our disappointment, he double-downed on his rudeness by stating that the contract was 'between the architect and Glazing Vision'. The inference being, even as the customer, we were not to ask such questions. Due to Glazing Vision's lateness with delivery, our renovation work was completed. A representative from Glazing Renovation arrived a week before to inquire where it was, and I told them they were late and would have to agree alternative solutions (we had paid £9,000 for 3 months of scaffolding which they could have gladly used..). Glazing Renovation, who are the installation company, duly turned up on 3 October. Clearly, no conversations or solutions had been discussed or agreed. They do not even take the product from the pavement to the roof, by the way. 'Delivery' quite literally means to the roadside. They refused to install it, and when I said 'you are very late' I was brusquely told, standing in my own bedroom, that: 'We are busy'. Luckily, our builder was on-site finishing snagging jobs and agreed to move the sky lights to the loft and then install them himself. My wife is 7 months pregnant, and I could neither lift them both myself nor (obviously) ever hope to install them. We have been left incredibly disappointed. The sky lights they delivered were not to the dimensions supplied. Our builder had to heighten and narrow the pocket to make them fit. Upon final inquiry through our architect, the company also refused to refund the £1000 'installation fee'.

This company have been terrible, The roof light we purchased 11 yrs ago has never functioned without problems since the very beginning. Constant problems with the sensors which we have subsequently spent thousands on botched solutions and the company have now told us their products are not designed to last beyond the warranty period and you should expect to change you rooflight every 10yrs! They have been slow to respond, with long delays on call outs and generally terrible internal communication. I would suggest using a different company as Glazing Vision is not a superior product or guarantee despite the cost. Conor McCarthy

We had 2 skylights purchased from glazing vision, Delivery was prompt, communication prior to ordering was great. They arrived on time, instructions we easy enough to follow, So very happy overall with them now they’ve been installed.

We have recently been impressed with their ability to comply with the secure by design requirements which not all companies seem aware of. We have used the skyglide on our Skylight house, the fixed and venting rooflights on our Stacked house and Y house and a massive bespoke sliding rooflight on our Parkhouse which the clients adore despite the investment.
