As a local contractor, I have had the pleasure of working with Grant Sakiyama on several projects. He is an efficient communicator and brilliant designer. He is extremely organized and conscientious about the details. His staff are second to none, and he works with the finest trade professionals. You can be assured that your site will be meticulously maintained throughout the construction phase. It is a pleasure to write this review~

I am so grateful to have had Sakiyama Construction do my home renovation/rebuild. I honestly don’t feel that it could have gone any better! Grant, and everyone who worked on the site were all friendly, respectful and extremely competent. I appreciated the open communication throughout the project, along with the excellent quality and attention to detail. Anything that did come up was handled calmly and with immediate resolution. A lot of my material and fixture choices were done throughout the job once it began. Both Patty and Grant were very helpful with their guidance and keeping me on track through this process. The job site was always kept as clean as possible and they were all very good at staying clear of getting in my neighbour’s way, in an area where this is next to impossible. The estimated budget was accurate. The amount that it went over was more due to things that came up after the job began and my personal choices along the way. I was always well informed of how any of these changes or decisions would impact the budget. It took a bit longer than anticipated, but worth the wait to have the excellent results. I am loving my new space! I would, and have already, recommend this contractor to anyone that is about to undertake a large renovation or new build.

Sakiyama Construction is currently building our new home and our experience with Grant Sakiyama and all of the people who work for him couldn't be better. Grant helped us to chose an architecture firm, gave us advice about our building site, and he has been with us every step of the way through the design, and now into the building phase. Grant is highly knowledgeable, experienced, extremely ethical, well organized and budget conscious. He is very careful about choosing who he works with - from trades to suppliers, and is on-site everyday. Our architects praise his attention to detail, his ethical business practises and the high quality of his work. We had been told that designing and building a home would be stressful, but our experience with Grant has been fun and exciting because he is on top of all of the details and makes sure that everything goes according to plan. We are building on a lot in an established neighbourhood and Grant has made a point of speaking to all of our new neighbours to explain the process and address any concerns they might have about the build. We know we aren't the only clients who have had this experience with Sakiyama Construction. Whenever we are out and mention that we are building a house people invariably talk about their own trials and tribulations with renovations and building and then they ask about our experience. When we say we are working with Grant Sakiyama and thoroughly enjoying the process we often hear something along the lines of, "Oh, you're working with Grant? Of course you're happy, we've heard he's excellent" or "Friends of ours worked with Sakiyama Construction and raved about their experience".

We give Sakiyama Construction our highest recommendation. The work is meticulous and the level of crafsmanship superb. This company enjoys new challenges in design and building. If you are building something out of the ordinary and extrodinary, there is no other choice in our opinion!

I have used this contractor before (3major projects in total) and am very pleased with his team and their work. The quality is excellent. He is easy to get along with. His cost estimates are quite accurate. Although he always starts his jobs on time he typically underestimates the time it will take to complete a project - but I know this and factor it in. If you have a hard deadline he will try to meet it. I know when I hire Sakiyama Construction I don't have to worry.

Professional company with professional staff and services - built a home addition including a new kitchen and family room, with custom details including a walnut and Quartz fireplace and a 16' kitchen island! We are continuing to work with them on Phase 2 of our ongoing project and would recommend them to friends.
