We have used Gia for a number of projects; new Bathroom in 2013, refinish kitchen cabinets 2014, paint color recommendation 2014. In each case we have been extremely pleased with the recommendations, design and execution of the work. From start to finish she walked us through each phase, patiently answering all of our questions. Gia and her team are excellent craftsman and very conscientious and considerate when working within someone's home. My husband's sayings are, "Call Gia, she'll know what to do." and "If Gia recommends it that's what we're doing." Gia is currently advising us on color, style and design choices as we plan and construct our new retirement home. We're very glad to have her expertise guiding us.

I began a small project which involved the painting of two rooms in my house but within minutes of sitting down and trying to choose a wall color, I was already stuck. Initially I was confident in my ability to at least choose a new color for my walls, but was soon at a standstill and I realized that this project was not going to proceed unless I had help. I decided to schedule a consultation with Gia, and after discussing my vision and color choices that I was hoping for, she chose the perfect color for my walls, made sure that the new color would compliment my existing cabinets, counters, and floors, and was able to show me with a sample what the new color was going to look like on the walls. She also gave me a blueprint to work from as far as curtain color, length, furniture placement and size, etc., for each of the areas that I would be painting, along with many other recommendations about color and decorating the newly painted spaces. The result was a beautiful space that now flows from room to room and looks absolutely amazing. I could not have completed this project without her help and guidance. Whether you have a major project in mind, or just need help with a smaller project as I did, I highly recommend giving Gia call to schedule a consultation. She will work with you to achieve the space you are looking for and you will not be disappointed! Thank you, Gia! I love my new rooms and I couldn't have achieved any of it without you!

Gia and her team are top notch professionals! Gia came up with a beautiful interior design plan for our living, dining and kitchen area. She picked up on our style immediately. We reached out to Designs By Gia when we were in a design crisis, We had ordered furniture and flooring but had difficulty choosing a paint color. Gia was kind enough to fit us in her schedule before work to guide us through the process. She helped us choose the paint color, trim color and floor plan layout. She provided the steps to complete the design such as the area rug, curtains, lamps and accent pieces. The project came together beautifully and the paint color was absolutely perfect. She left us with many recommendations and ideas; she went beyond the scope of our requests. We highly recommend Designs by Gia for projects large and small.

The best place to start is trying to illustrate the project I hired Gia to accomplish. Visualize a mountain or a 1923 Italian Renaissance 7,000 sqft home in New England and my first ever renovation project! I love working with Gia, her knowledge of project best practices, knowledge of materials, her vision, her commitment, her customer service, (just to name a few important qualities), made hiring Gia the best decision I've made in tackling this long term, fifteen room renovation project, while continuing to live in the home. Thus far we have started and completed two rooms, our living room and my daughter Ashley’s bedroom. Gia spent some time, with Ashley, discussing what she envisioned. Gia absolutely hit the nail on the head the first go around, Ashley’s face upon seeing the conceptual drawings was priceless. Everything from the wallpaper, the trim paint, furnishings, area rug were all perfectly matched for the space and Ashley. Gia comes highly recommend and I am looking forward to continuing to work with her.

I was planning to have my kitchen floor replaced. Not knowing what the best option would be I contacted Gia. She came to my house first in order to have an idea as to what colors were on our walls, cabinets and counter tops. Afterwards, we traveled to the flooring company and within a few minutes, Gia had pulled out what she thought was the best options for me. Even though it was a much darker tone than I was originally thinking to use, I am so glad I took Gia's advice. My hardwood floor looks absolutely beautiful and it works perfectly in my kitchen. I highly recommend Gia if you're looking for an interior decorator!!

This Designer was recommended to me by a local tile & flooring shop. I was looking for help with styles and colors of tile to finish my "new construction" bathrooms. The house is a more Rustic Style, in a wooded, waterfront setting. I wanted to achieve a warm, inviting, retro/vintage appearance for the bathrooms to match the decor of the rest of the house. Gia responded promptly to my phone call and came out to the house in a short time period. I shared pictures, finishes and spoke to her of my vision for the bathrooms. After a week or so, she came back to show me the tile and color choices she had determined for my bathrooms. While the colors were a more neutral, "organic" tone, the style was a modern, contemporary choice of size and use. This did not come close to what my vision was and what we had discussed during her first visit. For a fairly significant amount ($), I am right back at square one. I feel Gia totally "missed the boat" and feel she is not able to use her talents if a client is looking for a "new-old house" design. My style is not contemporary or modern, but comfortable, warm, rustic, vintage. I would not recommend her for anyone interested in achieving that look.

Unfortunately, unlike what we see on television, great design is a process that requires planning, communication, and investment in professional services to get professional results. This process is very often over-simplified in a one hour episode showing highlights of a complete design and renovation.
Had we been hired for the overall design of this project, we would have had the ability to go through the proper design process of creating a design, viewing samples, and helping this client to create the look that she is desiring. All of this should be done before construction begins. Great design requires a great deal of planning, time, preparation, and communication between client and design professional.
For this particular project, we were only hired to come up with some tile samples that we would recommend for her project. The client was going to decide and plan her own layout for the tile. This project was already under construction and already nearing the tile stage. With all of the other elements already chosen by the client we could see that this client designed herself into a corner and I did try to help her with the few hours that she invested with our service. We did offer to do some layout drawings as well but the client declined this service. Had we gotten some productive feedback on the tile selection, we definitely could have continued this process to help this client find something that she liked and that would work with her existing selections, however the client advised that she was looking elsewhere for design help.
I did reach out to the client once again to offer assistance as an unhappy client is rare for us and I real know that if she was willing to continue the process, we could have helped this client with her design issues.
As a design professional with 17+ years of experience and many happy clients,
here are some tips for anyone looking to start a large construction or renovation project:

1-Planning is key- the time to make all of the material selections for a project is well before the construction of a project begins. This will let you work out all your ideas on paper instead of on your home where it is more expensive to correct those mistakes.

2-Invest in a professional designer with experience in designing and managing a large project, invest the time and cost involved in these services and discuss all of your ideas with your designer and consider their advice, as their only goal is to make your home right for you and your family.

3-There is a certain order in which design decisions are made: for instance, paint colors are always chosen last in any project. Building materials, tile, large design elements, fabrics and other selections should be chosen and then and paint colors can be selected to complement these selections. When your paint color goes on first, you now have to find other elements that have this paint color's undertones. This is where a lot of people stop and get very frustrated. When being lead by a professional, this process is such easier and it allows the client to really get the desired results for their project.

Gia was able to capture my ideas, aesthetic, and needs for my bathroom remodeling after just one meeting. The work entailed a complete renovation of a Master Bath that included moving the laundry area to another space and adding in a Guest Bathroom. She provided a detailed visual board so I could see how that vision would play out based on her design talents. All of the contractors and Gia were responsive to any questions I had as well as keeping my budget in mind throughout the project. The final result was absolutely beautiful and functional.

Gia makes completing large design projects easy and painless. If you've ever had any renovations done on your home you know how much of your time is lost to chasing contractors. I worked with Gia Interior Design and Gia was excellent from our first interaction. She was prompt at getting back to me, and provided me superior service during a busy Holiday week. I moved cross country into a smaller home and she worked all of my furniture, art, and accessories into my new home with such ease. It was beautifully completed in a timely fashion and with rave reviews from all my visitors through out the holidays. She brings an excellent team if needed and they too were extremely professional. I was very impressed by their efficient, yet flawless, use of time. They stayed focused while pulling together so many different tasks as I had only moved in three days prior. I asked Gia for a consultation on a home that I was renovating. For this project I asked for her to pick colors and materials but not a major design job because it was a small overall project. The color scheme makes this house really pop and I have received nothing but really positive comments from housing professionals and prospects. Definitely worth the money that was spent. I would highly recommend these services.

My husband and I wanted to update our bathroom and had no idea where to begin. We began by calling Gia and she created a plan for our bath. It was fabulous and we hired her and she brought in her crew. They worked every day and were supervised by Gia. She made sure that the work was top notch. In addition, she kept us informed of the progress daily. When the room was finished, we were "over the moon" with the results. A friend saw it and said that it was a bathroom worthy of the Four Seasons Hotel and we agreed. Gia was clear on what our vision for the room was...even though we were not! She and her merry workmen made our bathroom gorgeous!!!

We worked with Gia on a kitchen design project and were very satisfied. Gia is professional, responsive, and employs a highly competent support staff. Her ability to manage the entire project and keep us from the "fray" was greatly appreciated. The project took longer than expected and became more expensive than anticipated, but Gia listened to our concerns and worked with us.
