Geoff responded promptly to my initial inquiry via his website, we met at my home to discuss options and the resultant piece of work is not only a lamp but a substantial piece of artwork. Geoff Marshall’s Conus light fitting system came to our attention at a crucial time during the construction of the Gregson and Weight Chapel project. This complex is unique in Australia and we were looking for outstanding fittings for the chapels. Geoff’s work filled this requirement superbly. We appreciate the modernity of his design, the use of material and of course Geoff’s connection back to the Sunshine Coast. The selected fittings have a presence which is strong but not overpowering and as multiple elements within the chapel voids they serve to create both atmosphere and focus. Geoffrey's designs truly speak for themselves. They are sleek, modern and beautifully crafted. As part of our Australian Contemporary Emerging (ACE) Design Awards this year Geoffrey was awarded the Student Craftsmanship Award for his LV Conus Lamp chosen by independent judges from a range of design backgrounds. Each and every one was thoroughly impressed with his work and attention to detail as much as we at the AFA are. HIs pieces were then taken to Shanghai to be exhibited at the China International Furniture Fair in the AFA stand and were truly a stand out for visitors and other exhibitors alike. Not only is Geoffrey extremely talented but also an absolute pleasure to work with. We highly recommend his product and look forward to seeing what his future designs bring to the industry.
