While this product looks nice, beware if you live in an area were there are woodpeckers, this product is very appealing to at least 2 species of woodpeckers: downy and red-headed. The company proclaims it is not aware that the risk of woodpecker damage is high and will not offer warranty coverage for any damage by woodpeckers. Consumer protection agencies in the USA and Canada need to force this company to disclose in all marketing promotions that GenStone faux siding it is NOT woodpecker resistant.

We value any feedback, especially when it helps us improve our service or products. Like any other siding, our panels are not woodpecker proof nor do we advertise that it will resist damage from pests. Our warranty is available to download on our website at any time and it clearly states we cannot warrant against woodpeckers. In this particular case, the customer's damage would have been easily fixed with our color match caulking and paint, which we would have gladly provided to the customer free of charge even though the damage is not covered under our warranty. Unfortunately, we were not given a chance to remedy the situation as the customer had removed all of our panels from the home. If you live in an area with high woodpecker activity, we recommend purchasing a deterrent sound maker which is available at any home improvement store to keep the woodpeckers away from all siding materials.

Do not waste your time or money installing this product. It looks beautiful for the first year, but after a summer of southern sun exposure it has an extreme fade factor. This product is expensive and after voicing our concerns to the retailer and written complaints to the manufacturer there has been no satisfactory response.

I have never seen such an authentic looking faux stone product and after watching the install videos I am convinced my husband and I could complete our project on our own. The representative at Genstone was very accommodating and provided us with a timely quote. We are going to finish up the bathroom remodel we already started but as soon as that's complete we will be starting or Genstone project in the backard asap.

Genstone panels are by far the most authentic looking solution to real stone in the market. I would recommend using this product to anyone. The panels are incredibly easy to install. They simply screw to the wall!
