General Pavingstones

Based on original work performed by Jon and his team, I would have given a 5-star review, and highly recommended them to anyone looking to install or refresh a patio. Unfortunately, the products used have not stood the short test of time, and we're facing major expense to address product deficiency issues. In 2020 we noticed erosion of some of the stones in the pool area. Jon was initially receptive to the issue, came to the house to inspect and mentioned that he had never encountered this problem before. In that initial meeting, he said that Cambridge had always done right by the customers and not to be concerned. Cambridge came out and inspected. However, the response that eventually came back was that while neither Jon nor Cambridge could explain the issue, they determined it was attributable to me, even though only approximately 20% of the product is affected. They said they would not cover any replacement expenses and warranty doesn't cover any of the issues (again, unable to explain what the issue is). Jon mentioned to me personally that he was disappointed in Cambridge's response, and would need to re-think using them for future customers. Unfortunately, just didnt' get what we paid for, and looking for major rehab work after just three years.

Jon and his team at General Pavingstones just did a phenomenal job at our home. They repaired our front stoop, removed the bricks that were falling apart, re-faced it and installed blue stone. It looks great. Along with that they removed our old paver walkway, widened it, installed drainage piping from our downspouts underneath it, reconfigured and repaired our lighting and graded and re-seeded the lawn. It too looks great. I can't recommend them enough. Jon came to our home with the bed of his truck lined with samples. We narrowed it down to a few and he provided us with advice and recommendations. He gave us the timeline on when we could expect the project to start. We received several updates prior to the start. He and his team started on time and finished quickly. There were no surprises in the final bill and we're thrilled with the results. The day they were finished Jon emailed us this warranty and a sketch that laid out the work that was done. Professional from start to finish and great quality work. If you are considering a project like this for your home your making a mistake if you don't hire General Pavingstones to do the work.

Our home was built in 1998, and the front walkway and brick stairs were falling apart. We contacted Jon at General Pavingstones and he came out within the week. He provided us with many options and listened to our concerns. He also worked within our budget and his estimates accurately reflected the final cost. He and his team paid incredible attention to detail and we are very happy with the results. Our home now has the best curb appeal in the neighborhood. I plan on using General Pavingstones again in the future to improve my backyard.

We recently moved into a house without a PATIO and so surveyed the talent available. GPs proposal included a BREAKDOWN of the DELIVERABLES along with an ANIMATION of what the final result would look like. The GP team arrived on time as promised to initiate the layout of the work and arrived each following morning at 7:00AM to continue working. Each of the teams talents complimented the others and they performed like a symphony. GP uses all the latest technology - including LASER LEVELING to deliver a QUALITY product. 10-days later, the patio was COMPLETE including fresh GRASS SEEDING. My compliments to Jon and his team.

Jon Valenta, the owner of the business, and his incredibly talented, hard working and professional staff built a patio on our property recently. Everything Jon told us they would do was accomplished and they went above and beyond what our expectations were. They met all deadlines and the budget was maintained - there were no surprises as to extra cost at the completion of the project. We highly recommend General Pavingstones. General Pavingstones installed a new front & back walkway, along with some pathway lighting & we are extremely satisfied. From the beginning we were impressed w/Jon's honesty, integrity & knowledge. From returning our initial call to following up w/appointments, communicating info on materials, design & cost, we were amazed with the professionalism of Jon and his staff. From start to finish, Jon and his team were absolute professionals! I don't think you could find a nicer guy who is upfront and honest about the work, project cost and timing, and also stands behind his work. It began with Jon providing the rendering of what the patio would look like as well as a ton of design ideas....and patience while we re-thought our choices on color, layout, etc. we also had to come up an option to ensure the proper drainage due to the grade and Jon put several options out there for us to consider. We've had ALOT of hard rain this summer and absolutely no issues! I never had a single concern about quality and if there was an issue I knew that Jon would go the extra mile if necessary to address it. In the end, we have a great new patio that really enhances our outdoor space and will enjoy it for many years to come. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend General Pavingstones to anyone looking to have work done.

General Pavingstones did an amazing job installing our back yard patio! They work one project at a time so we were not inconvenienced waiting to have it finished! They actually found defects in the bricks that I, as the home owner, didn't pick up on, that caused them to have to redo the job at no additional cost to me! They also did a great job landscaping after they finished! I would recommend them to build or repair your paving stone project! Much thanks to Jon and his team for their professionalism in completing the project in a timely manner and adding a backyard space that we will enjoy for years to come!

Jon is very professional. He did a great job talking through the decision -making and provided the guidance that I needed for the project. He and his workers are efficient and meticulous. The work site was super tidy each day and at the end of the project. The quality of the work is excellent. The price was quite fair for the job. I would highly recommend him!

General Pavingstones constructed a new concrete driveway apron (which included part of the sidewalk) at my house. Even after meeting Jon, who was very polite and professional, I still didn't expect too much considering past experience with other contractors. I figured... this is a small job... they will keep pushing our job back in the schedule, they will rush and it won't be done too well at all. Happily, I was 100% wrong. They began on time as scheduled, and they were meticulous - like it was their home, they communicated well and it came out perfect: well constructed, well finished... all around amazing job. I am so grateful. Thank you General Pavingstones!!

My wife and I are happy to give Jon Valenta and co. a resounding recommendation! Jon conceived a solution to our failing retaining wall that was in line with our 'starter' ideas, and executed the design and construction expertly. The project was started and completed within the summer of 2011 as promised, and very much to our satisfaction. Jon has been back to our house about three times in the past four years for some minor re-gluing of some top stones and one repair of a light, most recently this past July, all at no cost to us, again as promised. He also made one trip to take some pictures which we were flattered to see in his later ad packet, (highlighting the dramatic before and after, as well as my wife's fairly awesome gardening touch). Such expertise did not come cheaply but I have it on good authority, from a family member who is occasionally one of Jon's vendors (for pavers), that our total was very much in line for a job this big.
