Galanter & Jones

I ordered on August 23 and was told "Hi Greg, we're getting your order ready to be shipped. We will notify you when it has been sent." Three months later, on November 24, they told me that the shipping company had picked it up. I still haven't received it. They are currently unable to determine where it is. I can't speak to the quality of the product, as I have never received it. But I would not buy from them unless you can put your hands on it and take it home with you.

We ordered 3 custom pieces from Galanter and Jones. From our first visit to their San Francisco studio, to the installation of our fantastic furniture, Galanter and Jones was wonderful to work with. Aaron and Miranda were highly professional to work with. They let us come take a look at their studio on a Saturday afternoon (with very little notice) with all of our (4) kids in tow. Both the tour of their workshop and review of how they make their products were highly informative. The team did multiple sight inspections at our home and helped us figure out what our electrical needs would be for our new furniture. Installation was done perfectly (even when we discoved I gave them the wrong measurement for cord length-- they came back to fix the issue free of charge). Our installation was also tricky becuase the (heavy) furniture was being placed on our 4th floor roof-deck. This duo truly cares about craftsmanshp and delivering a great, well-designed and stylish product.

I have a large deck very near a cliff overlooking the Pacific ocean. Soon after I moved in over 2 years ago, I first sat on the Helios at Flora Grubb Gardens. I noted that this might be an amazing addition to my deck and allow for more outdoor enjoyment. I contacted Galanter & Jones via their website and expressed my concern over the electrical aspect with the wind and water associated from the sea. I asked whether the Helios would withstand severe weather. Aaron responded with technical details showing that in essence, the Helios can handle plenty of water and resist corrosion. Two years later I purchased the Helios. I knew I would love the Helios sofa, but what has surprised me after having it a while is just how much it is expanding my deck into usable outdoor space. Before, my deck was limited to ideal weather or brief moments until it became to cold. The Helios has allowed me enjoy mornings, afternoons, sunsets and star gazing because the heat of the Helios warms my core. I’ve had to even turn the temperature down at times because it gets too hot. Even in December with unseasonably cold Bay Area temperatures, I sat outside with friends. I never would have guessed it, and I don’t know whether it was intentional or not, but I like the way that the Helios is slightly curved. It allows four (or five) people to sit on the sofa and not be in a straight line so it fosters conversation (almost similar to sitting in a half circle). I have had company over and we are glued to the sofa engaged in conversation. I didn’t expect the Helios to become what I now consider a key centerpiece to my home. My neighbor came over two nights ago and sat on the Helios at sunset. She bought one the next day. Thank you for making the outdoors more accessible.

My wife and I bought the Helios "couch" for our back patio and have found ourselves turning into addicts of its heated goodness. We also hooked it up to a WeMo remote controllable outlet that pre-warms the chair every morning for our waking, as well as it allows us to turn it on from anywhere in the world. Literally, we turn this bad boy on when we are 15 minutes from home to make sure we are set when we arrive. We wish they made beds:)!

i LOVE my heated sofa. I spend almost all of my free time sitting outside on the Helios. I've gained a new addition to the house.

These seats are unbelievable. They make sitting on my otherwise chilly roof deck warm, comfortable and you can hang out for hours. The best part is seeing people's delight when they sit down for the first time. I cannot recommend this product more highly.

After sitting on some of this beautiful furniture at a friend's house, it was literally love at first sit. Never have I felt so warm and cozy whilst sitting outside on a typical and bitterly cold and foggy San Francisco night. When we re-finished our deck and decided to get some new outdoor furniture, Galanter & Jones was the first place I turned. I emailed with Miranda and she was incredibly responsive and helpful. I visited their warehouse in person to decide on colors. I only ordered one lounger and two chairs so I was not a huge customer, but Miranda made me feel important. The furniture was finished about two weeks before the due date and we are completely THRILLED with it! It is beautiful, really almost sculptural in design, and comfortable and warm and cozy. When we first turned on the lounger, our entire family of five sat on it together and didn't want to get up. AMAZING product and great service. ps - Re-reading this, it sounds like I must be related to them or have some other connection, but I honestly don't. Just a happy customer.

I have specified two different benches for my clients from Galanter and Jones. Aaron's concrete heated benches are unique and impeccable. His customer service is top notch. I look forward to placing more heated seating in my client's gardens. Highly recommend! I will post photos soon.

Our Helios heated bench from Galanter and Jones is exquisite. I loved that I was invited to visit the studio for initial planning and color choices. Getting the finished bench up to our second floor deck turned out to be a challenge, but Aaron and Miranda found a talented crane operator and the whole operation took twenty minutes. It's the most beautiful, functional furniture imaginable and perfect for cool San Francisco evenings. Our neighbors love it, too!

I could not recommend Galanter & Jones more highly for their integrity, their impeccable design and quality of product. My partner and I own their original helios bench and have it placed on the front deck of our cabin overlooking the ocean on the Mendocino Coast. It has utterly changed our life! We can now enjoy living outside year round and can't wait to delight our friends with the beauty and warmth of the radiant bench. Invariably, we all end up competing for a seat, or graciously take turns on the bench. We have created an outdoor living room around our helios and, like it's name, our universe now centers around it. We never miss the chance to watch the sunset, have a cocktail, or gather for a meal around the bench. You won't know what you've been missing until you have one!!

The Helios is one of my favorite things to use in a groovy outdoor setting. It looks amazing, but the true benefit is sitting in one - they are incredibly comfortable and make indoor/outdoor living possible!
