Working with F+K on our new ranchouse was a delight from start to finish. Their attention to detail and quality, their ability to listen and translate our vision of our ranch into a custom space and the energy of their team made this project both fun and rewarding!

Furman and Keil understand space and light. They are good listeners and designed with my needs in mind. They created beautiful rooms and unusual cabinets. They are masterful with materials--a thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We are a renovator and builder of custom homes in Central and West Austin and had the good fortune of collaborating with F+K on a very technical remodel/addition project. The way they transformed this old stone cottage and blended the old and new was simply stunning. Even more impressive, to us as builders, was the thoroughness and accuracy of their construction documents. After 16 months of diving through the plans and specifications, we've yet to find an issue. On a project of this scope and complexity that is almost unheard of. They continued to add substantial value throughout construction in their Construction Administration role. Their participation in the submittal and shop drawing process was invaluable, as were their practical solutions to various construction issues that surfaced in the field. Their input on means and methods, which usually falls solely to the general contractor, was welcomed and valued highly. Setting aside all the wonderful things we could say about them professionally, on a very personal level they are a real pleasure to work with. Always available, always helpful, always prepared and all that with a smile! We look forward to the opportunity to work with them again in the near future.

As home builders, our experience working with Furman + Keil Architects has been exceptional. Our relationship began during the budget development and final pool design of a custom residential project on Lake Austin. This specific project was challenging in many ways due to a very narrow waterfront building site. With great consideration for the existing trees and terrain, they were able to finesse every square inch of the building space to create a smart, efficient and elegantly designed home that suits the site and its owners perfectly. From the very beginning, communication with their firm has been excellent. Each member of the F+K team is easily approachable and accessible throughout the design and construction process. We worked with Gary Furman, of Furman & Keil, and two of his associates on a major renovation of our 1986 home. Three months were spent in planning with the architects and the builder, Pilgrim Building Company. The renovation took place over the next 6 months, with intensive teamwork and professionalism from all parties. We added only 200 square feet by utilizing existing concrete slab that was outside the kitchen and utility room. However, the new kitchen and utility room are significantly larger than the old ones, with an abundance of storage in both and in a back hallway that did not previously exist. We loved the architects' creativity and their ability to listen to our needs. They were able to translate both into a gorgeous, functional home. The architects' team work with the builder and with us was outstanding. We have lots more photos and would love to share them with you but I am unable to load more here.
