Fred Sons Remodeling Specialties

Fred and his crew did an excellent job with our project. We had a wall removed between the kitchen eating area and the living room and then finished with a knee wall. The work was meticulously accomplished; the woodwork cap on the knee wall and the finished and painted drywall are perfect and look as if it was original construction. Electrical lines were rerouted, a cold air return was relocated and all was accomplished within Fred's estimated timeline. The budget was exactly as promised. We couldn't be happier.

Fred and his team did an excellent job. This is the second job we've hired them for. This was a total master-bath remodel, including doubling its size. We utilized Fred's architect for all design work, including the suspended vanity. The job required re-plumbing the room and running plenty of additional electrical for multiple new outlets and fixtures. There were a few changes along the way (a rotted floor joist, added spray foam insulation throughout a portion of the house, added special order shower door) and Fred's team was available for the schedule changes and handled the sub contractor's well. Fred kept me up to date with change orders and invoices. He was communicative and on site. When a worker fell ill, Fred stepped in and did a lot of extra work himself and soon had new people on the job. Working with Fred and his team was like having skilled family in the house. They are trustworthy, timely, artistic, and hardworking. In the end, the finished job is perfect! I have a beautiful bathroom.

Fred spent a lot of time with us, planning the layout. He was very patient as we worked through the process. After we settled on the layout, he was really helpful with cabinet selection and layout. Our suggestion-use the vendors he suggests. We made final decisions the first week of June and signed the papers. Demolition began after the 4th of July and was completed shortly after Labor Day. Usually demolition is scheduled after cabinets arrive, which is a good practice. We scheduled our renno during summer so that I could be home. Unfortunately we had a miscommunication after the demo and almost nothing happened for a week. Fred and his crew were friendly and responsive to our requests. We appreciated their craftsmanship and love our new kitchen. Most issues were minor in the scheme of things, not worth mentioning. Just be sure to get an idea of when the crew is coming. Sometimes they work more than one job and come at inconsistent times.

Fred and his crew tore out the existing kitchen (it was the original kitchen that had been in the house since 1978) and started from the floor up. Everything (electrical, plumbing) was brought up to code, cabinets we bought were built and installed, fixed the drywall, worked with the counter top store when they came in to measure/install, worked with the flooring company and with the tiling company so that everything went as smooth as possible. There were also a number of little touches (sealing things and making suggestions) that went beyond the scope of what we'd set out to do. Fred is extremely easy to work with. He listens, he communicates, and he's professional. If something came up (the counter top rep called him about an issue or if his guys needed some extra materials that I hadn't originally picked up), Fred let me know right away. Any potential problems were given attention and time to be handled before it became a "we need to stop work until this is resolved" issue. Pricing we very clear up front and anytime we did something ourselves that cancelled out a line item or something was added, Fred maintained and provided a tracking sheet of it all. There were no surprises. Furthermore, he was always available to go over and make suggestions before, during and post-renovation. There is a very good chance we are going to have additional projects started next year and if we do, our starting point will be Fred.

Fred and his team did a great job helping us finish out our partially finished basement. We wanted to have bedrooms and a TV room added. We had a tight deadline to meet for such a project and they got it done. Fred was very approachable, friendly and patient. He took the time to get to know us and understand what we were looking for in the project. Most importantly he helped us to work within our budget. There were absolutely no "high pressure" or "bait and switch" tactics. He is also very knowledgeable with building materials and codes. He secured the proper permits and ensured the work was done correctly to pass inspections the first time. As a bonus, he fixed a trim on the garage door which had been chew through by an animal - for free!

Fred and his team are awesome! There was always progress being made on our kitchen remodel project and Fred did a great job keeping us informed along the way. If an issue/challenge was encountered, Fred came to us with soulutions and options. We even tacked on a couple additional items to our job - painting another room and fixing/reinforcing our garage. Fred and Brett are personable, professional, and a pleasure to work with. We highly recommend Fred Sons remodeling.
