Fran's independent design firm, FAID, has what her clients describe as "The EYE". She uniquely combines her marketing background with her interior design background to create environments that can combine a variety of different “styles” or “periods” for your project. Space planning, furniture selection and design, plumbing and lighting specifications are all in her "wheel house." Her style can be described as classically contemporary, and a little "out of the box"! FAID also practices what they fondly call "Stealth Sustainability" by seeking out long lasting or sustainable products and materials where ever possible and educating clients through the choices presented as the project unfolds. Fran completed her Interior Design degree at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and has worked in large multi-national business environments and small owner-managed companies; she can draw on this experience to understand and overcome the challenges and obstacles you face in creating your custom space. Her clients appreciate the best of different types of architecture and design and welcome the opportunity to use good design in their home to create a sigh of relief and pleasure when they walk through their front door.

I met Fran for the first time on a job in huntersville nc , first thing I noticed was her attention to details on the plan she provided to the customer , it was well executed and detailed in a way for a successful outcome , she had a good command of construction process throughout the job and coordinated her parts of the job to work seamlessly with our construction part of the project,, was always available and on site when needed for decisions,,, vey experienced and professional in her field ,, look forward to work with her in future ,, James onto , alta construction , Charlotte nc

We had the pleasure of working with Fran and her client on a kitchen remodel. Fran was very responsive, creative, and always looked out for the best interest of the client. She had great architectural drawings and was very clear with what she wanted, yet flexible when certain items were not available. I would highly recommend Fran and look forward to working with her again.

I had the pleasure of working with Fran Alexander recently on a major renovation and refurnishing of my apartment. I was very pleased with the outcome and credit Fran with assisting me to make the best choices. She understood the look I had hoped to achieve and knew where to go to purchase what I liked and what would work best for the space. She has an excellent eye for accessories, artwork, carpeting, lighting, wallpaper, etc. We renovated a kitchen, 2 bathrooms, removed a wall and redid ceilings and flooring. We also upgraded the entire electrical system and installed all new lighting fixtures. We then refurnished a living room, 2 bedrooms with a new built in closet and a large terrace with outdoor furniture and ceiling fans. Fran's work ethic is impeccable. She was very reliable, always on time and I never had to worry about Fran being at my home to accept deliveries with me and make sure everything was correct and not damaged. Working with Fran was like working with a caring, trusted and very talented friend. I hope to work with her in the future and would highly recommend her.

Our kitchen needed lighting to show off the beautiful cabinetry and wood flooring. All it took was one phone call to Fran Alexander. She asked for measurements, gave some suggestions for placements and approved the fixtures I had chosen. It's important to place overhead lighting at the correct height with the correct illumination. Fran supplied us with that information. We could not be happier! Fran helped us achieve all our goals. Lighting and beauty!

I have worked with Fran on several projects because of her creativity, knowledge, attention to detail, organization and ability to deliver projects on time and within budget. Our first major project together was downsizing from a 2,300 square foot home to a 1,200 square foot condo. Fran was instrumental in helping me to determine which furniture pieces to keep and what pieces were needed to create the look and feel I was looking for. She worked closely with the general contractor ensuring that the specifications were implemented correctly down to the placement of last electrical outlet. She coordinated all aspects of the transformation from lighting, painting, window treatments and furniture. I couldn’t be happier with her advice and consultation. She has been and will be my go-to Interior Designer.
