Avoid avoid avoid. Did substantial renovations on our house and we have spent more that 10000 pounds on subsequent dameges to the roof and plumbing caused by their poor workmanship. They even gave us a fake quote for roofing work that was never done.

I hired Gatta Star Group and Sabbia Design and Build for a renovation project in Sloane Square. I had the worst experience with their services. Some of the main issues I had with them are as follows: - They caused a huge gas leak in the kitchen because the hob wasn't connected in line with gas safety regulations. The leak was over the legal limit. - They carried out an electrical safety test that was faulty. Wrong circuit breakers were installed, they didn't earth the bonding to the gas meter. I had to spend another 1.5k to fix the electrical system and get a legitimate EICR approval. The scary thing is that they were willing to issue an EICR test with pass that was full of misrepresentations. - They didn't deliver most of the items agreed in the contract. Moreover, their plumbing work was horrendous and I had to spend another 5k trying to fix the faulty works done by Francesco and Carlo's team. - They were never on time and frequently would not show up at the property most days. I would call the owner if they are coming to the property as agreed between us, he would say they are literally on their way and would not show up for days. I think these people should not be allowed to operate a business in the UK. They risk safety regulations, consistently mislead clients and are incapable of delivering decent work. Please save your money and find a decent contractor.

Francesco and his team did a wonderful job. I initially went with another firm as Francesco couldn't start straight away, and was badly let down by them, so turned back to Gatta Star to complete the job. They were fantastic from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble, communication was great and we worked closely to manage the project to completion. They offered effective and budget friendly solutions to any complexities that are always found along the way. They completed the project ridiculously fast, coming in bang on estimate despite my fussiness and small requests to refine the job. They do not cut corners and go above and beyond, and they rectified the mess the other lot left behind. A+ and could not recommend more highly. The value of trust in building work cannot be underestimated, and there is no question of this here. For context, the original builders completed most of the structural work, and Francesco came in and finished and corrected problems in the new bathroom, added additional support where walls had been taken down, re-did the dangerous electric, building new partition walls and doorways, re-located and fitted the kitchen and plumbing, added taps to the outside, tiled, laid floors, plastered, painted, decorated, brickwork, new radiators etc. and more. If he can't start when you want him to, wait! I wouldn't trust anyone else.
