Regrettably I am not taking any new projects on at present as I am moving out of the area this summer. CIRCLE GARDEN SELECTED BY FRENCH HOUZZ AS THEIR FAVOURITE GARDEN PROJECT IN THE BEST IN THE WORLD TOUR OF 2017! Welcome to our website. We are a small, friendly and professional award-winning garden design, planting and garden renovation company based in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. We design gardens in Harpenden, St. Albans, and the rest of Hertfordshire, along with Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire. Green Tree Garden Design is run by me, Fiona Green. Using my eye for design; understanding of materials and construction techniques; and extensive knowledge of plants and horticulture, I am able to deliver the widest range of design and planting solutions. Supported by a fabulous team of gardeners, landscapers, and tree surgeons, I act as the primary contact for the design project, from the very first telephone call to completion of the fully planted garden, and beyond. Excellent customer relationships are key to our success, and I spend a lot of time understanding exactly what you want from your garden to ensure that the finished product fully matches your dreams. Many of our customers have become friends, and a couple have now asked me to design the garden in their new house, having moved, which is very exciting. Whether you desire a contemporary urban garden, a traditional rural garden, or any other garden style, Green Tree Garden Design can help you to achieve it. A keen gardener since childhood, I trained as a garden designer at Capel Manor College, Enfield. I now hold the RHS Certificate in Horticulture, the National Open College Networks Diploma in Garden Design, and the City and Guilds Diploma in Horticulture and Hard Landscaping. I am helped by Marcus, Alison F, Alison N, and Cornelia, all of whom are experienced horticulturalists. I am a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers, and works to their professional standard. We were delighted to have received the Best in Houzz 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019 for Design, and 2016, 2018 and 2019 for Customer Service - a great honour and testament to all the hardwork, professionalism and commitment from the entire team.

Fiona has transformed an unattractive space we rarely used into the best room in the house! From the start, she listened carefully to our requirements, producing a clever, creative design that made exceptional use of the limited space. After the construction, she continued to work with us on the planting, transforming our rather hazy ideas into an exciting and well balanced plan. Throughout she was professional, constructive, helpful and extremely knowledgeable. We absolutely love our beautiful garden and cannot recommend her highly enough.

We asked Fiona to design our garden when we moved into our new build and had no idea where to start. The garden was very much a blank canvas, overlooked by neighbours and steeply sloping from front to back. Fiona took time to understand our preferences, how we live and how we wanted to use the garden. She came up with an excellent design which sits well with the style of the house, has dealt with the issues over privacy and levels and has quite simply transformed the space. The implementation of the design was not without its challenges but Fiona recommended some excellent landscapers and together they resolved every issue calmly and efficiently. Most of all we love the planting and we look forward to watching the plants grow and develop as the garden matures. Our knowledge of plants is somewhat superficial but Fiona managed to interpret our ideas into a selection of plants that are exactly what we wanted. Essentially we know have a stunning garden that is a constant source of pleasure - practical, beautifully laid out, thoughtfully planted and easy to maintain. Fiona has been professional, knowledgeable and creative and a pleasure to work with. We would have no hesitation in recommending her services.

My wife and I worked with Fiona on a tricky, hilly, overlooked garden on a new property we'd been renovating. Whilst the project ended up costing more than I'd originally envisioned we were throughout provided with options allowing us to make choices. Sadly the installation was disrupted by the lockdown, but now it's finished we're happy to have worked both the landscaping team who were excellent and with Fiona. Our knowledge of plants and horticulture is sadly lacking and Fiona was able to create a magnificent planting plan that already brings a smile to my face each morning.

Fiona was able to accommodate our views and ideas perfectly within her design for our small but beautiful walled garden. She is able to strike the right balance between interpreting our brief and bringing in her own expertise in design and planting. She is always a pleasure to work with and really knows her stuff. Fiona is lovely to work with - very knowledgeable, with a warm professional approach. She clearly listened very carefully to our own ideas and then incorporated all the details into the designs, which she discussed carefully with us before we agreed on the final project and specifications. She gave us alternatives (different styles, colours, costs etc) to choose from when appropriate. The project was very well organised. At every stage, she agreed next steps and costs, and she always kept us informed of when the landscape workmen or gardeners would be coming round. We are absolutely delighted with our garden transformation. One great thing is that she doesn’t just finish the project and then disappear – she's happy to give advice on garden care going forwards and she follows up the project to check on how things are doing. We would definitely recommend Fiona and would happily use Green Tree Garden Design again.

We had a difficult project that required the complete removal of an existing tired 1970's large garden and redesigning it using both soft a hard landscaping. Fiona navigated her way through this while having 4 clients to satisfy (my wife, myself and my daughter and her husband) with great character, professionalism and aplomb. She was able to keep the costs in control and deliver a project that is stylish, practical and usable that all 4 of us enjoy daily.
