Fiddlehead Designs

We hired Fiddlehead Designs to design and build our new kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. We'd hoped to do full custom, but our budget couldn't support it. Steve was able to provide beautiful cabinets for our project in his semi-custom line, Holiday Kitchens, that fit in our budget. We are so pleased with the result! These cabinets are exactly what we'd hoped for, AND they fit in our budget. (His quote came in thousands of dollars below the quote from Hancock Kitchens, and we are so glad we didn't go with that quote before we found Steve!) Thank you for making our project all we'd hoped it would be, at a price point we could afford!

We hired Steve and his crew to design and build our new kitchen. We couldn't be happier! Steve really helped us work through our design issues and concerns, and came up with a bunch of great ideas for the cabinet layout and options for our new cabinetry. The kitchen they built is absolutely gorgeous, and exceeded our (high!) expectations. When the installation hit an unexpected issue because of unforeseen problems during the renovation, Steve was creative and understanding and came up with a great solution that works beautifully. Steve and Fiddlehead did an outstanding job on my "Acton Kitchen" which is pictured here on the site. Steve worked closely with us and the architect to ensure a design that met our needs of a working kitchen.. and worked closely with the builder to ensure a seamless installation. Steve helped us design in many features that make it an easy to use kitchen. The design, construction, and overall workmanship is flawless. I don't use that phrase lightly. I mean the cabinets are without flaw, as can be observed in the photos!

These guys are fantastic! We couldn't be happier with the design and quality of our new Fabuwood kitchen from Fiddlehead Designs. Our kitchen space was a bit tricky, but Steve's experience in designing kitchens insured that we maximized every inch of space. The quality of the cabinets and hardware are far beyond the price we paid. Getting a granite countertop at a very reasonable price was an amazing bonus. I have recommended Steve to friends and they have had the same great experience.

I hired Fiddlehead Cabinetry, run by Mr. Steve Prescott, to design, build, and install kitchen cabinets for $16,275. This amount only included the cabinets; I worked directly with other suppliers for the countertop, sink, appliances, flooring, electrical, plumbing, etc. Mr. Prescott completed his first design in January 2016. We made four modifications of that design throughout the next three months. I chose more expensive wood, and the price increased to $24,225, which seemed high, but I paid it in full. In April 2016, when the design was complete, but before any materials were bought, I decided to put an addition on the house and to relocate the kitchen into that addition. I wanted to postpone the cabinets and redo the design after the addition was completed, but Mr. Prescott said that would create great hardship for his small business. He said he could easily fit the design into the new space with one or two minor changes. Against my better judgment, I agreed to have the cabinets built then and stored, likely for a year or longer, with the documented agreement that he would deliver and install them into the new space whenever it was ready, with a six-week notice. A year later, I contacted him eight weeks ahead to do the installation, and he refused to do it. I sent him a copy of our agreement, and his emails became a barrage of derogatory comments. He tried to invent reasons to put me at fault. Eventually he agreed to install them but only if I paid him $4000 upfront. I did. He then refused to transport the cabinets, so I had to hire movers. He installed most of the cabinetry but left the job unfinished, so I had to hire another carpenter. All together, I spent $30,130, almost twice the amount of his initial proposal. Mr. Prescott has provided clear documentation of all the above information through his own texts and emails. Although I like the cabinets, I would never have paid this amount of money, and Mr. Prescott was very difficult to work with. I would not recommend this company.

Steve Prescott crafts beautiful cabinets because of his skill and exquisite attention to detail. Other pluses: Steve is an ethical businessman. He is pleasant and professional. He takes time to thoroughly talk through the project before beginning and in my situation, was very patient in making explicit my sometimes vague ideas.

Steve has completed three separate projects for us--a kitchen island, a large bookcase, and two matching bookcases. All were done exactly as we had hoped. He spent lots of time with us in order to make sure that he understood what we were looking for. The end result was perfection. We got exactly what we wanted. The workmanship was exceptional. Just recently as we were sitting in the den where the large bookcase sits my husband remarked how perfectly it fit in the room and what a pleasure it was to look at.

Steve Prescott, of Fiddlehead Designs, is a master craftsman who designs and builds outstanding cabinetry and furniture. His approach includes careful and thoughtful planning and extraordinary attention to detail that results in first class work. His knowledge and experience helped us achieve the design we sought for our new cherry kitchen. We are more than pleased with his artistry--so much so that we asked Steve to design and build bookcases and a cabinet for our living room. We unreservedly recommend Fiddlehead Designs.
