I have worked with Fahy Construction on few projects. Fiacra Fahy is to that day one of the best contractors I had the pleasure to work with as an interior designer. He is reliable, professional, patient, has outstanding work ethics, a solid set of sub-contractors, a great eye for design. He is one of the first contractors I contact when I have a project that needs attention to details and solid project management. I highly recommend Fiacra and his team for any project that you want to go smoothly.

Fiacra Fahy was the contractor we selected for our home renovation in 2008. We are very happy with the work he and his crew did for us over the 6-month period they worked with us. He was always straightforward and honest with us, and we loved working with him. The renovation involved stripping the house to the studs and then in fact replacing the studs to change the interior layout. A massive brick chimney was removed, all the electrical in the house was replaced, a new roof was installed, and the roof line was changed. A master suite was created out of two rooms, and a half-bath expanded into a full bath. A new larger kitchen with island was built with new appliances, cabinets, and flooring. Fiacra worked closely with us and Michael Kim, our architect, to bring our vision to reality. He made suggestions to make things move along as smoothly as possible. We moved out while the construction was going on, but came by the house almost every day to see and document the progress. We were impressed with how clean the work-site was kept at the end of the day. Everything was organized, swept up and ready for the next day. Fiacra and his crew worked quickly and reliably during the entire project. His estimate of the time required for the renovation was very accurate. We were in regular email/telephone contact with Fiacra. He would give us the heads up on what we had to consider next. For example, he had us choose the roof shingle type, then the floor, the bathroom tile, shower doors, and bath hardware. We were new to this process, so to have some lead time to select products made it feel less overwhelming. Fiacra is a wonderful woodworker, and he produced beautiful baseboards and window trim. The window seat he fabricated in our bedroom is a work of art that we enjoy seeing every day when we return from work. He also built shelving for us where needed throughout the house. We felt we were partners in the process, as opposed to just the homeowners. We would love to work with Fiacra again. After 12 years we have no regrets!

Fiacra has been our primary contractor/remodeler for over a decade as we updated our 1915 Victorian in the Melville Park section of Dorchester. We started working with him via our architect at the time of the major remodel and then have done multiple projects with him since. About a decade ago we did a gut renovation kitchen and bath and created a second bath in an attic. These were 2 projects 1 year apart each, 12-13 weeks where we moved out to in-laws and they were completed on time with high quality. In one case I think we were quoted 11 weeks and it took 12, another was 14 and it took 13. The delays were all Boston Inspectional Services. Our kitchen remodel was centered on an Aga64 stove which has an odd dimension of 39.5 inches wide. We also put in the laundry in the kitchen which has saved us countless trips to the basement over the years. Fiacra provides accurate estimates and you'll get quality work on time. He is the only contractor I've seen sweep up and keep everything clean and tidy end of day every day. Since then he has done the following projects for us: New Roof repair ( tree fell on house in a hurricane ) New 2nd story porch Expand closet Front Deck and stair using IPE When we bought our place on the Cape he helped me do a building inspection on short notice. We were just joking the other day that this is the house that Fiacra built ( or rebuilt ).
