I don’t understand how this company can have an A+ standing with the BBB. If you ever need concrete work done, DO NOT USE Everlast Concrete! I hired this company to replace a small front porch, steps and walkway to the porch. I was told that it would take 3-5 days…it took them 4 weeks. The very first day, I told that the job would cost 50% more than what was quoted. Then day two they wanted additional money to rent a machine. I was having my walkway, steps and porch stamped but was told on day one of construction that the stamp I chose and they quoted me for, could not be used for the steps. I was told to pick another stamp that was smaller. When I picked another stamp, they then told me I had to BUY the stamps (3 of them) and I would have to pay for them. When I said if I pay for them, then I was going to keep them, they said they would split the cost with me and they would keep them. Long story short, we used the original stamp design I had chosen and “skinned” the steps instead of the stamp and it didn’t cost me anything. They first told me 30% of the quote before they start and the rest upon completion. They asked for the second 1/3 when it was time to order concrete; saying it was their practice. Of course, I should have made sure everything was in their contract, but it wasn’t. Marc miscalculated on the concrete amount he needed and ran out during the pouring and had to have the concrete company bring more. Since my concrete was tinted, I was concerned about the color not matching. I was told not to worry it would match. Guess what…it didn’t match at all. They had to dig up the section of the mismatched walk and redo it. And again, it doesn’t match. Also, they work when they want to, not when you are expecting them to. They DO NOT clean up after themselves; through water bottles in the yard, leave tools laying for days, and I even had a dump truck left against the front of the house for a day (very attractive). They are full of excuses when you end up calling them to find out where they are since they said they would be there and are not. This has been one of the most stressful situation I have ever had.
I have now been told by another contractor, who I trust explicitly, that my railing cannot be done down the front steps as expected because Marc did not make the steps uniform. They are all different heights ranging from 5 ¾” to 7 ½”. I am honestly trying to decide if I am going to sue, the job is that bad. This job needs to be done by someone else.
