Erin Hoopes

We worked with Case Design on our kitchen remodel, and Erin was our project manager. Our home was build in 1920 and we wanted to incorporate the character of the home in the kitchen remodel. It was fantastic to work with Erin on this project because she easily understood the aesthetic we were looking for and was able to guide us in choosing materials. In addition, it was so helpful to have her expertise in designing the layout within the footprint of our old home to have the most efficient use of space possible. We also were able to find creative ways to stick to our budget and the project was delivered on time without any big surprises. We love our new kitchen and we loved working with Case and Erin.

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Erin Hoopes, an excellent Case Design Interior Designer on our Spring 2017 Renovation Project. We found Erin to be a great listener to our wants, needs and quickly understood our style. Then we watched Erin take that basic information enhance it and design a Master Closet and Master Bathroom that is not only beautiful, but well designed for actual use. Erin was so kind, and patient with me. I had a lot of ideas and she sorted through what would work and not work. She made me feel that I was not a problem, but I bet I really was. Not only does our Renovation Project take our breath away we would like to thank and recognize our project’s interior designer Erin Hoopes that made us say when the large mirror went up and everything came together “WOW”.

We had a great experience with Erin Hoopes during our recent basement finishing project. Erin was the first person we met and she was wonderful from day one through the completion of the project. Professional, knowledgeable, experienced and enthusiastic, Erin was a pleasure to work with during the entire process. If we have another project in the future, we will definitely contact her first. We would recommend her to anyone considering a home remodeling or redecoration project!

Erin is fantastic. She was not only able to create a vision to maximize the space of bathroom and den as part of our remodel, she was there every step in the construction process. She knew our neighborhood well, and all of the potential hiccups that come with remodeling an old home (permits, unforeseen expense, etc). She was readily available to address any concerns and questions - both during and after work hours (and weekends). It is rare to have a designer stay with you through the course of construction, and we believed that added tremendous value to our experience, as Erin was able to communicate our vision to the construction team. We would happily use Erin again in the future.

I was slow deciding to get my 4 bathroom renovation started, but Erin was very patient with me. She listened to my ideas and created the basic layout of the bathrooms. She changed the design numerous times for me in order to get the best use out of the available space, while making sure that the result would be beautiful! We moved walls and fixtures and created an ensuite bathroom out of a closet and part of an oversized bathroom next to it. She helped with each step and was sensitive to my tastes, while helping with decisions regarding tile, color and decor. I couldn't be happier with each bathroom, they even exceeded my vision for them thanks to ideas that Erin suggested, such as built-in shelves in areas, etc. I would recommend her!

We contracted Erin Hoopes to renovate a small kitchen. Our first meeting went well and we found her to be knowledgeable. We were surprised by her high hourly rate (which includes driving time to you) and while we were hesitant to move forward based on that alone, our main designer was not available. After we paid Erin, which she insisted was mostly upfront, she basically disappeared. The next months were a continuous struggle to just get in contact with her. There were multiple points where the kitchen work could not continue because we were unable to get in touch. She made multiple mistakes ordering (of which we were very forgiving at first) but her attempts to fix the problem always lacked a sense of urgency. At one point, we contacted the cabinet maker directly to see where our order stood (it had yet to be placed!) weeks after she told us she had ordered them. Multiple unreturned phone calls and e-mails week after week became the norm. Eventually she would finally get back to us but it was too little too late. While the kitchen turned out nicely, the entire renovation was far more stressful than it needed to be and we were left disappointed by her.

Approximately two years after purchasing my condo, I was ready to totally redo my outdated kitchen. I got designs and prices from three highly rated contractor/designer companies in the area, including Moss. Full disclosure- my designer Erin is someone I knew personally, but that only served to get Moss's foot in the door. I found her designs to be the ones that most closely mirrored what I wanted out of the kitchen, and the price to be competitive with the other designers. I was also more impressed by Moss's presentation and description of how/when the work would be done; it felt more professional, with more information given out front. As this was my first big remodeling project in my home, I felt more comfortable with what they presented initially with the plans, the schedule, what to expect during construction etc; I just felt more prepared with Moss than the other two. After officially selecting Moss, I was very pleased with all facets of designing the kitchen, before work actually started. Both Erin and my PM Dave were very accommodating to my schedule, working with me on the best times for them to come measure and spec out my kitchen, as well as meeting me in their office and in the showcase warehouses to design the cabinets/layout, pick out counter-tops, backsplash, etc. Erin also was very helpful in other parts of the design such as emailing me links for sinks, faucets, and pendant lights, i.e. items to buy that didn't require a warehouse visit. There was no part of the design aspect that I didn't feel in control of; she gave me options for everything fit the aesthetics and budget of my kitchen (or advised me if what I liked was over), but never "told" me what I should order. She was happy to provide expert opinion and advice when I asked if this light or that light went better, but always left the choices up to me.

We worked with Erin Hoopes in a complete kitchen renovation. We were active participants in the process and found her to be easy to work with and open/responsive to our ideas and desires. The end result was a kitchen that far exceeded our expectations and has transformed our home. We recommend her highly.

Erin was the initial contact person from Moss and reached the high standards we had set for the company and staff we wanted to work with to renovate our kitchen and half bath. Her professionalism was exceptional and her years of work and knowledge in the field served us well. She was very helpful by suggesting ways to accomplish our goals. Erin helped us design our kitchen and two bathrooms during a major home renovation. She brought excellent design advice, thoughtful recommendations about suppliers/materials/styles, and great suggestions to control costs. She really knows the business. Erin has a great sense of style and "reads" her clients' needs and interests very well. She made a real difference in our outcome.

We love the kitchen Erin designed, and she stayed involved in the project until completion. We interviewed almost a dozen kitchen designers over a period of six months. Erin was one of the few actual designers. She's not a mere cabinet salesperson. She listened to us. She provided several different designs for us which addressed our specific issues, including one which was extremely creative. We could not have designed the kitchen Erin gave us by ourselves. During construction, she was very accessible and responded immediately to questions/issues as they came up. She visited the job site on a regular basis. When things weren't perfect, she had them redone. She takes pride in her work and recognizes that the end product is a reflection of her.

It was a delight to work with Erin and others at Virginia Kitchens/Harry Braswell on our kitchen remodel. The project was well thought out. Erin took the time to listen to us and learn about our style, needs and lifestyle to create a gorgeous looking and totally functional space. She was really helpful when we were "stuck" on design decisions, guiding us through the process to a beautiful end. The pic: There was a wall that divided the kitchen from the dining room and left our layout feeling choppy and "old school." The new layout, as one can see in the pic, is open, inviting and functional for a busy family. .
