Better by Design! It is what drives us. Environments by Design specializes in the renovation and additions of residential properties. We believe that the design is the most important part of any renovation. If you don't really know what you'll end up, than, why would you pay someone lots of money and hope that the two of you are thinking the same thing? At Environments by Design, we start with design. It is an exercise to see what is possible! Technology allows us to show you multiple schematic designs and the impact each would have on your existing space. THat's it! If you want to continue to work with us because you like what you see, then we can go to the next step which is construction budget. We will put together not only the construction side of the cost but real finish cost vs allowance numbers. This is one are where traditional contractors make up their fees. The other is slush fund. Meaning a certain overhead amount is added to the construction budget so that if they run into anything than they can play hero and fix it for "no cost to you"! What happens to that money if "nothing" is discovered? Does the home owner get a refund? No. They keep it because it was in the contract. At Environments by Design, we line item everything so that our clients can see exactly what they are paying for. Should they decide to remove something, the line item comes out of the contract at the same rate it went into the contract.
