I guess you can say design is my passion and my employment choices have allowed me to pursue just that! My advertising background taught me the use of space and importance of scale and proportion, hotel ownership taught me about decorating on a budget and my real estate and renovation experience has taught me the nuances of style, décor finishes and creating uncluttered, appealing interiors. I wanted to renovate my kitchen, living room and den. Emily walked in my front door and was able to help me envision what my new layout would look like. She suggested redesigning my kitchen by removing part of the wall and adding a peninsula. She also helped design a pantry to look like a piece of furniture which I absolutely love. Her attention to all the details involved in the renovation was a huge help. Emily managed all aspects of the renovation from dealing with the contractors to shopping with me for cabinets, lighting, plumbing, and appliances. I highly recommend Emily Wright Designs.

I wanted to refresh and revitalize an upstairs den, 2 bathrooms and my foyer along with minor touch-ups throughout our home. Emily was more than wonderful to work with. She took the time to discern my likes and tastes and worked with me to transform these rooms into spaces even more beautiful than I had envisioned. I loved her creativity. I haven't worked with many decorators, but if they are all like Emily i would be glad to do so. Besides being knowledgeable and creative, she had a good ear for the wants and needs of the client. But from my perspective as the one tasked with doing the work, she was open to input from the practical side at the same time. It was a good collaboration and made for a fun project to do. And more importantly, in the end the client was pleased with final outcome. And that was due, in a large part, to Emily's creativity and leadership. I look forward to doing other projects with her here on the north shore.

Our home is a one-hundred year-old corner store in a historic New Orleans neighborhood. It was renovated by the previous owner, and while my wife and I appreciate the modern comfort, we wanted to emphasize the building's historic charm and make better use of the bedroom, family, and entertainment spaces. Being new to this, we didn't know where to start. While interviewing designers, we were impressed by Emily's enthusiasm and inspired by all of the ideas she offered as she toured our home. We decided to bring Emily early into the process because it was obvious she could guide the design and placement of closets and cabinets and make lighting improvements. During the decorating stage, my wife and I learned that we have different and distinct tastes, but Emily was able to merge our varying aesthetics to create spaces that both of us love. She helped us assemble rich color palettes for each room, select wallpapers and paints, and choose appropriate and interesting furnishings from local and online stores. All the while, Emily was able to keep us on track, guide us through dizzying design options, and steer us to sensible and cost-effective solutions. We are very excited about the end result!

I was in dire need of direction to make over my family room. Could not make decision on color of paint for a very large room.(18x32). Emily responded to my call for help on your web site. We met and I knew immediately what direction to go in. On the second visit she suggested ways to use all my existing furniture and art work, and as I look around I feel I have a brand new room. My family loves the final outcome and the declutter that was done and has totally change the room. Emily was wonderful to work with, kind, funny, talented and she actually hung all the artwork herself . i would definitely use her again and recommend her to others. Emily is great! I called her to help me with our downstairs living space. Specifically, our large foyer, dining and living rooms. She has a great eye for design, and immediately pointed out things that could be improved. Our living room is small, and I’ve been struggling with a layout for the past 5 years. She was able to rearrange our furniture to make the it feel roomy, while also adding space saving storage. She worked with me to make our home cozy, cohesive, and inviting. She used a lot of things that I already owned, along with some new key pieces, and made the spaces look dramatically more put together and beautiful. I would absolutely recommend her, and will be contacting her again in the future to help with other rooms in our house!

Emily and I worked together to identify and resolve ongoing issues in a converted, historic property that involved lots of participants and many opinions. She was able to coordinate the logistics with multiple parties, manage the process with several vendors, communicate the recommendations to the clients and see the project through completion. We worked together very well and I would definitely work with her again if the opportunity arises.
